Job 33:15-18. Dec. 4, '05.

Hide the light from the cold

shadow that perishes

in the slumbering

of night as it moves sluggishly

like a sloth through heavy bramble.

The shadow is seeking,

seeking its own kind

among the living souls now sleeping

peacefully in their warm beds. Innocent

they appear; vigilant

they are not. Watch it closely!

Now it strikes in the pervading

gloom before day break. The quiet

deceives even the wisest.

In the shadow, evil awaits

the one lucky strike it needs

to win; but the light of the sun

is stronger. Wield that strength now,

or all will fall!
