“I’m dancing with tears in my eyes, just fighting to get through the night, I’m losing you, losing you, losing you, with every move i die,” My alarm clock blared out in my room, destroying the silence. I whacked my hand out to my side until it slammed down on the top of my alarm clock, silencing it. Knowing I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep now, I slowly sat up. I walked over to my wardrobe and scanned my eyes over my clothes, sadly, nothing stood out at me. It was my first day at school. I had to find something nice to wear! I looked out the window and saw it looked colder than yesterday. Finally, I decided on a pink tank top which had ‘Love’ written in white going diagonally down it and white skinny jeans with a pair of boots. I put in some red love heart earrings it and a bead bracelet which said ‘Love’ on it as well. I put on some light pink lipstick and pink eye-shadow and a little bit of mascara before looking at my hair. Lazily, I decided I would just leave it down. I went downstairs into the kitchen to meet Dave.
“D’you wanna ride?” Dave asked eyeing my clothes with a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“No thanks it’s fine, im walking with my friend,” I looked down at my clothes, “What’s so funny?”
“You really love the word ‘Love’ don’t you?” He chuckled teasingly and I playfully shoved his shoulder. PING! I walked over to the toaster, quickly grabbing the toast before Dave could.
“Thanks,” I grinned and sat down before buttering the toast. Dave shook his head while laughing. I smiled to myself while eating my breakfast. Suddenly, the doorbell rang and I looked up at the clock which read 8:00. My smile widened as I said goodbye to Dave and ran to the door. I opened it to see Ben wearing a tee and jeans. I smiled at him before walking out the door and closing it as quietly as possible behind me to stop the ‘young ones’ waking up.
“Hey,” I smiled.
“Yello!” He grinned, “Your first day today.”
“Unfortunately,” I chuckled and slung my arm through his. When we finally got to school it was 8:25, five minutes before school started. Ben walked -me to the office to get my timetable and locker combination. Ben took my timetable and scanned his eyes over all my lessons.
“Hey, we have tutor together and the same lessons apart from a few,” He grinned widely at me and I smiled, relieved. The first bell rang to signal the start of school. I sighed nervously as we walked, arm in arm, to our tutor. As soon we walked through the door, the first thing I noticed was that the teacher wasn’t there yet and it was chaos, however, I could easily pick out each of the cliques.
“So, over there are the popular tarts who are kinda gothic, over there are the chavs, there is the eco freako’s, the emo’s, the goody-two shoes, the bad-ass rebels, nerds, jocks, punks, skaters, cheerleaders, smokers, druggies, hippies,” Ben listed as he nodded in each direction as he said them, “And over there are just the normal averages, like us,” Ben smiled down at me and I grinned back. He took my hand as we walked over to them.
“Hey guys, this is Lucy,” Ben introduced me, grinning at me encouragingly.
“Hey,” I said shyly.
“Heeey!!” Simultaneously, they all said enthusiastically. I smiled at their excitement.
“I’m Sasha,” One of the girls said. I smiled at her as she smiled back. She had long blonde wavy hair with brown streaks. She was wearing black skinny jeans, a tee which had a picutre of the Black Patade album cover by My Chemical Romance on the front and white pumps.
“Ohmygod I love my chemical romance!” I exclaimed, hardly able to contain myself. They all chuckled, causing me to blush.
“Me too, they’re my favourite band!” Sasha replied.
“Same!” I agreed, smiling.
“Wanna sit next to me?” She asked, nodding towards the spare seat next to her.
“Sure!” I grinned and sat down next to her, glad I’d already made a friend.
“I’m Matt,” The boy facing us, in front of us said. He reached out with a closed fist (in a respect shape) out to me and I did the same. He had on and a black and white striped tee with black bagy jeans and white trainers.
“Hi,” I giggled.
“I’m Shaun,” The other boy said with a high-picthed tone. He was wearing a light pink shirt with a coral cardigan and white skinny jeans with white sandals. He had on light mascara, eyeliner and light pink sparkly lip gloss.
“Hey,” I grinned.
“OMG I love your top!” He shrieked in a high-pitched tone.
“Thanks,” I giggled and he immediately began blushing the same colour as his cardigan.
“So, what have you got first?” Sasha asked me. I shrugged before searching through my bag for my timetable.
“Double Art,” I sighed when I evenutally got it out.
“Me too!” She grinned. I grinned, suddenly excited.
“Which teacher?” Sasha asked me.
“Miss Jones, you?” I replied, hopeful to have a lesson with someone I knew, let alone one of my friends.
“Same!” She squealed, “There’s a spare seat next to me, I’m sure Miss Jones will let you sit next to me!”
“Awesome!” I grinned.
“What have you got after break?” Matt asked.
“English,” I replied.
“I have English!” Shaun squealed, “Mr Thompson?”
“Yep!” I smiled; glad I had friends in 4 of my lessons today.
“What about 5 and 6?” Shaun asked, happily.
“Maths,” I said, before Ben began grinning.
“I have Maths! Mrs Davies?” Ben asked, hopefully.
“Yes!” I shouted and we began laughing. I was so relieved I had each of my friends in each of my lessons today.
“Alright alright, in your seats everyone, silence!” The teacher said when he finally came in.
The 15 minutes of tutor went by quickly and before i knew it, the bell rang signalling 1st period.
"come on," Sasha grinned and gently grabbed my wrist before skipping out the room with me and down the corridor. After walking down 2 lots of stairs and 3 corridors, we finally came to the Artistic section of the school. Sasha pulled in the direction of a door which says AR2 on the front. As she opens the door a tall, freckly ginger woman greets us.
"Miss Jones, this is Lucy, she's new," Sasha explains to the teacher.
"Ah, i see, I'm Miss Jones," She says, turning to me with a friendly smile on her face.
"Hi," I say shyly smiling back.
"Could she sit next to me, please Miss? there's a spare seat next to me," Sasha asks, gesturing towards what i assume to be her seat.
"Oh course, Sasha," Miss Jones smiles again before turning to her desk, resuming whatever she was doing before we came in. Sasha led me towards two seat at the back of the class which were directly in front of the large sink. Due to us being the first here, we were given permission to talk since we couldn't begin the lesson yet with only two students. After a couple minutes, a boy with black hair with blue highlights in entered the room.
"Ah, Brett, where have you been?" Miss Jones asks him, expectantly.
"Sorry miss, my tutor kept us late handing out letters to people," Brett apologised and made his way towards us.
"Hey Sash," Brett greets Sasha.
"Heyy!" Sasha grins, excitedly as usual.
"Who's this?" Brett asks and smiling at me welcomingly.
"I'm Lucy," I reply and he grins.
"Brett," He says and gets onto the table and hops down on the other side so he is standing next to me. He pulls out the empty chair next to me and sits on after throwing his bag onto the floor.
"So is today your first day here?" Brett questions me whilst turning his body to face me.
"Yep," I answer, popping the 'P'.
"How is it so far?" Brett asks.
"Better than my old school," I grin.
"And where was his old school of yours?" Brett fires another question at me, seeming guinely interested.
"London," I smile.
"Oooooh We got a Londoner in our Californian parts!" Sasha squeals delightedly and throws her arms round me. I giggle uncontrollably and Brett joins in. After apporximately 5 minutes have passed, the whole class are in here and everyone is writing their names, title and the date on their A4 paper.
"so, today, we are going to be starting Manga. Today, i think we should start off with the most important part in Manga, and that is the characters eyes. Each of you have a sheet with many different types of manga eyes. I'd like you to attemp drawing them. Don't forget to draw the patches of light though!" Miss Jonas informs us as we all get to work.
After around 50 minutes, Miss Jones asks everyone to do 'Time to refine' where we write down on our papers how to improve parts and do it with a different coloured pencil.
"Woah! Your eyes look amazing, Luce!" Sasha exclaims, gazing at the many different manga-styled eyes i drew, causing me to blush wildly. Then, Miss Jones asks us to use the coloured pencil to shade the eye.
After 20 minutes, the bell finally goes, signalling break. As everyone pushes their way out of the classroom like wild beasts, something catches my eyes. A lock of bright, golden hair.I look up at the face and the face is even more flawless.
"Yes, newbie?" The gorgeous blonde says with an angelic voice.
"Sorry... i just... wow... you're stunning!" I gawp like a crazy fish, my mouth opening and shutting in amazement.
"You don't look too bad yourself," The blonde giggles and grins at me perfectly.
"Oi, bitch, stay away from the new meat, go fuck with someone else," I hear Sasha yell and i turn to see her and Brett wlaking over, Brett looking confused and Sasha looking well... like she's about to cut someone up into tiny pieces with an axe.
