We made it home well after three am me covered in his shirt and my clothes in my hands. We were as quiet as could be as we snuck into the room. I was greeted with a cold nose to my hand so I petted Molly before I moved over towards the bed. I felt around on the nightstand and finally found my hair tie. I put my hair up and crawled into bed when I felt a small body already there.

I nearly jumped back and screamed. I put my hand over my mouth and took a deep breath before I went back towards the bed and felt the body of my daughter Tori in the bed. She took a deep breath and rolled over. I slipped into bed and wrapped my arms around Tori as I snuggled her against me. I felt the bed move and Rick's arms went around me making me feel so alive and safe. I loved him more than I ever knew was possible. I closed my eyes and fell asleep to him humming the song I had sung earlier.....

Tori stirred in my arms, but I couldn't make myself move to wake up with her. I heard whispering around me but paid it no heed. I felt the bed shift as I heard a knock on the door. I put a pillow over my head and moaned as I rolled over. Two nights with little to no sleep and a lot of activity made me so sleepy that I just didn't have the energy to get up. All of a sudden the room was silent except for the sound of Molly's breathing on the chest at the end of the bed. I smiled to myself as I closed my eyes again and fell back to sleep....

When I finally awoke I smiled to myself and stretched out. I heard a panting next to me and I put my hand out for Molly. She nudged my hand and put something soft over my arm. I sat up and felt the fabric. I giggled to myself as I got up and stripped down then wrapped a towel around myself. I moved into the hallway and quickly into the bathroom for a quick shower. One thing that had never changed at my mother's house was the spare bathroom. I dropped all my things down on the side of the sink and started the bath.

I sank into the water and felt it envelope me. I sighed with relief and let it wash over me. Things were wonderful in that moment and I never wanted them to end. I stayed in the bath for about an hour before I got out and got dressed. I wistled as I left the bathroom and called Molly to my side. I had her guide me into the living room where I stood in the middle of the floor and listened to what was around me. Outside I could hear the kids playing and squealing so I went that way first.

As I opened the door I heard a bunch of voices surround me and Tori and Teagan's wet bodies assulted me as my feet hit the porch. I giggled and hugged them back.

"Are you two playing in the sprinkler by chance?" I heard giggles and heavy footsteps come from the side of me.

"Of course they are. We needed to distract them while we put some pieces of the deck together." My Dad's voice rang clear throughout the back yard.

"Why was Tori here when we got in? I thought that Mel was taking them for the night?"

My dad came and put a sweaty arm around me. "Tori didn't want to be away from us so she started screaming up a storm. Mel asked us to come pick them up since they were keeping Layton awake. We didn't mind. I didn't know she snuck into y'all's bed. I'm sorry."

I shook my head. "No dad it wasn't a problem at all. Just a shock that was all. Now get back to work, don't leave my fiance to do it all."

He laughed and walked away. For once it felt the weight of the world was off my shoulders and I couldn't have felt any more elated.
