Unspoken Prayer

I prayed each day that she would always love me
I prayed each day that her heart would never halt

I prayed each day that she would stay strong

I prayed each day that her smile would never fold

I prayed each night that we would grow old together

I prayed each night that her health would hold

I prayed each night that I would never see her cry

I prayed each night that her hand would always hold mine

And now I pray tonight that my tears will stay buried with her

I pray tonight that she will never know I cried

I pray to God that he will protect her

I pray to God that he will take care of her

I pray to God because he’s all she has

I pray to God, wishing he’d take me
