The days passed in montony and self-pity. Before I knew it, I was swathed in my white gown with an elegant lace veil over my face. I had a death grip on a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath as I looked down in mortification. The wedding planner had been very right when he said that the little cleavage I had would be clearly visible. I covered my face with my hands. Kingsley's parents already hated me, now they were going to think I was playing whore just to get him interested. They already thought I was a notorious gold-digger, out for fame, fourtune, and royalty.

Suddenly, I wished very much that I had chosen my own wedding dress.

The organ player struck up the Bridal March and I straightened myself out. This wasn't the King's and Queen's wedding. This was Kingsley's. And since I couldn't be happy, I wanted to make him the happiest he could be.

The doors opened and I began to walk rhythmatically down the aisle. About halfway to the drooling Prince Kingsley, I revised my philosophy. I'd make him the happiest he could be...in reason.

"Do you, Prince Kingsley, take April Winters as your beloved wedded wife? To have and to hold, from this day forward. For better or for worse. For richer or for poorer. To have and to hold, to love and cherish, in sickness and in health, 'till death do you part?" the justice of the peace asked Kingsley with a smile on his face. Kingsley was no longer drooling over my breasts, but staring intently into my eyes. I was beginning to notice a knack of his: making me unbearably uncomfortable.

"I do," he said huskily and a pink blush crept up my cheeks.

The justice of the peace turned to me...and his smile turned into a grim, straight line.

"Do you, April Winters," he began, sneering-Oh great. It would be just my luck if he had a daughter that wanted to marry the Prince-"take Prince Kingsley as your beloved wedded husband? To have and to hold, from this day forward. For better or for worse. Forricher or forpoorer. To have and to hold, to love and cherish, in sickness and in health, 'till death do you part?" His emphasis on "richer" and "poorer" felt like a knife through my heart. If I didn't control myself, I'd run out of there bawling.

I noted that Kingsley noticed and understood the emphasizing and took a moment to glare at his parents in the front row before returning his gaze to me.

I swallowed. Suddenly, my throat became very dry. "Yes," I whispered, eyes lowering down to my feet. I heard the justice of the peace let out a frustrated, testy sigh.

"Fine," he said bitterly before returning to business. "I now prononce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Instantly, Kingsley's warm, rough fingertips flew to my chin. He tilted my head up and I saw the lust in his eyes. He lowered his head down towards mine and an uncomfortable revelation fell upon me.

"NO!" the King bellowed. It was too late. Kingsley covered my small lips with his and wrapped his arms around my tiny waist.

Just great,I thought sarcastically. I mentally sighed. It seems like he wants a kiss, so I'll give him a good one.I remembered my promise, even though nobody knew what I had sworn.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. I could feel the joy coursing through his body and he continued to kiss me until the justice of the peace coughed. We both came up for air right after that. Kingsley looked at me with such a hunger, I realized we were married. He could legally do things with me in bed now.

Needless to say, I was scared to death as we turned to wave at the wedding guests and walk down the aisle.
