Don't Cross This Line

Novel By: ChildishLove
Romance

Crystal Knight and Landon Parks absolutely HATE each other.
Ever since they were babies, they took one look at each other and cried their heads off.

Their parents being best friends did NOT help their all-hate relationship.
The fact that they lived right next to each other made matters worse.

Landon has always been the popular one. He's always been that one guy that every girl fantasizes about.

Of course, Crystal isn't exactly the un-popular one here.
Hell, she's almost as popular as Landon.

Their worlds get turned upside-down however, when their Chemistry class has officially decided to go camping in the woods, for a week.
And Crystal and Landon are in the same group. Bummer?

Both deciding that ignoring each other is the way to go, things get heated up when they have to share the same cabin.
Taping the floor, they glared at each other and simultaneously said,
"Don't cross this line." View table of contents...

I woke up to sunshine peeking from my windows. I blinked and groaned.
Monday. Fuck fuck fuck fuck. I had always hated Mondays.

I sighed and dragged myself out of bed. Scuffling over to the bathroom, I opened the door to reveal my brother, Logan, standing in front of the sink in just his boxers, shaving.
I face palmed myself.

"You're such a lovely sight." I said, my voice cracking.
His eyes flicked over to me. "You look horrible." he said in disgust.

I rolled my eyes. As expected from my brother on a Monday morning.
"And you don't?" I said exasperated.
I stepped inside the bathroom, my feet meeting the cold tiles.

"Oh, by the way, I won't be able to drive you to school today." he suddenly said.
I stared at him. "What? But, why?"
"Duty calls." he smirked.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Then how else am I going to get to school?"
"I don't know. Get a ride from Landon." he suggested.

A ride. From Landon Parks. Ha. Right.
Not saying anything, I left the bathroom.
If worst comes to worst, I'll have to ask him.

Sighing, I went up to my room and changed into a hoodie and skinny jeans.
I quickly brushed my hair and grabbed my bag. I glanced at the clock and panic sifled through me.
"Shit!" I screamed.
Quickly running downstairs, I greeted my parents a 'Good Morning' and left the house, slamming the door behind me.

I looked around. The only car in our family was Logan's car. And since he couldn't drive me, the only way was to take the bus. But the bus takes about 15 minutes to wait, and I didn't have time.

Groaning, I slumped down on the sidewalk. I suddenly heard my name being called.

"Knight?"
I looked up and saw Logan Parks standing there, hand ruffling his hair. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
I glared at him, but then sighed.

"Look. I'm late to school, and my brother can't drive me. So, I was wondering if...?" I bit my lip, hoping.
He stared at me, then groaned. "Fine. Hop in." he mumbled.
Smiling, we strode over to his car, and I hopped into the passenger's seat.

The car smelled of pine. I inhaled deeply as Landon plopped down in the driver's seat.
There was an awkward silence as he started up the car and started driving.

I looked around. It was very tidy. Not at all like what I imagined.
"Not like what you imagined, right?" he smirked. I glared at him.

"It's....nice." I drew out. Can this boy read minds or something?

The rest of the drive was silent. We got to school and I hopped out, mumbling a 'thanks'.
"No problem. Knight." He smiled, then drove away.

"Crys. Was that Landon Parks?" I heard a voice whisper behind me.
I turned around and saw my friend Dolly Malford. "Yeah." I grimaced, knowing what was coming.

She stared at me and then started shrieking.
"Oh my god, oh my god! Are you guys you know, like, together?" she shrieked.
I winced.
"Dolly. Dolly. Shut up." I yelled. She stopped jumping up and down, then frowned.
"We aren't together. I needed a ride to school and I was late, so I asked him." I explained.
"Well, what about Logan?" she asked.
"He said something about 'Duty Calls'." I rolled my eyes.
Dolly nodded. "Well, we should get to class. What's our first class?" she asked me.

I racked my brain. "I think it was Chemistry." I replied.
She groaned. "Well, let's' get going." Dolly dragged me inside the school.

"Don't you think Landon's so hot?" she said as we walked side by side to the lab.
"No." I grumbled.

Actually, inside, I knew that Landon was possibly the hottest guy on Earth.
Chocolate brown hair and emerald green eyes, girls worshipped him.

"Oh, Crys." she suddenly said, brightening. "Aren't we supposed to be going to camp next week?"
I lightened up. "Oh yeah, I forgot! We're supposed to pick our groups today, right?" I smiled.

Mr. Howard, our Chemistry teacher, informed us a few weeks ago that we were supposed to be camping outdoors for a week for experiments or something.

We arrived at the lab and slid in our seats. "I hope we get into the same group as Daniel.." she said, her eyes glazed.
I rolled my eyes. All Dolly ever talks about was boys.

The teacher came in, ending our conversation.
"Alright, next week, we're going to be going to Oaks River for our project. Now, I'm going to divide you into groups and then explain what we're going to be doing..." he droned on and on.
I tapped my fingers, waiting for him to divide us into groups.

"Alright, the groups would be formed with 2 girls and 2 boys. I'll be calling your names and group you are going to be in."

I sighed in relief as he finished droning, and took out his binder.

"Henry Lord, Sophie Merick, Nate Cross, and Danielle Hans. You guys are going to be Group A." he called out.
I waited for my name to be called out. I could see Dolly with her fingers crossed beside me.

"...and Larry Grey. You guys are going to be in Group B." he said.

Come on, come on.

"Crystal Knight, Daniel Garrison, Dolly Malford, and Landon Parks. You guys are going to be in Group C."

I heard Dolly shriek out loud. Everyone stared at her. "Sorry." she squeaked.
"Oh my god. Crys. We're in the same group as Landon Parks! THE Landon Parks." she squealed next to me.

I didn't hear a word she said. Landon Parks. I'm in the same group as Landon Parks. We're going to be in together for a week.
Panic sifled through me. This can't be happening. I put my face in my hands.

"Crys, what's wrong?" she asked, poking me.
I looked up, and glared at her. She stopped.
Landon caught my eye. His face was gloomy. I groaned, and put my face in my hands again.
