Tin-kle, drip, drop… the rain water split down on the tin can, clinking metallically. I kicked it away and leaned back on the sodden bench. It was done, over… we weren’t in love. I don’t know why we when out, bad idea. And now it feels like he’s gone forever… even though I’ll see him again. Sure…

Sigh.

But it’ll never be the same as before. The barrier breached… the cat caught in the mouse trap… the can rolling down the street. There’ll be others; more of him, more of me… sometimes it’s meant to work. This time it didn’t.
