“MARK, STOP IT!” Scarlet yelled at her phone. “You son of a bitch, how could you –“

“Easy babe.” Mark replied at a low voice. “It’s just a date. Besides, you haven’t go into a date with anyone else since birth.”

Scarlet sighed as she held her phone while walking in the park. She saw the sky field with stars as she raised her chin.

“Oh…” Scarlet sighed. “This is so romantic.”

“What’s romantic about a stupid date?” Mark said sarcastically.

“Nooo…” Scarlet replied. “It’s not about the date, you idiot!”

“Ha Ha Ha.” Mark laughed. “Fine. So I guess you’re going to push through the date.”

Scarlet stopped for a moment. She brushed her face and came up with a good idea to relax.

“Mark…” She said as she opened her wallet. “I’m going to Gettysburg.”

“So?” Mark replied.

“Duh?” Scarlet answered.

There was a pause of silence between Scarlet and Mark.

“Come over.” Scarlet said as she broke down the silence.

“Okay girl!” Mark shouted. “I was thinking –“

“Sam…” Scarlet interrupted. “Fine, bring him.”

“Thanks girl. We’ll meet you up at 10.”

“But Mark…”

“No but’s sis. I know it’s still eight thirty.”

“Wait –“

Mark hung up. Scarlet startled and decided to stand up and walk towards Queen Street. She just displayed the smile as she walked down under the streetlights. She imagined herself sitting inside Gettysburg with her friend, Mark and his boyfriend, Sam. Yes! Mark got a boyfriend but she don’t. Well, at first glance, you can say that Sam is a straight dude because of his muscular features and his adorable, cute face. Sam was really tall, about 6 feet. However, on the bright side, he’s not. He is totally out, although he is a rugby player. Her friend, Mark, was just a normal gay guy. They both met in Rugged Edge when Mark was sitting inside, waiting for time to pass by. Then Sam entered the coffee shop and fell in the line near the counter. As Sam waited for his turn, he saw Mark sitting beside the window, drinking on his cup of cappuccino. Sam approached Mark soon after he got his order.

“Excuse me…” Sam said in a low voice.

“What?” Mark replied in a higher tone.

“Uhm…Can I sit here?”

“Why?” Mark replied. “There are lots of available seats over there.”

“I want to stay with you.” Sam said in a flirtatious voice.

Their love story just came out from nowhere. Mark being a workaholic lawyer and Sam being the hot rugby player is just an example of two worlds clashing with each other.

Scarlet kept on listening to him. However, she was not interested on having a good relationship with a stranger. It was too awkward for Scarlet. In short, she doesn’t want to

have a boyfriend. But Mark wants to help her, so she was thinking of Mark’s proposal to her really hard.

“Oh my god!” Scarlet mumbled as she felt someone was following her.

She turned back and saw no one.

“Thank goodness.” Scarlet sighed.

She continued walking until she reached Gettysburg Eddie’s. She entered slowly and saw a local band playing in the stage. She displayed a smile when she saw her favorite

bartender hanging out in the counter.

“Hey, Scarlet is here!” Tyler yelled.

“Stop it, Ty.” Scarlet shushed him.

“So, what made you decide to hang out here?”

“Hmm…a Bloody May please?”

“Right away, ma’am.”

“Oh, don’t call me ma’am Ty.” Scarlet yelled. “Make it two.”

Scarlet sat in the stool as she waited for her drink. She looked around and saw many people pouring inside Eddie’s. It is somewhat odd because it was just Thursday and

people usually come during Friday’s and Saturday nights. Scarlet heard the local band playing “Weightless”. It was her favorite song, so she stood up and sang with the band.

‘Maybe it’s not my weekend but this gonna be my year.

And I’m so sick of watching while the minutes pass as I go nowhere.

And this is my reaction, to everything I fear.

‘Coz I’ve been going crazy I don’t wanna waste another minute here.’

She clapped her hands as the band kept playing.

“Woohoo!” She yelled as the drummer gave her a wink.

“Scarlet!” Ty yelled. “Two Bloody Maries for Scarlet.”

Scarlet looked back at Ty and approached him.

“Keep yours.” Scarlet said.

Ty startled, but he still grabbed the drink.

“Thanks.”

Scarlet stood up and leave Ty in the bar. She waved him goodbye as she walk towards the club seat. She sat beside the window and took a sip on her drink. She giggles as

she watched the people passing by the streets doing stupid things.

“I think I need some powder.” She mumbled.

Scarlet pulled a foundation on her purse and gave her face a light brush of powder.

“This one looks perfect!” She whispered.

Then a male voice hissed her ears.
