Chapter 11

The sun was setting and fireworks would be starting soon. We were sitting on a blanket over by the music and watching the couples dance around on the dance floor. I sat in between Landon's legs while his head rested on my shoulder and his arms were wrapped around me tight.

"I'll be right back, I promise." Landon whispered in my ear.

He hopped up from where he was sitting behind me and walked over to the stage. One of the band members bent down and they were discussing something. I was curious as to what it was. They finished talking and he walked back over to me. But instead of going back to where he was sitting before, he stood in front of me and held out his hand to me.

"Will you dance with me?" He asked when I looked up at him from where I was still sitting on the ground.

A huge grin appeared on my face and it made him smile. I put my hand in his and he pulled me up to him. He lead me to the dance floor and pulled me close. Very intimate, I felt like the whole world was made so that we could be together. I know...a little dramatic. But there truly are no better words to explain how I felt in his arms on the dance floor.

A song came on, I've heard it before. It's a really good one. 'It's your love' by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. I looked up into his eyes and saw a sparkle in them. I could get lost in their depths. He brought his head down to my level and I thought he was going to kiss me, but he put his mouth by my ear and whispered.

"This is my song to you." He said.

I felt goosebumps rise on my skin and a shiver ran down my spine as I listened to the lyrics and danced with the man I was falling in love with. I rested my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat.

Yea yea
Dancin' in the dark middle of the night
Takin' your heart and holdin' it tight
Emotional touch touchin' my skin
And asking you to do what you've been doin' all over again

Oh it's a beautiful thing don't think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know what it is that won't let me go

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under
Oh it's your love

Better than I was, more than I am
And all of this happened by taking your hand
And who I am now is who I wanted to be
And now that we're together,
I'm stronger than ever
I'm happy and free

Oh it's a beautiful thing,
Don't think I can keep it all in
If you asked me why I've changed,
All I gotta do is say your sweet name

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under
Oh, it's your love

Baby, Oh oh, oh,

Oh it's a beautiful thing,
Don't think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know what it is that won't let me go

It's your love
It just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me
I can't get enough
And if you wonder
About the spell I'm under,
Oh it's your love
It's your love, it's your love, it's your love

The song ended and I was floating on cloud nine. I Looked up at him and he lowered his mouth to mine and brushed his lips across mine. This night is so perfect, I never want it to end.

He lead me off the dance floor and back over to where the others had sat watching us. I sat down, but he didn't come with me. I looked up to see what he was doing. He was looking off into the distance.

"I'll be right back." He said and then walked off.

I looked behind me in the direction he was heading. I saw him go up to a man and start talking to him. He must know him or something. I turned back to the group and both Meg and Christine were grinning at me.

"I could feel the passion between the two of you all the way over here!" Christine said.

"I could too, it was almost as if you two were the only ones out there. It was so intimate I had to stop watching. I felt as though I was prying in." Megs chuckled.

I knew I was blushing majorly. But I didn't mind so much, I was too happy to let anything bother me. I was on top of the world! Or at least I felt like I was. I looked back behind me and Landon was making his way back over to me. He took his place behind me. Though something was different, I could tell.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

"Yes, it's fine." He gave me a smile. But it didn't reach his eyes...yes, something is wrong and he's not telling me what it is. Who was that man and what did he say to Landon to upset him so badly?

The fireworks started and we sat watching them, but my mind was else where. Too bad the night couldn't have stayed as magical as it was before.........
