Silently, I trudged over to the exit of the park and began the walk up the road to my house. I heard a door slam and I sighed heavily to myself. Finally, I reached the door to my house. Reluctantly, I opened the door and stepped in.
"I'm home!" I yelled.
"Hey babeh!" My mum called drunkenly. I shook my head slowly and trudged upstairs. I kicked my trainers off and fell back onto my bed. I heard my little sister, Jenny, squeal in delight as she came plodding into the room like a penguin. I smiled slightly as she came over to me and laid down next to me on my bed. I closed my eyes and thought about Lucy. Beautiful, beautiful Lucy. I felt a grin spread across my face. I could literally hear her sweet, soft calming voice echoing over and over again in my ears.
"Bennyy!" Lucy's angelic voice was overruled by my mums drunken slurring. My expression disappeared from my face completely as did my happiness.
"What, mum?!" I answered, my voice showing my irritation.
"Your dad is being a cunt again. He thinks I should stop drinking! Can you believe that?! He said if I don't stop then he'll chuck me out onto the streets! What do you think I should do?" My mums voice was more sober now than when I'd first came in. I opened my eyes and glared at her.
"You need to stop drinking mum," I replied numbly and closing my eyes again, wishing she would just go away.
"Really? Why?" She asked me. I sighed and inwardly shook my head.
"Because you have a drinking problem. And I met a girl today but until you are sober, she can't step foot anywhere near this house or even know the slightest detail about where I live!" I said, annoyed.
"Really babe? Okay then, I'll see a councillor (sp?) and I'll stop drinking. I can't wait to meet this girl!" my mum replied excitedly and I heard her footsteps finally leaving my room. Once her words had sunk in, I sat up immediately, my eyes widening.
"She is SO not meeting Lucy, EVER!" I said to myself whilst shaking my head, trying to clear my mum's words from my memory.
(A/N: I know it's really short and i aplogogise, next chapter is looking massive on word, it's like 5 pages long! So yeah, that's about it :D)..X
