2 Jamey “Hey man ” I seen Will, Summer's boyfriend, as he walked up to my locker. “Have you seen Summer or Amber?” I closed my locker. “Yeah, I'm going over to Amber's place when I leave here. And I don't know where Summer is.” “Okay, thanks man.” Will headed back down the hall. Will, I thought was okay. He's a nice guy and never gave any notion of cheating on Summer, or leaving her for someone else. Ben on the other hand, wasn't so trust worthy. I seen him not even 10 minutes ago smiling and talking to that new girl, Holly. Watch, when he hurts her, even only a little, they'll have to drag me off of him. What does Amber see in him? But she loves him, and I couldn't hurt her that way. Even if it meant I couldn't have her. Returning from my thoughts, I headed toward the big, front, double doors. Outside, Amber was waiting beside my truck. I couldn't help it. I don't any guy could have helped it. Amber had changed clothes. Instead of the jeans she had worn to school, she now had a pair of blue jean shorts on. Her shorts rested just above her upper thigh, showing off her evenly tanned, long legs. And her shirt wasn't helping either. Her shirt was neon blue and didn't show off a lot of cleavage. Not a lot, but enough to make it hard not to stare. “You ready to go to my place?” I nodded my head. I was trying so hard not to stare. Friends don't stare. “Kay, let's go.” She opened the door to the passenger side. After I got in and cranked the truck, she began messing with my radio. When she sat back, the talk show had gone off and some weird hip-hop music started playing. I reached for the button, switching it to my favorite country station. I know I'm weird, I like country music. When I leaned back, I seen she was staring at me. “What?” She continued to stare at me. I looked away before I could become lost in those blue jewels. “My truck, my music.” “Could you get any weirder? Country?” She paused, searching my face for an expression. “Let me guess, you have a name for your truck, too?” I smiled. “Ol' Blue.” Her smile dropped. Her expression serious. “Figured.” I stopped smiling. She had turned around looking out the window. I gently pulled her face back around “Amber, I was joking. Why in the hell would I name my truck? It's just a metal frame with a motor.” My heart sped when she smiled, flashing her perfectly set teeth. “Thank God. I thought you'd gone redneck on me there.” I feigned being hurt, and she smacked my arm. “You know what I mean!” “I know.” I started the truck again and backed out of the campus. When we reached a red light a looked at Amber. Her blonde hair reddened when the sunlight hit it at a certain angle. Her eyes glittered when the sun hit them. I was startled when a horn from behind sounded. I realized that the light was green and started moving before I earned anymore honks and fingers. Amber was looking around. “Why'd you get honked at?' “Because the light was green.” “Then why wasn't you going?” “Because I was looking at something else.” “And what was that?” I searched her eyes for some sort of emotion. I only saw amusement. “You.” Sorry for such a short chapter, Hope ya'll like it. I take criticism greatly. Thanks x Maddyleigh
