The drive down to my mother's place was mostly quiet other than than the constant chatter of the kids. Part of me still didn't feel right and I didn't like it in the least. I wondered how it could be that she could walk just like him, be just like him. It played in the back of my mind the whole six hour trip down. When the truck stopped I heard the squeals from both my children and my parents and put on a brave face for them both. I waited until I heard the truck door open. Molly started to growl, but the redneck drawl made me smile.

"Oh stop you big shit. I want my daughter, not you." He grasped my hand and pulled me out of the truck gently and placed me on the ground. I giggled as he put his arm around me and led me towards the house. I stopped for a moment and stuttered.

"What about the kids? I need to help get them into the house Dad, please?" He laughed.

"Your mom and that guy are getting them, don't worry everything is alright." I felt him pull me in the direction of the house. "You know that your sister is here, but we figured to surprise you you with a few more people as well. It has been a long time since you have been home. I hope you don't mind, I know it is going to be a lot of commotion, but I promise tonight it will be quiet tonight. I think we will initiate the new guy into the family."

I laughed then. "I take it ten rounds of bullshit to go with ten rounds of crown. I can't wait to hear how this goes. By the way Daddy dearest his name is Rick and you will call him as such. I will give him the run down on how to play at some point today, now what have you gotten me into?"

He laughed. "We invited Crys, Dan, Spaz and a few other friends. They have all missed you so much. I promise they aren't going to attack you all at once, they all promised, but they do want to see you. Now how about we get you in, get you a drink, wrap that guy back around you and get that mut of yours back at your side. The kids will have more than enough playmates here to play with. Now come with the adults and talk for a while, we have someone to keep watch on the kids."

I heard a squeal and a scream and knew who it was in a minute. "Spaz, Crys holy crap. I missed you so much." They came over to me slowly and hugged me tightly. I hugged them back and laughed. "It is so good to see you, well you know what I mean. How are things going guys?"

Crys laughed. "Jay misses her aunt and cousins so much that she cries. What else am I supposed to say, it is same ole same ole chica. I was just making up the crying thing by the way. We do all miss you though."

Spaz laughed. "Alright right Crys, back off hun. "Things are great Mary is getting so big and Dan comes around to see her all the time even though we aren't together anymore. I know your co-worker's name was Dan so I am kind of worried about how things are between you two. That is why he has stayed back. If you would like to see him, let me know and I will go get him for you."

I nodded. "Things aren't different between him and I because of what went down so you can bet I want to see him, well talk to him. That is unless he wants me to roll him down the hill in a trash can again."

That sent everyone into fits of laughter. It was hours later when everyone finally cleared out and I was exhausted but the night was far from over. My family hadn't had a chance to really get to know Rick yet and he had to pass the ten for ten test my father was going to give him.

Hoo boy it was going to be a long night.
