Love is bright
But dark as day
Hearts wil cry
All those secrets
You were told
You believed them
Now your sold ...
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Lisa, happy birthday to you" the crowd of unknown people sang.
Staring at the huge cake with a candle on it that read 16 I looked into the flame and made a wish.
"Yay" everyone cheered as they scattered around the cake wanting their piece first.
My two sisters came out of the kitchen with paper plates and handed them to the guests, "what did you wish for?" my older sister Kathy asked twirling her hair with one finger.
"Can't tell it's a secret" I told her pressing one finger to my lips.
"Do you know who any of these people are?" I asked looking around at all the strangers.
"You'll know in time, for now lets go meet the most important person in your life starting today" she giggled.
Today I was meeting my future husband, that's right my future husband. You see when a girl in the Rose family turned sixteen they would meet there future husband, the scary part is that they are were wolves.
Pulling me through the crowd of people she led me to the garden outside, trees grew almost bigger than the house and flowers circled the fountain. There was a little glass house at the end and inside was the shape of a person.
"That's him" Kathy smiled.
Curiously looking at the figure in the glass house I could swear he was watching us.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, now go" she pushed me and walked away giggling.
There was nothing but silence out here and even though the lanterns were lit it was dark. The moon was out and thinking of those old superstitions about full moons and were wolves a smirk swept across my face.
"Hello?" I whispered at the frame of the door, it was dark and there were no lights. I couldn't see what he looked like.
"Hello, you must be Lisa Rose."
"Yeah" I laughed nervously "and you are?"
"My name is Sam Fletcher" he smiled warmly.
"Nice to meet you" I replied.
A howl suddenly broke through our conversation and Sam's head shot up following the sound.
"Sorry to do this but I have to go" he rushed his words.
"It must be urgent" I said quietly.
"I'll be back tomorrow and before I go happy birthday" he said taking my hand in his. It was warm and inviting as he gently kissed it he ran out in a blur leaving me speechless.
