I've been writing lyrics for an embarrassingly long time. For the past two years I've been trying my hand at poetry. The rhyme and meter are hard habits to break, so instead of apologizing for them I take it as a challenge to use them without 'writing to the rhyme' - often unsuccessfully - but at least I am successfully staying amused. I hope you get a little enjoyment from these writings. I won't call them poems, even though that is the closest category I could find to fit them in. 'Stories That Rhyme' would be a better fit.

As far as poetry goes, I'm a 59 year old fledgeling, so I would really appreciate any HONEST and constructive criticism. Thanks.
