Is stress really a snake? Vipassana meditation involves seeing all feelings as simply sensations. It is when we do not fight emotions and simply watch them come and go that we achieve peace.

"Stress" in my stomach,
Tying my heart in ropes,
Playing with its beat.
The "stress" is unexplainable,
Like a sub-conscious anaconda,
The harder I fight the stronger it holds.
With "no time" to run the pain away,
The "time-bomb" waits to explode.
I examine the feeling;
Without anger towards the snake,
Watching the pain from afar.
I see how I have been tightening my own rope,
Slowly the snake loosens,
It falls to the floor.
My thought becomes clear,
Dark clouds move,
The sun shines.
