Moving Forward
"Why can't I be happy" I hear you say,
As you jump on the ever-ending track.
You jump off the train at the next stop,
And you sing with joy,
But in no time at all you need a new stop,
Further down the line to "greener grass".
You board the train once more,
Thanking God to have left the last stop,
Once again you sing for joy at the next stop,
But like the bird that does not see the gunner,
You sing with funnelled sight,
Suddenly you realise that the stops are the same,
They may look different,
But they are really the same.
Like a bird that takes flight at the sight of danger,
You see the fruit of awareness,
Destiny is not a ride through life,
It is a self-made journey.
