'Umm…Ryan, I like someone else,' replied Elizabeth gently. Ryan looked at Elizabeth, and she could tell that he was a little disappointed and angry with her.
'Is it Isaac?' Ryan asked angrily. Elizabeth put her head down before answering.
'Yes, I'm afraid it is,' replied Elizabeth.
'Ugh! I should have known! Why do you like him anyways?' asked Ryan curiously.
'Because, he's sweet and he's nice and I don't see him with a different girl all the time,' Elizabeth explained.
'Elizabeth, those girls where nothing compared to you; when we quit hanging out, I was very alone and felt very disappointed because I couldn't see you no more,' Ryan explained.
'Ryan, I didn't want to stop hanging out with you, but it seemed that you never wanted to hang with me, because you were always going on dates,' she explained to him.
'I'm sorry about that,' said Ryan. There was a short pause.
'Why don't we just be friends?' asked Elizabeth hopefully.
'Yeah, sure…friends,' replied Ryan as he sat down on the rock. Elizabeth rolled her eyes as she sat down beside him. 'So, you like Isaac, huh?' he smiled at her. Elizabeth gave a little chuckle and a smile.
'Yes, the first time that I ran into him at school, it was like love at first sight,' said Elizabeth. She looked out towards the river before continuing. 'But there's something weird about him, but it's a good kind of weird.'
'What do you mean?' Ryan asked.
'Well, when I asked him where he was from, he told me that he was from Nevaeh, I never heard of that place before,' replied Elizabeth.
'Did you search the name?' asked Ryan.
'No, I haven't had the time,' replied Elizabeth. There was another short pause, as Elizabeth thought about Isaac and what he was doing right now. Just then, Ryan's phone went off, and he got it out from his jean's pocket and seen that it was a text from Isaac.
'Oh, it's Isaac,' said Ryan as he read the text.
'Huh?' asked Elizabeth taken aback. She thought that it was really weird, because she was just thinking about him.
'He wants to know if I want to hang out with him,' replied Ryan.
'Sure, tell him to meet us at the rock,' said Elizabeth quickly. Ryan texted him the answer; his phone went off a few seconds later.
'He'll be here in ten minutes,' said Ryan as he put his phone away after reading the text.
Elizabeth was writing in her journal about the things that had been happening to her, and Ryan was playing with his phone when Isaac snuck up behind them. 'Hey guys,' said Isaac. They both jumped, but Ryan was the only one to yell. The other two just looked at him and laughed.
'Shut up! It just took me off guard,' said Ryan as he playfully pushed Elizabeth. Elizabeth turned to Isaac.
'Hey,' she smiled. He also returned the favor. As Ryan watched the two of them, he decided to leave them alone so they could talk.
'Well, I'm going to go. It's too lovey dovey here for me,' said Ryan as he jumped up from the rock.
'You don't have to go,' said Elizabeth.
'No, I do, and I have some studying to do anyways,' explained Ryan as he put his hands in his pockets.
'Alright, I'll see you later, I guess,' said Isaac.
'Yeah sure,' said Ryan before saying goodbye and leaving.
When Ryan was out of sight; Isaac sat down beside Elizabeth. 'So, this is your favorite spot?' asked Isaac as he leaned back on his hands and took in the beautiful surroundings.
'Yup,' replied Elizabeth as she looked out onto the river.
'Well, I'll have to come here more often, because it's so quiet here and very secluded,' explained Isaac. It was quiet for a few moments as Elizabeth thought about when she had her dizzy spell, and passed out, but not before seeing Isaac's face. She wanted to know how he knew she was there, because she didn't tell him about her secret place yet.
'Isaac, I was wondering…how'd you know that I was here, when I had my dizzy spell?' Elizabeth asked as she played with her notebook, and looked at it. There was silence for a few minutes. Elizabeth thought he must be trying to find a way to explain, when she heard some low mumbling. She looked, but couldn't understand where the mumbling was coming from. She also couldn't make it out, because it was too low. She finally turned and looked at Isaac, but he wasn't saying a word. But where was it coming from? Isaac must of seen the scared look on her face, because his face got worried to.
'What's the matter?' Isaac asked as he quickly sat up. Elizabeth didn't want to tell him that she was hearing voices, because she didn't want him to think she was crazy. Anyways, the voices stopped, and she didn't hear them anymore, which made her feel relieved.
'Nothing,' replied Elizabeth as she shook it off. 'So, are you going to answer my question?' she asked him.
'Ok…um,' began Isaac, but stopped. As the silence began again, Elizabeth could hear the mumbling.
'Where is that coming from?' asked Elizabeth as she frankly looked around. Isaac looked at her confusedly.
'What?' he asked.
'The voices,' replied Elizabeth. 'You don't hear that mumbling?' Isaac shook his head and just looked at her. 'Well, I did, but now it's gone.'
'Hmm.. don't know what it could have been,' said Isaac.
'Don't know either, but it's the first time I've ever heard it before,' said Elizabeth.
'I still like you, even know you hear voices,' chuckled Isaac as he gently padded Elizabeth on the shoulder.
'Shut up!' smiled Elizabeth.
'So, what were you and Ryan talking about?' asked Isaac being all serious now.
'Oh, I don't know if I should tell you, since you two are friends,' replied Elizabeth.
'Why? What happened?' asked Isaac concernedly.
'Oh, nothing bad…he just asked me if I would be his girlfriend, and I said no,' replied Elizabeth as she chuckled when she told Isaac.
'Oh really?' asked Isaac. Isaac was thinking about what Ryan was up to, because he knows that Isaac is supposed to be with Elizabeth, not the other way around.
'Yeah, I told him that I liked someone else,' said Elizabeth as she played with her shoes. She likes someone else? Hopefully it was him, Isaac thought to himself.
'So, who do you like?' asked Isaac. Elizabeth dropped what she was doing and looked at Isaac. She cleared her throat nervously.
'Oh, this one kid who is really nice to me, and treats me like a person,' Elizabeth said as she couldn't stop smiling, because she was talking about Isaac. She stared deep into Isaac's green eyes. Without noticing a few minutes went by, and they were leaning closer to each other. Before they knew it, they were locked in a deep passionate kiss.
When Elizabeth kissed Isaac, she could of sworn that she heard angels sing. It was also her first kiss, and it was a good, no, awesome kiss, with a very awesome guy. 'Wow,' whispered Elizabeth after the kiss was over.
'Yeah,' said Isaac a loss for words.
'That was my first kiss,' said Elizabeth, not knowing why she told him that. A smile spread on Isaac's face.
'Well, I like it that you liked it then,' he smiled. Elizabeth chuckled at this.
'I think Ryan might be a little upset when he finds out,' said Elizabeth a little worried.
'Nah, he'll be fine,' said Isaac. He took Elizabeth's hands gently in his and looked her in the eyes. 'Did you hear the angels singing when we kissed?'
'Yes, I thought I was just hearing things again,' said Elizabeth excitedly.
'Nope,' said Isaac.
'So, where does this leave us?' asked Elizabeth. She couldn't quit smiling, because she knew by that kiss, that they would spend the rest of their lives with each other. Isaac smiled at her before talking.
'Well, I guess there's only one question left to ask,' he began. 'Elizabeth, will you be my girlfriend?'
Elizabeth smiled even bigger at this question. She couldn't believe this would happen. 'Yeess,' shrieked Elizabeth as she excitedly hugged Isaac and he hugged her back. They kissed again.
'Are you sure your ready for this?' asked Isaac. She looked Isaac right in the eyes before talking.
'Yes, Isaac…I will go to the ends of the earth for you. I will even fight demons for you,' said Elizabeth.
'Okay, Okay,' smiled Isaac as he leaned in to kiss her again, but her cell phone from her pocket, and answered the ring. 'Hello?' she asked.
'DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?!' yelled Elizabeth's mother. Elizabeth had to hold the phone away from her ear. Isaac could hear every word her mom was saying.
'Calm down, mom. I'm at the rock, I'll be home in a few minutes,' said Elizabeth calmly.
'YOU BETTER AND WHEN YOU GET HOME, WE NEED TO TALK!' yelled Elizabeth's mom before hanging up the phone.
'I think she's mad,' said Isaac.
'Ey, she'll calm down,' said Elizabeth as she got up.
'Well, I'll walk you home,' said Isaac as he took Elizabeth's hand, and they walked toward her house.
