Jesus is with me

Jesus is with me when I lie in bed

Jesus is with me when my tears are shed

Jesus is with me when I sit in school

Jesus is with me when I’m by the pool

Jesus is with me when mommy is high

Jesus is with me when mean daddy walks by

Jesus was with me when mommy got hit

Jesus was with me in the closet

Jesus sat by me when I run and hide

He held my hand and frowned when I cried

Jesus was with me when the nice man came

Jesus was with me when he told me his name

Jesus was with me in the officer’s car

Jesus was with me when my front door was ajar

Jesus was with me when the cop took my dad

Jesus was with me; he and I were sad

Jesus was with me when mom wouldn’t move

Jesus was with me and made my sobs smooth

Jesus was with me when I met the Joan’s

Jesus stayed with me in my brand new home

Jesus loves me a lot, for that I am glad

He’s always around, he never gets mad

For the rest of my life, he’ll be by my side

And it’s all for that day when my faith almost died
