The winds howl a eerie groan almost as if it was wailing in pain. The tree swayed against the wind.
'Something is going to happen.' Ave whispered as she tightened the blanket around herself. I glanced down at her and nodded it did feel as if something important was going to happen.
'Aiden…' I looked at her questionably wondering what had her so uneasy. 'Can you go do me a favor?'
I nodded. 'What do you need?'
'I need herbs from the glen down by the brook about a mile away…and they will be nice and fresh now that it's raining.' She replies gently as her eyes dart through the woods looking for something.
'Ok.' I smiled and ruffled her soft hair as I shrugged into my coat and trudged out into the down pour.
I watched him leave and found it hard to say goodbye like this. I let the blanket slid out of my hands an pool at my feet I slid out of my shoes and waited till he was out of sight I opened all the windows of the house and changed into the white gown my mothers, mother had made for this day. I swallowed a lump in my throat and stepped outside the cold water stinging my skin as it soaked into the thin material I glanced down finding the gown had molded itself to my curves. I tipped my head back letting the cold water run over me opening my arms I was ready for death to come.
Closing my eyes when I hear the soft footsteps of them surrounding me I gathered my strength and looked around cloaked figurers stood looking at me I trembled slightly my bottom lip quivering. The cold I told myself as a violent shiver ran through me. I was close to tears.
'Ave' came one of the voices scratchy and alarmingly soothing. 'Don't be afraid.' The one that spoke stepped towards me. I watched as it pulled out a long dagger I dare not move as it walked towards me with elegant grace. I tipped my head back making out a slight figure. A chiseled face, strong an muscular I gasped as I looked into those golden eyes. My heart beat ran loudly drowning out everything else.
I watched as his hand slashed through the air the dagger slicing through skin. I didn't feel any pain just the rush of warmth spilling out and drenching my gown red.
My legs crumpled I began to fall to the ground his arms where around me holding me I held my hand over my neck looking up at him in bewilderment. I began to get cold like all my warmth as leaving me I reached out to touch him. My arm is so heavy. 'Cold' I managed in a whispery voice.
'I know death isn't that bad its close' he whispered gently as he gathered me up in his arms. He became a blur his golden eyes glowed in the darkness.
My body goes limp my hand dropped to my side everything goes black.
