Do you see the sharp stones beneath your feet?

Walk slow that my hands may be there to hold you if you might fall.

Follow your steep path that winds upward through the trees.

Walk past the rocks and roots that have tripped you since you were small and

leave them behind you.

You are a breath of the wind. A crushing crash of the ocean.

You are a prairie fire running west for the hills.

You are the virile soil where the seeds of my life are sown.

Wild and free to find a place of your own.

Lavender and coriander; the scents of you drift to me.

Our paths run together and your soft hands have been there to hold mine when

the earth has slipped out from under my feet.

The words "I have never before...", "I will never again...", and "I will for all of my life..." filter from my heart

to my tongue and flutter around you.

You are a breath of the wind. A crushing crash of the ocean.

You are a prairie fire running west for the hills.

You are the virile soil where the seeds of my life are sown.

An unbroken wild horse free to find a place of your own.

The wind blows where it chooses to blow.

The ocean kisses the shore it decides to.

The heat of a prairie fire rises towards the hills of the west.

You wrapped yourself in my arms; gave comfort and took it for yourself.

We chose each other. We chose best.
