1.New start.
Wesly put his books away. He had read all of the book on his book shelf. There was nothing in them that he didn't know. He would never ever forget anything as long as he lived as an immortal a vampire. In his mind he had no soul. He was just a mindless killing machine. Even though the decades had passed and he became more self-control. But still he hated what he was.
The person who made him picked him for his kind heart. But he knew there was more it then that. Then just picking someone for just that. His maker left him to his sorrow and pain. Wesly remembered very little of his maker only that he gave him what he needed to change then he was left alone for all time. Wesly was alway alone he had no one to even talk to and thats why he wanted a new start. Away from everything.
He moved to the boxes that needed to be opened and put away. He moved about in the house with speed and moved thing to where he wanted them to be. He was done almost the second he had started.
He had moved into a very small place just fine for one person. He had one next door neighbor. It was a small family who owned the place he had bought from them. The mother a daughter and it was just the two of them. The mother was a doctor and was well off.
He had never gotten to close to humans before he was afraid of what would happen if he got to close or they got too close. But ever often people would make up rumors. But most of the time they never got to close to look at what was really real to them.
Most of the time he would change his identity and move to another part of the USA area or move to another town. But after 50 years of being away from his home town he would move back. Wesly had not come a crossed another vampire. The first and last vampire he had come a crossed was the one who made him. It had been a 156 years sense then and times were different back then. You could get away with more back then you could do now.
He had longed for someone to be with to spend all of forever with. He didn't even know how to change anyone. He could only guess how by watching movies and reading books. Then the door bell rang and took him off of this train of thought. Wesly zipped to the door in record time. He opened the door. There was a woman and a girl. The girl had long black hair her eyes a green. She had a black corset on and black jeans on. Wesly looked at the dark looking girl and smiled warmly despite his gray fierce eyes.
Then he looked at the woman that sold him there spare house. "Did I do something wrong, Mrs. White." Wesly asked not wanting to get kicked out.
"No. You did nothing wrong. Please call me Jessie." She said. Wesly notes that she had a very small plate of cookies in her hands. "I wanted to give you a welcome gift to the area. I've never had neighbor so I wanted to start out right." She sounded like she meant every word. She handed Wesly the plate of cookies.
"Thank you. I'm sorry for being so rude for not introducing myself. I'm Wesly Wright." He held out his hand with other hand carried a plate and she shook his hand. Jessie was shocked by how cold his hands were. Wesly Wright looked more like a seventeen year old then a twenty years old man. But looks could be deceiving.
"This is my daughter Carrie." Jessie said.
Carrie held out her hand Wesly took it and instead of shaking hands Wesly kissed it. Carrie blush her cheeks turning a warming red that made Wesly more aware of the blood rushing though her. He could hear her heart slam in her chest.
"I'm glad to have you two as neighbors. We will get along very well." Wesly smiled warmly again to them not wanting them to get scared of him.
They left and Wesly took the plate of cookies to the counter and placed them there where he would have to put in the trash later. But he would have give back the black plate that the cookies came on.
Carrie and Jessie walked back to there house that was much bigger then the one Wesly was staying in. Jessie looked at Carrie and Carrie had a hand over her chest. But she didn't look like she was in pain but if she liked him. Jessie knew thats what it was. "Hes too old for you." Jessie said knowing Carrie.
Carrie looked at her mom. damn she thought. "Every guy I like is too old for me."
"Well this time I am right he is to old for you. But I am not going to deny that he is gorgeous." They were in there house where they thought Wesly couldn't hear them.
"You never approve of any of the guy I have dated or have liked. It's no fair." Carrie said and then mocked her mother.
"Don't mock me." Jessie said with her hands on her hips.
Carrie rolled her eyes. "Don't mock me." She said in a higher voice.
Jessie let out a grunt and went to clean up the cookie mess. She notest that she left Wesly house keys on the counter where she had made the attempt to give them to her. "Carrie." Jessie yelled out.
"You don't need to yell out my name I'm been right here the hold time." Carrie was a little annoyed with her mother.
"Could you take Wesly's keys to him. I forgot to take them." Jessie said washing the dishes.
Carrie was more then happy to do that. "Sure." She said happily. Carrie went to the keys on the counter and started to head out the door. Carrie ran to Wesly's house. She stopped at runinng at the once she was at the door. She knocked on the door and within seconds Wesly was at the door.
"Yes." Wesly said with a smile.
At first she could only stare at him but then she remember why she had come. "My mother forgot your keys." She said and pulled the keys out from her pocket and handed them to him.
"Thank you." Wesly said and took the keys. "Can't forget them."
Carrie giggled like a little girl. "No you can't." Carrie looked at him. He had black hair that was about to his shoulder's but it fit him well. He looked like kinda emoish. But Carrie hated to put labels on anyone. "Well see you later." She said and ran back to her house.
Wesly put the keys in his pocket and when about his house to put things in the places he wanted them to be. After he did that he was going to go out for a few house but he had to make sure that Jessie or Carrie didn't see him live the house so he used speed that blurred him. No human eye could see him when he was using that speed.
He headed out to see what he could find in the park.
It was on the weekend and Carrie had her best friend over to stay the night. It had been at lest a three months had passed by. Carrie notest that Wesly was alway out of town or he was not even home. But she had gotten to know Wesly and Carrie had the biggest crush on him.
"So." Her best friend started to say. "Do you have a crush on anyone."
Carrie looked down and blush a deep red color. "Yes I do. Hes so fine It's not funny."
"You always have a crush on someone. who is it this time."Lilyan said.
Carrie sighed. " My neighbor."
"You have to be kidding." Lilyan said.
"No."
"What does he look like." Lilyan asked and just about bounced off the the bed. Wanting to hear every thing about him.
"Well he has long back hair and his eyes are not blue or green or brown like I've most do. He has gray eyes. And the one thing I have never seen he has never been out in the sun...well it looks that way."
"Eww long hair." Lilyan said
"Not that long you dork. Like shoulder length. He looks very....emo."
Lilyan looked into Carries eyes. "Ok well thats not bad. As much as I hate the word emo I am a sucker for emo guys." She sighed. "When is your mom going to be back, shes been at the store a long time."
"You know how she is. She likes to look at every thing and anything thats in the store." Carrie and a little bored.
Lilyan started to pace the room for a idea. So they could do something other then sit here and loaf around. "Hey let go visit your neighbor. I really want to see what he looks like."
"He might not be home. But we can try." Carrie said and ran out of her room. Lilyan fallowed.
They went out side and went to the Wesly's house. When they went to the house they saw the door open. Carrie wondered if he forgot to close the door when the went out. But why would someone do that.
"Hello Wesly. Are you here." Carrie said. They went in, Carrie never seen in side of his house before. Wesly had a lot of books. Five or six book shelfs full of books.
Carrie liked to read but he just had stacks and stacks of books and a good part of them were vampire books. Carrie saw he also had many black and white pictures hanging on his wall. She came to one picture that wasn't on the wall she picked it up and she saw the people who were in it. She looked at the picture and she saw one boy that looked just like Wesly in every way. Same hair same mouth, same hair. She flipped the back of the photograph and she read. Me age 16 . One year before I became a vampire. Carrie didn't know what to think when she saw the back. Vampire what did this all mean.
"Lilyan come here." Carrie called out to Lilyan.
"What is it." Lilyan said. She looked at the picture and she could have sworn she saw the picture some where in a history book. "I've seen this in somewhere. Yes I Washington state history book. At the time we were reading about Seattle and this same picture was in it."
"Well the weird thing is that Wesly looks just like this and on the back it said Me age 16. One year before I became a vampire." Carrie flipped the picture over and let Lilyan read it.
"This picture has to be very old." Lilyan guessed. "But the writing on the back is whats weird. Everyone knows that there is no such things as vampires. They only exist in movies and in books."
Carrie was trying to think of answer to it. "But why would someone write that on the back of a picture. There has to be a explanation to this." Then Carrie looked around and thought she heard something. "We better get out of here before he comes back." They put back the picture where it was and ran back to the house.
As Wesly was in the hall way of his house. He had Heard every word Carrie and Lilyan had said. Now he needed to be careful about what he left out. Wesly couldn't afforded to let his one secret, the only secret he had out. Even though he has never meet any other vampires. He wasn't going to take the chance of getting into trouble.
Wesly slowly walked over to the picture that they found and tore it up. He didn't want to but he had to. It was the only picture he had of his mother and father and he missed them so much.
Carrie stayed up all night waiting for her mother. But her mother never came back. Lilyan went home. What could have kept her mother from coming home, did you get into a car crash or did someone page her from hospital. Carrie ran down stairs to the phone to call the cops. Just as she had the phone in her hands there was a knock on the door that sent her heart pounding. She moved to the door with shaky arms and legs and opened the door.
Right in fount of her stood a cop. Her heart was being so fast she could hear it in her head.
"Carrie White." The cop said. Her voice small.
Carrie looked at the cop with wide eyes. "Yes." Carrie said in a small voice.
"Your mother was in a car accident and I'm sorry to say that she died on the spot and by law I have to take you." The cop said.
Carrie didn't want to go with the cop. Carrie wanted to go up to her room and cry her heart out. But Carrie didn't know if she had any more tears left after her father died less then six months ago.
Then out of no where Wesly was standing right next to the cop.
"What seems to be wrong officer." Wesly said with a smile the no one could refuses, then he made the cop feel warm and fuzzy about telling him what was going on. Wesly after a few decades found out that he could feel other peoples emotions and could make them feel anyway he wanted them to feel like.
"Her mother got into a car crash and died on the spot and by law I have to take her into foster care unless there are family members that would take her but I didn't see any family members when I checked into it." The cop said.
"I'm sorry Carrie that your mother died." Wesly felt the sorrow in her. Wesly put a warm feeling in Carrie. He could tell that she was going into tears. "I can take her in." Wesly said. He looked at the cop with eyes that no one could turn down.
Wesly knew Carrie enough that she wouldn't want to be put into foster care and would rather stay with Wesly. Plus Carrie didn't have any family members that she could go to.
Carrie looked at Wesly. The one person she liked was trying to keep her in his care. She liked the idea. Then she notest that it was in the middle of the day and he was standing there. Didn't vampires sleep in coffins and come out in the night time because the daylight burned them. Maybe he was just obsessed with vampires and wanted to be one or maybe it was just really bad dream that she couldn't wake up from. How could she say think that he could be obsessed with vampires when she liked them herself. She didn't wish that she were one. She couldn't bare the thought of living forever and drinking blood. But then she would like the power that came with it. But living forever would suck.
"You would really do that Wesly." Carrie said with over joy in her voice.
Wesly smiled. "Officer would I be able to have full custody over Carrie White. Her mother and I were close and she left me a will that if anything should happen to her that I would be the one to get Carrie. If you have need of proof of this will I'll go get the paper that she left me." It was true that Jessie did leave a will with Wesly. She had said that he was the only one that could take care of Carrie and that closest thing they had to family was Wesly.
Wesly didn't know what to think about this but it had ment that Jessie that trust in him and he didn't want to lose that with her so he took the will and kept the paper in a place that no one would find it.
"Please I must see this will that she has so kindly left with you." The cop said.
Wesly walked slowly for him to his house. As soon as he was in his house he went to go get the paper that was left in his care. Wesly took the letter and moved slowly out to where Carrie and the cop were.
The officer held out her hand and looked at the paper and sure enough it was a will she handed it to back to Wesly. "Well Carrie your mother sure enough left a will with...."
"Wesly Wright." he said with a smile that showed teeth. His fangs showed and he saw Carries eyes pop open as if she saw a ghost. As soon as Carrie saw that Wesly smile faded and his lips pressed into a hard line. Waiting for what the cop was going to say.
After that everything went though that was to be done so Wesly could have full custody of Carrie. Carrie couldn't get over her mother being dead. Wesly told Carrie that she went to a better place and that they were going to have a funeral. One where they were going to remember Jessie by.
One thing that Carrie wishes now that she would have payed more attention to what her mother said and less time doing what she wanted. She wished that she could take back all of the mocking she did and all of the hard times she gave her mother.
Wesly moved into the house that Jessie and Carrie lived in and took over and moved everything and made everything they way he wanted it to be in the house.
"Carrie are you ready to go." Wesly said knocking on the door of her room. Wesly could feel the heavy sorrow in her.
Carrie was ready but she didn't want to go and see her mother she didn't want to remember her mother laying in the coffin. The police said that there was no blood or chopping of Jessie's body only that she simply died when she hit the telephone pole. "Do I have to go. I really don't want to remember my mother that way. Seeing her dead in her coffin." Carrie said in a sad tone almost ready to cry.
Wesly walked in and saw her in a ball in the middle of her bed. Her face almost blood red because she was just about in tears. "No you don't have to go. I can understand why you wouldn't want to go but I have to go." Wesly sighed and went over to Carrie and sat next to her. He put his arm around her and held her.
Carrie clung to him like there was no life left in the world.
"Know how you feel. My mother and father died when I was young too." Wesly said. Is what really happen is that the vampire who turned him left Wesly in his room to suffer. After he turned he murder his mother and father because he couldn't control him self.
"She did."Carrie's voice broke. "I miss her so much and now I have no body."
"Thats not true. You have me. I took you in. If I didn't you would most likely be in a foster home." Wesly made a point.
Carrie sighed she knew it was true. "Your right and I should be there at the funeral."
"Are you sure you want to go." Wesly asked with a small voice.
Carrie looked at Wesly. She looked in his silver eyes. "It's what my mom would have wanted." She smiled and moved away from his icy arms. Carrie knew from now on was going to be a new start.
"Ok Lets go." Wesly said and headed out the door.
When they got to the funeral many of Jessie's work friends were there. Everybody was wearing black, but the only one who didn't want to wear black was Carrie. Even though most of what she wore was black, she knew that she had white somewhere in her closet. Carrie thought wearing white was better then wearing black because it brought happyness to her death.
As the last words were being said Wesly looked at Jessie. She was deathly white. Wesly looked at her face then looked at her neck. What he saw was not a sight he wanted to see. He saw bite marks on Jessie neck they were well hidden under the collar. But it was there. Almost not visible. Now he knew that a car crash didn't kill Carries mother it was a vampire.
