The Not So Best Birthday
Two days passed, and I barely saw Jayden. Truth be told I was a bit hurt. This only made me angrier. Had I become that dependent and soft? So I waited for my Birthday to creep along. June 21, a day before the big day, I got a call. One of J's friends Luce, called. She knew I was bored and upset, so she asked me to get out. I agreed, asking where we were going. She told me it was a surprise, and that I had to promise not to back out. I promised knowing I would regret it. I went over to her place at around 8ish. I yawned, ready for bed. She came and got me from the car and told me we were having a sleep over. "whatever" I said not pondering if this meant anything. Then she said she had another surprise for tomorrow.
---
I woke up to giggling and muttering. I sat up, running a hand through my hair. Something pounced on me and dragged me to her bathroom. I went along still delirious and sleepy. All that disapeared when searing hot water was sprayed on me. "sorry" Luce apologized. She put it to a more moderate temperature, before scrubbing my hide like a dirty cat. I yowled in protested and fought. She finally emerged proudly, while I followed half drowned. She fussed over my clothes before tearing them off and shoving several fucking dresses at me. Damn. Just great. I emerged feeling exposed and weird in a knee length light pink dress. I shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably. She made no comment Just stared at my legs. "How can you have such hairy legs?" she asked. "I haven't shaved in a little! OK?' I snapped. she shook her head, smiled devishly, then shoved me in with more dresses.
Dresses. The whole morning was filled with dresses. I was drowing in FUCKING DRESSES! Have I mentioned I abseloutly fucking hate those damn pieces of skimpy cloth? Well I do. Eventually she settled on a deep blue dress that matched my eyes at the moment. Personally I had no idea why she wanted me to have a dress. I disgruntedly accepted the inevetible. Shoes. She dragged me to a closet the size of a hallway and forced different shoes on me. Finally at 3ish she settled on a pair of blue pumps. They weren't that tall because I'm already like 6'2. She then let me changed and dragged me down stairs, outside.
My arms hurts.
She drove to a beauty parlor, to my dismay, and stopped. "Oh no no no nonononononononono!" I said my words blending together. "Oh yes yes yes! YOU PROMISED." she said devishly. I moaned. She dragged me in and had some lady look at me...
----
Torture. This was fucking mental and physical torture. They had waxed my legs and pits. I think they should have worn earplugs. They were now doing my makeup for some occasion I didn't know about. I could hear them giggling and whispering, but I could decipher it through the thropping pain. THIS is why I hate fashion. Too much pain. The say beauty is pain. More like pain is beauty. They finished and I limped outside as fast as I could. I jumped into the drivers side and didn't ever wait for Luce to close her door. I went to her home as fast as possible. She pounced on me and went to go grab my dress. After suiting up she put her own on. In truth I looked ok, but Luce couldn't stop raving about how good I looked. I hooked a strand of hair arounf my finger and twirled it to join my other ringlets.
-----
"Holy, fucking shit, that bastard!" I said smiling. Our house was totally decked out with people, drinks, music, god knows what else. I mean I was just turnung 17. Not one fucking big deal. "That asshole, that bitch" I said affectionetly, still not believing he had planned this. I walked down a red carpet. I mean seriously. There was one red fucking carpet. Everyone looked and smiled at me. I sorta smiled back. I nearly fainted when I saw the mountain of presents, but Jayden caught me. "You look beautiful" he whispered silkily in my ear."happy birthday Jamie." I smiled. "You wish you knew how good I look." I said. "And how do you know that I don't" he said smirking. "because" I said turning aorund to whisper in his ear. "You haven't seen me dance slowly.
He turned toward the dance floor and we went over. This party seemed kinda formal. He wore a tux while everyone else did, or well a dress. Disgusting things dresses, but I'll make an exception this once. Don't tell my mother. Colbie Caillat's bubbly played and I laid my head on his shoulder. One arm trailed down my back to my hips and I stiffened as it passed over my back. He smirked. I relaxed when they rested on my hips. We danced and sorda swayed to the music. I looked up into his eyes and he said "I love you." "I love you too." I said. Then we kissed. It wasn't a 'Hi!' kiss. It wasn't a 'Good morning' kiss. Nor was it a teasing kiss. It was a mind blowing, heart smashing, exuberent, butterfly filled, gut wrenching kiss. Theres a differance. We kissed with so much passion I was surprised that no one noticed.
After a couple more songs, dances, and kisses, we sat down. I watched the people dance with there partner and giggle at secret jokes. "Want something to drink?" he asked flipping his hair out of his face. "Sure" I replied smiling. "What will it be?" "Something tropical." I answered thoughtully. He nodded and walked away.
Jayden's P.O.V
I walked towards the refreshment table and picked up a cup. Some guy sidled up to me and started to pour some punch in a cup. I mimicked him. "So your the lucky guy with the birthday girl?" he asked casually. "Yep" I said happily. He turned around and leaned on the table, drinking the punch. "Shes got some crazy shit up in her past, am I right?" he said. "What?"' I asked caught off gaurd. He lowered the cup. "You mean you don't know?" he smiled, but it wawsn't that nice of a smile. He sipped his drink, clearly enjoying my ignorance. Irritating, this guy. I cracked my knuckles out of habit and shifted from foot to foot. He considered me, smirking. "Well that sly fox. She always was the smartest, clever, but stupid in her own way." he chuckled. He was seriosuly getting on my last fucking nerve. That bastard. "If you don't know, you should ask her, by the way the names B.B., as in the gun." he smiled and walked away, weaving throught the crowds. I walked back slowly.
"Hey!" she waved. I walked over, heart heavy. "Whats up" she asked concerned. "I don't know, maybe you should tell me?" I answered somewhat more riled then I relized. she looked confused. "This guy-" I jabbed a thumb towards the drinks. "Told me your hiding something." she avoided my eyes and twiddled with her thumbs. "Said his name was B.B. like th-" she head snapped up at the name. "You met B.B.?! Where is he?" she craned her neck anxiously excited. I put my hand on her shoulder. "That doesn't matter." I spat. "What the fuck are you hiding?!" she looked at me sadly then grabbed my hand. She led me outside to the ocean. "I'm adopted." she told me when we sat down. "I-" "don't say anything till I'm finished." "k' I mumbled. "well I was adopted a couple times..." her eyes hardened and her story began.
