Forbidden Fruit
It glistened beautifully
In its place
On my palm.
It was sparkling red
Its luster and grace
Made me avaricious.
It smelled of the sweetest springs
And all good things
I desired it.
I took a tiny bite while
The green snake hissed
And smiled.
It was sweeter than any fruit
I wanted more,
More.
When you returned
You were in a state
Of shock.
While I sat there
Licking,
My fingers.
You were horrified to find
The fruit which was forbidden to eat
Was eaten by me.
I smiled sweetly and said
“The Forbidden Fruit
Tastes the sweetest”.
