Chapter 4

"I can't believe we actually got married said Michael excitedly as he carried his new bride through the threshold of their motel room. (Michael had called ahead of time to arrange the room for them after they had gotten married).

"I know, I'm so excited that I had married you," said Sarah happily before kissing Michael. Michael stood her up, once they had gotten into the room so that Sarah could lay her things down. Michael had walked over to the bed, taking off his suit jacket and laying it on the chair in the corner, before sitting down on the bed.
"Hey, you didn't tell me that your parents died," said Michael sadly as he was sitting on the bed with his hand keeping him from falling over. Sarah turned toward Michael and looked at him before speaking. She thought that since they were married, that she shouldn't keep anything from him anymore, so she decided to tell him what happened, after walking over to the bed and sitting down beside him.

"I guess since we are married, that I can tell you what happened to them," said Sarah. As Sarah began to tell Michael what happened; Michael had put his arm around her to comfort her. He had no idea what it felt like to have both of your parents killed in a car accident, because he still had both of his parents, so he comforted her the best that he could.

"I'm so sorry," said Michael after Sarah had finished telling him what had happened. Sarah began to cry.

"It's fine….I just wish that they were here to meet you and see me get married, but I know that they are happy for me and what what's best for me," said Sarah as tears ran down her cheeks. Michael looked at Sarah and seen the tears running down her cheeks. So, he gently put his hand on her cheek and turned her head so that she was facing him. They didn't say anything, just looked into each other's eyes before Michael leaned in and kissed her.

It wasn't like any ordinary kiss that they had. It was long and passionate and had a lot of love behind it. Michael didn't stop kissing her as they laid down on the bed.

The next morning, Michael's phone went off, scaring them out of their sleep. Michael quickly reached over on the nightstand to answer the phone.

"Hello?"asked Michael sleepily. Sarah was laying there looking at Michael as he talked.

"It's me, Devin. Where are you guys at? Sarah's aunt and uncle are up at the school with the cops because she didn't come home last night," said Devin quickly. Devin was in the boys bathroom, hiding away from all of the commotion.

"A lot happened last night, but everyone is fine and we'll be there in a little while," said Michael calmly. He didn't seem really bothered by what Devin had told him. Sarah got up as Michael sat up and began to get dressed.

"Well hurry up, because they're questioning everyone," said Devin before hanging up the phone.

"What's going on?" asked Sarah as she finished putting on her clothes. (She had bought an extra pair of clothes, so that way she wouldn't have to wear her dress home).

"Your aunt and uncle have the cops up at the school because you didn't come home last night," said Michael when he laid his phone back on the nightstand. Sarah stopped combing her hair, and looked at him.

"What? They have the cops there? We have to go now," said Sarah as she rushed to get her things. Michael quickly got dressed so that they could check out and head to the school. "I can't believe that they would actually call the police." Sarah was in the passenger's side, when Michael climbed into the truck and closed the door. Michael took Sarah' hand before starting up the truck to calm her down.

"Sarah, it'll be alright," he said as he kissed her on the cheek.

"I knew I should of called them back when we got to the church and told them that I wasn't going to be home," said Sarah worriedly. Michael let go of her hand and started the truck, before driving off.

The whole ride, Sarah was worried about what would happen when they reached the school. She couldn't lose Michael because he was the only person that made her happy and he was her husband. Wow! Husband; she never thought that she would be saying her husband when she was only eighteen. She would stick by him no matter what happens to them. She would go to the grave with him, she thought to herself.

When they arrived at the school; Sarah seen a couple of police cars outside with her aunt and uncle's car. The two police officer's where asking Michael's friend's questions. Wondering what could of happened to Sarah.

Sarah climbed out of the truck first, followed by Michael. Sarah's aunt seen her climbing out of his truck and rushed over to hug her.

"Oh my God! I'm so glad that your home and ok!" cried Michelle when she grabbed and hugged Sarah.

"Yes aunt Michelle; I'm alright," said Sarah when Michelle stopped hugging her. Michael walked over to Sarah and she took his hand in hers and smiled up at him. Sarah's uncle Jim, walked over with the police.

"Officers, I want this man arrested for kidnapping my niece," ordered Jim. Sarah could tell he was very angry, mostly with Michael, but she couldn't let him go to prison. All the students were watching from the school windows to see what's happening. The police officer's walked over and arrested Michael. Sarah tried to stop them.

"No! You can't arrest him, he didn't do anything wrong. I called my aunt and uncle and told them that we were going to be a little late!" pleaded Sarah to the officers, but they didn't budge.

"Yes, you told us that you were going to be a little late, but we gotten worried whenever you didn't come home at all and we tried to call you. What else did you think that we should of done? You could have been killed!" said her uncle angrily. Sarah didn't say anything, but cried.

"Sarah hunny, your uncle is right. We thought something bad had happened to you," said Michelle, sounding like Sarah's mother again. Michelle went to hug Sarah, when Sarah backed away.

"No, you don't understand! Michael loves me and I love him! We got married yesterday, that's why I didn't call you and tell you we weren't going to be home!" Sarah tried to explain to everyone.

"YOU GOT WHAT?!" said Jim angrily.

"We got married yesterday," cried Sarah. The two officers stopped walking Michael to the car to listen.

"I can't believe you went and got married to that SON OF A BITCH!" yelled Jim. Sarah saw red when Jim had called Michael that and slapped him in the face.

"DON'T CALL HIM THAT!" yelled Sarah.

"Sarah, what's gotten into you? You've never acted like this before," said Michelle confusedly. Jim was holding his cheek where Sarah slapped him.

"I'm sorry that I'm not your perfect little angel anymore, but I love Michael and no one is going to tear us apart," said Sarah. She ran over to Michael and kissed him and put her hands on his chest.

"Don't worry about me, I'll be ok," he assured her. Sarah was crying.

"What are we going to do? I can't live without you," she cried.

"It's only for a little while. Don't worry, they can't hold me in there forever," said Michael. They kissed again, before the policemen put Michael in the car. Michelle ran over to Sarah and hugged her, as the cop car pulled away, down the street.

"You are forbidden to see him again," ordered Jim, before walking to their car and getting in.

Sarah couldn't believe this was happening. Just a few hours ago; they where a happy newly wedded couple, and now, that's all had been torn apart. She had to be with Michael again, no matter what anyone says.

After all of the commotion was over, the kids were ushered back to their classrooms and seats by their teachers. Sarah figured that the news about them being married would be around school in a matter of minutes.

"I'm sorry about all of this," said Michelle to Sarah's principal.

"That's fine, but I'm going to have to suspend her from school for a few weeks, because the cops had to be called," explained the principal. Sarah couldn't believe it. She had never been suspended from school before in her whole life, she was a straight A student and never missed school.

"That is understandable, but can't you make it a week or a couple of days? I don't want her to be missing a lot of school over her stupid mistake, and we want her to be away from Michael as well," suggested Michelle. The principal didn't say anything for a few moments, but just thought.

"Alright; she's suspended for a week and I will have to do something about her and Michael," said the principal.

"Thank you," said Michelle before shaking his hand.

Michelle walked Sarah to their car, and the principal walked back into the school. She opened the door for her and Sarah climbed in the back seat. She didn't talk to anyone, because she was so mad that she couldn't see Michael and that he was in jail.

When Jim pulled into the driveway of their home, Sarah took off her seatbelt, and stormed into the house and in her bedroom. She didn't talk to anyone, and she definitely didn't want to talk to Jim. Michelle and Jim walked into the kitchen to talk.

"I can't believe this is happening. I just wish everything will go back to what it was," cried Michelle. Jim walked over from the counter and hugged Michelle.

"It's going to be ok. She is not allowed to see that boy again, so everything will be what it was," said Jim after he hugged her.

"She's going to see him again. They are married and you can't keep married couple's apart," said Michelle.

"We'll see," said Jim as he poured himself a glass of vodka.

When Sarah's alarm went off, she jumped out of bed, turned off the alarm and hurried to get dressed. The week suspension was over, and that means that she could see Michael again, at school, and her aunt and uncle couldn't really say anything about it. So, Sarah went to bend down to pick up her book bag, when she felt sick to her stomach and felt like she was going to throw up. So, she rushed to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet before throwing up.

When she was done, she got up, brushed her teeth again and looked in the mirror.

"What is wrong with me? For the past week, I have been feeling nauseas, and been throwing up," said Sarah to the face in the mirror. Just then her aunt called her to leave, so she forgot all about the sickness, and grabbed her things before rushing down the stairs.

She hadn't really talked to Michelle since Michael was taken away, and she defiantly didn't talk to her uncle all that week.

"Whoa, you look horrible this morning," said Michelle when Sarah was putting on her sandals and sitting on the chair beside the door.

"What?" asked Sarah confusedly. She got up and looked at her face in the body mirror, in the hallway. "Oh yeah; I haven't been feeling well all week, I think it's just a bug going around."

"Well; I'm going to schedule you an appointment with my doctor, that way he can find out what's going on," said Michelle as she opened up the door to leave. Sarah walked out without saying anything else, because she just wanted to see Michael. She rushed to the car, and waited on Michelle.

"Oh, I gotten your schedule changed, so you're going to have to go to the office to get it," said Michelle when she pulled up beside the sidewalk.

"Alright, fine," said Sarah. She got out of the car before Michelle could say anything else. She didn't want to delay seeing Michael anymore. Sarah threw her book bag over her shoulder as she ran into school, and Michelle drove off.

When she ran in, she hurried to the office, got her schedule, and went to find Michael's friends.

"Hey Devin; have you seen Michael yet?" asked Sarah curiously. Devin was getting his books out, before he answered.

"Ahhh…yeah; the last time I seen him, he was getting his books from his locker…actually; there he is," said Devin as he pointed quickly, behind Sarah. Sarah turned around and seen Michael and ran to him and kissed him as he wrapped his arms around her. All the kids stared as they kissed and hugged, and then began walking whenever they stopped.

"I've missed you so much. My aunt and uncle took away my phone, so now I can't call you," said Sarah.

"I've missed you to, and I have been put on house arrest so I can't kidnap you again," laughed Michael. Sarah missed that laugh, and she also missed his pretty smile.

"Oh, Im so sorry that I got you put on house arrest," said Sarah sadly.

"Don't be; it's not you're….," he began, as Sarah grabbed her mouth and ran to the bathrooms, before throwing up again. Michael went to run after her, but couldn't because the bell rang, and he had to be on his best behavior if he wanted off of house arrest, so instead, he rushed to his first new class.

After Sarah had thrown up, she walked out of the stall and seen Crystal putting on makeup at the sinks.

"I see that you're finally back," said Crystal with an attitude.

"Please, I'm not in the mood," said Sarah as she took a handful of water, put it in her mouth, swished it around, and spitted back in the sink. Crystal threw her eyeliner in her purse, before walking over to Sarah and getting in her face.

"I want to make something clear; I don't like you, and I probably will never like you. So, if you think that you can be that one new student who can sweep in and take the star football player and be the queen of this school think again! You will never be the queen of this school, and Michael still belongs to me, whether you two are married or not!" yelled Crystal.

"Well, we love each other and we are married, so I think Michael is pretty much done with you," said Sarah.

"We'll just see about that," said Crystal before grabbing her purse and storming out of the bathroom.

That whole day was perfect, besides Crystal trying to get in between Sarah and Michael.

"How was your day?" asked Michelle when Sarah climbed in the car and closed the door.

"Fine," replied Sarah. She couldn't say that she hung out with Michael, because Sarah didn't want to be taken out of school, since that is the only place that she is allowed to see him.

"I called the doctor, and I got you an appointment today, so we are going to have to hurry if we're going to make it," said Michelle before driving off.

When they reached the doctor's office; Michelle stayed in the car and Sarah walked in. Sarah didn't really want her aunt to go in anyway, since they weren't really talking yet, and it would just be awkward.

So, Sarah filled out the forms that she had to fill out, and they called her in right away.

"So, tell me what's going on?" asked the doctor when he walked in. Sarah seen that the doctor was short, had a bad comb over, and wore glasses. He also had a clipboard, so he can write down Sarah's symptoms.

"Well, it started about a week ago; everything that I eat I have been throwing up, and just feel sick," explained Sarah. She was sitting on the hospital bed.

"Ok, we're going to do a couple of tests to see what's going on. First, we're going to need you to pee in a cup and then we'll go from there," explained the doctor. He handed Sarah the cup before leaving. She walked into the bathroom and peed into the cup. Sarah then walked out and handed it to the doctor, who had gloves on, and put the specimen into a baggie and gave it to the nurse, while the doctor waited on other patients.

As Sarah waited for the test results; she wished that Michael was there. She needed someone to talk to and she just wanted to be around him all the time.

The doctor finally came in about an hour later, with all the test results.

"Well Sarah; everything is fine, but we did find something," began the doctor as he walked in and closed the door. Sarah got really nervous when the doctor told her this. She took a deep breath before talking.

"What is it?" she asked nervously.

"Well, we took a number of tests and found out that you are pregnant. That's why you have been throwing up all the time," explained the doctor.

Sarah couldn't believe the news. Her and Michael had only had sex that one time, when they got married.

"Ok," said Sarah. She didn't know what else to say.

"Is the father still in the picture?" asked the doctor.

"Yes," replied Sarah.

"Ok, well, good luck and I'll schedule you an appointment for a couple weeks from today," said the doctor as he wrote down the date and time.

Sarah took the piece of paper and the doctor walked her out. Sarah couldn't believe that she was pregnant. She was happy, but she can't even see Michael, except for at school. Sarah got into the car and drove off without Michelle saying anything.

Chapter 5

Michael was pacing around his room, that night, wondering about what to do to see his wife Sarah. They could not see each other because Sarah's uncle didn't like Michael, on the fact that he was not white and that he had married his niece. So, he was pacing back and forth to figure out what he could do, so they could see each other again.

When he got tired of pacing the floor, he went over to his desk and sat down in front of his laptop, and began to tap on the keyboard. He had been writing a paper for his English class on Romeo and Juliet, but got distracted when he thought about Sarah. It had only been not even a month that they seen each other outside of school, but it was killing him. He never wanted to be apart from her, never.

As he thought, his cell phone rang; he picked it up, and seen that it was Devin, so he answered the call.

"Hello?" asked Michael as he leaned back in his chair.

"Hey Michael; I know that you have been down lately because of the whole situation with Sarah, but a couple of friends and I are thinking about going out and wanted to know if you wanted to go? That way it'll take your mind off of things," suggested Devin. Michael thought about it before speaking.

"Who's all going to be there?" asked Michael curiously.

"Oh, just some of the guys from the football team and the cheerleaders," replied Devin.

"When you mean cheerleaders, do you mean Crystal is going to be there, cause I don't want to deal with her right now," said Michael. There was a short pause on the other end.

"Yeah she's going to be there, but she is coming with one of the football players, so I think she'll leave you alone," said Devin.

"Alright, I'll be there," said Michael before hanging up the phone.

"Well, what did he say?" asked Crystal as Devin hung up his cell phone.

"He said that he would be there," replied Devin. "But he also asked if you were going to be there too, because he didn't want to deal with you."

"What did you say?" asked Crystal angrily.

"I told her that you were going to be there, but you were coming with another football player, so you wouldn't bother him," explained Devin.

"Good; I don't care what he said or you said, as long as he is coming tonight so I can make my move. I'm going to knock Sarah at of the picture once and for all, and you're going to help me," said Crystal as she pointed to Devin. Devin looked at her confused.

"No, I did my part already, I asked him to come," explained Devin.

"I don't care; your job isn't done yet. You're going to talk Michael out of wanting to see or talk to Sarah, and if that doesn't work, then I'll make my move," explained Crystal.

"I don't think that it's going to work. He really loves Sarah; I mean, they got married," said Devin. Crystal stood up from the bed and walked over to the mirror that she had in her room by the door. She fixed her hair and looked to see if she needed to put on anymore make up, before talking.

"So, they can always get a divorce," said Crystal as she looked at herself in the mirror.

That night Michael got ready, before Devin came to pick him up. He told his parents where he was going to be, then rushed outside before they could say anything else, and hopped in Devin's truck, before he sped off.

"So, how you been doing?" asked Devin as he drove.

"Alright I guess," replied Michael depressed. Since Michael and Devin had been friends since kindergarten, he knew when Michael was lying and he knew that Michael had been lying at that point.

"I know that you're lying; I can hear it in your voice," explained Devin as he turned onto the highway. Michael was silent for a few minutes before explaining.

"I just miss her so much. I mean we're married and we haven't been able to be alone except for our wedding night, which feels like forever," said Michael sadly.

"Well, I think things are going to turn out for the better. You're going to have fun tonight and I'm sure that there are other girls there that will keep your mind off of Sarah," smiled Devin.

Michael looked at him confusedly. Didn't Devin hear what he had just said? He had missed his wife and can't see her; that doesn't mean that he is going to cheat on her so he can feel better.

"I'm not coming tonight to cheat on Sarah. I love her and I don't want no other girl, but her," said Michael.

"Ok, ok, calm down; let's just see how tonight goes," said Devin.

Sarah was in her room writing in her journal about the news that the doctor told her.

Dear diary,

I just found out that I am going to have Michael's baby today. I am so excited, but I wish that Michael was here so we could share the news together. The only time that I can see him is at school, and even that is limited, since my aunt and uncle had our schedule's changed. I just want everything back to the way it was. I want to see my husband again. Wow, husband, I didn't think that I would be saying that at this age, but I love him and always will love him. I need to see him and talk to him, but since they took my cell phone away and laptop away I don't have any connections with the outside. Maybe I will get lucky tonight and they will let me go for a walk, and then I can go to his house. I don't know; I'll try, wish me luck!

Sincerely, Sarah

When Sarah had finished writing; she closed her journal and put it back in the night stand and rushed down stairs to ask her aunt if she could go for a walk. She was still not talking to her uncle, because he was the reason why she and Michael couldn't see each other.

As Sarah rushed into the kitchen, she saw that her aunt was washing the dishes from dinner. So, Sarah walked over, grabbed the dish towel from the counter and began drying the dishes and putting them away.

"I seen that you finally decided to come out of your room," said Michelle after a few minutes of silence.

"Yeah; I'd figure I would come down and help you clean up and see if maybe I could go for a walk, since it's Friday and I've been good lately," said Sarah nervously. She was getting ready for her aunt to yell at her, but what Michelle said next surprised her.

"I guess you can go for a walk, but you are not allowed anywhere near Michael's house and you have until midnight to get home, before your uncle will be home from the office," explained Michelle. Sarah was so excited that she put the plate down that she was drying and hugged Michelle.

"Oh thank you; it feels like forever since I been outside!" Sarah said excitedly.

"Ok, you better get going cause it's ten-thirty now," said Michelle happily that Sarah had hugged her. It's been forever since Sarah had hugged her.

"Ok," said Sarah as she let go of Michelle and rushed out the door, closing it behind her.

When Sarah was outside, she stopped in the driveway and smelled the fresh air. The only time that she was allowed to go outside was to go to school and come home. She knew that she wasn't allowed to go to Michael's house, but she had to tell him the news. She had to tell him that she was going to have his child. So, since it was ten-thirty and it took half an hour to get to his house, she figured that she would have time to get back home before her uncle did, so she began walking towards his house.

When Devin and Michael arrived at the movie theatre; Michael saw Crystal standing with the rest of the cheerleaders.

"I don't think I can do this," said Michael. Devin turned the truck off and opened the door before speaking.

"What?" Devin began, then seen Crystal. "Don't worry about Crystal, she actually came with me, so I will keep her occupied the whole night."

"You came with Crystal? I thought you didn't like stuck up girls?" asked Michael confusedly.

"She kind of grew on me," smiled Devin as he stared at her. Besides Crystal wanting to ruin his best friend's marriage, he really did love her. In fact, he loved her when she was seeing Crystal, but he just couldn't come to tell Michael and ruin the relationship that he was in with her.

"Alright then, I guess I'll do it," said Michael slowly and depressed.

"Ok," said Devin as he climbed out of the truck and Crystal ran over to him and gave him a kiss and a hug. She grabbed Devin's hand as Michael walked around the front of the truck, towards them.

"Oh, hi Michael, I didn't know you where coming," she lied.

"Yeah, Devin talked me into it. I needed to get out and just think about things for a while," he said slowly with his hands in his jeans pockets and head toward the ground. As Crystal looked at him, she never saw him this upset before. Maybe he really did love Sarah and wanted to get back with her, but that can't be. She loves him and he is only allowed to be with her.

"I think the movie is about to start. We need to go in," said Devin.

"Ok," said Michael slowly. He followed Devin and Crystal in the movie theatre. When he walked in; he seen all boy girl couples holding hands and some where kissing, which made him even more depressed. "Devin, I have to go." Crystal made Devin stop before walking any further.

"What? Why?" she asked him curiously.

"Because all I see is couple's holding hands and it's just making me more depressed and I think I'm just going to go so I don't bum you guys out," explained Michael as he began to walk away, but Crystal grabbed him by the arm and stopped him.

"Come on Michael, please don't go. I will hold your hand if that makes you feel any better," pleaded Crystal as she went to hold Michael's hand, but he pulled away.

"No, I'm just going to go," said Michael.

"But you came with Devin, remember? How are you going to go home? Just come one; I promise that I will behave," said Crystal as she looked up to him with a sympathetic look and offered him her hand. Michael took a look at her and then a look at her hand.

"Alright, I guess I can stay since I came with Devin," said Michael slowly and sadly. He gently took Crystal's hand before walking to the movie and sitting down.

As Crystal held her hand; she forgot how warm it was and how gentle he can be. So, she wrapped her arm in his and they watched the movie.

When Sarah arrived at Michael's house, she knocked on the door. It was a couple of minutes before his dad answered. He looked a lot like Michael, but a little taller and older.

"May I help you?" he asked Sarah. Since Michael's parents where never home when they would hang out, he didn't know who she was.

"Hi sir; I'm looking for Michael," Sarah said nervously. Michael's dad looked at her confusedly.

"What do you want with him?" he asked. Since they had never met Sarah; he was wondering why a young white girl was standing on their door step asking for his son.

"I know that we haven't met yet, but I am dating your son Michael and I just wanted to know if he was home?" asked Sarah still a little nervous.

"I'm sorry, but he went out a few hours ago. Something about going to the movies with his friends and girl name Crystal," explained Michael's dad. Sarah couldn't speak at the sound of these words. How could he go out with Crystal, when he was married to her and loved her? She finally talked.

"Well; could you tell him that Sarah just dropped by to see him?" she asked on the verge of tears.

"Yes, I will," replied Michael's dad before closing the door in Sarah's face. She busted into tears as soon as she was alone. She couldn't believe that Michael was out with Crystal. Didn't he care at all about her? What about her aunt and uncle? She had hurt them because she thought that Michael had loved her. She didn't want to think about it anymore, so she ran home as fast as she could as she cried.

When she reached her house, she busted through the door and quickly ran up stairs to her room. (Michelle was already in bed). Sarah threw herself on the bed and cried into her pillow. She just couldn't believe that he would do that to her.

After about ten minutes of crying; she grabbed her journal, and tore a piece of paper from it and began to write Michael a note.

Dear Michael,

I went by your house last night to see you and tell you something important, but your dad answered the door and said that you went out with Crystal. I just want to let you know that you can have your ring back and I don't want to talk to you ever again. I don't know how you could go out with her, when you are married to me and love me. I even hurt my aunt and uncle because I thought you love me.

P.S. Enclosed is your class ring that you gave me on our wedding night. I want you to have it back and I don't want you to ever talk to me again!!!!

When she was done with the note, she folded it up and put it in an envelope that she had found in her night stand when she came here. She put the note in the envelope and took his class ring from around her neck and put it in the envelope as well. As she was writing the note, tears fell down and made some wet marks, but she just left them there because she was too upset to care about neatness.

She laid the envelope with his name on it on the night stand and was going to give it to him Monday at school. She figured that he would be too busy all weekend with his new girlfriend, to even think about her in the first place.

Sarah turned off the light, and threw herself into her pillows and cried until she fell asleep.
