I was feeling down in the dumps and was waiting for my son's while they were in the Gamestop store, in the car. I just started to write what was in my heart. View table of contents...

I Will Meditate

Sinking in my depressive state

I stop a while to meditate

And close my mind to endless clutter

To change this ship with it's rudder

Walk away from computer and bank accounts

Email can wait another day

Today I have nothing to say

Except to hold His words

against my breast

and read a while even take a rest

We all need a sabbath

A sabbath of rest

For our priorities to stand the test

Our minds need wisdom

Our hearts need grace

Our past mistakes we can't erase

But learn from them

And then go on

His mercies are new with the morning's sun

Compassions fail not

His kindness great

So in this depressive state

On His goodness I will meditate.

This poem talks about healing. Meditation always refreshes us and lightens whatever burden we may have.^^

How true, On His word will I meditate night and day. Thank you for your comment

Hello,
your poem was very nice. It just needs more power to convey ur message more eloquently. It wasn't hard hitting enough.
I hope u dont mind my criticism but i am sick of all the mollycoddling that goes on on this site. So many poems that are not even passable are deemed brilliant and so many good writers are totally ignored. This has become more of a friends chat room than a sincere writing site geared towards making writers and giving them a platform.

I thank you for your criticism, but I don't really consider myself a good writer. I write things I feel or things I see but I am in no league with the majority of writers on this site. I just think it is a good place to get things out and off of one's chest so to speak. I appreciate your comment but I don't expect to win any awards in this life anyway. I don't take my writing seriously to matter that much. I write what I feel and that is all I can say about that. You are right as far as booksie being a kind of chat room. There must be a million writings and I haven't even begun to scratch the surface on all the writing that is here. You would have to be on 24/7 365 days a year to be able to read what is here. I have alot of stuff in my reading list that I can't find time to get to.

Most of our worries and tensions are eliminated with meditation. And this is where your poem stands out.

^^SMILES^^ AHA a fellow meditator :D
me too Susan, it is the cure all for anything and everything.
it is too bad that so many people feel they can not sit still. it is not something that one person can do and another person can not do. it is only that through awakening we are more able to sense the subtle energy inside the stillness. oh I will be in the moment and know that this is it I wish I could stay here always ^_^ but alas then it is gone LOL!!!
until the next time ^_^
I hope that one day I will be able to hold on longer to those precious moments of such connectedness.
and with those words; I know I will ^_^
thankyou Susan for such a wonderful and thoughtfull poem. take care....katie

Thank you, Katie, in this hectic world our minds can be going in a thousand different directions. Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the roses along the way.

Hellow Susan. Keep writing about meditation as I need to clean my inner self.

I don't write about meditation much. It was just an instance when I felt the need. I don't have the power to clean my inner self. The heart is deceitfully wicked and who can know it?

hi! susan. i share ur innermost feelings for they make us come close to God. i'm happy that in spare moments too, u've come up with a gem. thanx. ;-)

Thank you

This heals a hurting soul trying to multi task and in the end gets 'nothing'.....

Just a break and a connection with HIM and things will be clearer soon.....

Love u SO much for this poem...speaks volumes about 'silence'.....

Thank you Pratibha for your lovely comment. It seems I have been multitasking a lot lately and it's difficult to find time to be alone with myself.

my life is getting hectic by the second because i worried about things here a lot. Your poem helps me to meditate and realized i should take a rest from all of these problems.

i'm not a critical person, i like anything that has a meaning. i love this poem very much:)
