From Making Beds to Fixing Meals

Poetry By: Susan Hartline Fouts
Religion and spirituality

This has become a prayer for me because it goes against the grain to put ourselves and our needs last. To look for new opportunities to share God's love is a challenge daily. To walk in God's love is a higher calling that I hope by His grace I will be able to walk.

Let Love Be My Greatest Aim

by Susan H Fouts

Let love be my greatest aim

In everything I do

From making beds

To fixing meals,

I ask this thing of You

I ask this thing of You

Let my life shine forth Your love

Revealing Your grace

As I serve You, Lord Jesus,

And daily seek Your face

And daily seek Your face

Competition, I can do without

It's a weariness of the flesh

Erase the strains put on my heart

Oh, let me start afresh

Increase my knowledge day by day

Of Your goodness and Your will

Help me to do all Your commands

And do them better still

And do them better still

Competition I can do without

A weariness of the flesh

Erase the strains put on my heart

Oh, let me start afresh

Even today, Lord Jesus

For Your love is the foundation

And my greatest aim

To serve You, Lord, as I serve others

Let love be my greatest aim

Let love be my greatest aim

Oh, let love be my greatest aim
