Selfless Love.....by Susan H. Fouts

Climbing steep and treacherous paths

Early morning hours

Trudging through snow and rain

You would think this man's insane

Crazy for the love of Christ

He trudges the extreme

Physical exertion wears him down

But love for God drives him on...

On to a small village

To begin his work

The worst is over

It's time to talk

His name is missionary

*

Full of joy he greets those he meets

Making friends along the way

As people choose to follow the Lord

In a small hut they meet

Outgrown so soon

The enemies of the cross forced the villagers not to sell

Their precious land for a church.

Amal donated his for the cause

The temple enemies excommunicated him and his family from town.

The believers prayed and sought God's wisdom

Faithfully they met.

God said keep going

Keep building

My glory you'll see yet.

*

Up in the mountains

They carried their loads

From the vally beneath

to Nepali above

They came

Burdens on backs

Joy in their hearts

*

Taking three long years

And many tears

The work was finally finished

The enemies of the cross

were stunned to see the fortitude of the multitude

and asked for their forgiveness

for treating them so badly

*

Kavin gave his life to Christ

A preacher he became

To paster this flock

High in the Himalayas

Now missionary Suraj starts another journey

to display selfless love to other villages.

Thanks

That's not an easy job unless you commit yourself to God. This reminds me of the song, "Selfless Love" by Jamie Rivera. Nice song.

Great Job, Susan! :-)

I wish I was as committed as this young man. Thank you for the comment, Jadey.

Unconditional love is hard but indeed commendable. I imagine being a missionary to be a huge trial in life, and a courageous one. This was a lovely tribute to Suraj! ~ Nixie

No, bubbly, I get missionary updates from Gospel For Asia and I was inspired by the story of suraj. I felt he deserved some kind of tribute to his work although God is keeping track of it.

Lets simply put is this way...

Epic.

Okay, thats too weak of a word. Would masteful be enough?
