Chapter 4
Phillip was on the ground hiding his face from Eli’s savage blows. Quill jumped on top of Eli punching his back like a punching bag. I told Thomas to get Quill and Eli off of Phillip. Nathan held back Quill while Thomas pushed Eli back over to his gang. I helped Phillip up.
“Ok what the hell was that?” I asked Eli.
He puffed his chest and just left the area with no comment.
“Does anyone else know?” I ask the Surayliens.
“I told him that the guy who had his arm around you was the one who you were cuddling.” Muscle monkey smirks.
“Oh joy, thanks for that. And for your information we were not cuddling. He’s like a brother to me and he thinks of me as his little sister so it would be pretty gross.”I turn back to my group and motion us to go back to camp.
We all walked in silence. It was really awkward.
“Ok let’s put away everything we need to leave in half an hour at the most.” Thomas takes command since I wasn’t going to say anything.
I folded the blankets into a pile and stuffed them in a backpack.
Eli was trouble and I didn’t want any part of his life. All he brought was drama. How can I have feelings for him when it’s barely been a couple of days? It’s probably my hormones. I think it’s just an attraction and he probably just wants to get into my pants. If he tried to do something like that I would cut his balls off.
It hasn’t even been ten minutes when Eli approaches. I give him the evil eye and go back to packing. He clears his throat but I ignore him.
“Uh-I wanted to-um-ask you guys if we could tag along because we’re heading north too.”He says nervously.
I turn to Thomas and shake my head ‘no’. He contemplates it for a moment before replying.”Sure.”
Eli thanks him and goes to get his gang. I stare at him mouth open, eyes wide.
“What did you just do?” I yell at him.
He smiles and goes back to packing.
“You know I don’t like them why in the world would you invite them to come with us? This is messed up Thomas!”
“No it’s not. We need them because we don’t know what’s ahead of us because we’ve never been to the north. They have.”
I can’t argue with his logic but I sure don’t have to like it.

So here I am. Trudging through a never ending forest with Eli. I’m moody and want to scream at the world for its bad karma. But I don’t. I stay quiet.
Finally after forever we found civilization. An empty neighborhood to be exact.
“Where are we?” I ask voicing everyone’s question.
“I think this is South Surine. Let’s keep going.”Zane says.
