Logan took me to a really fancy restaurant...like it was so fancy, I'd never heard of it! It was called Valentino and he had to drive all the way to Santa Monica! When we pulled up, a valet was waiting on us and he opened my door for me. I saw him eye me, and I wished that Logan would hurry to my side.
He gave the valet his keys and and held his arm out for me to hold on to. "This is a very nice place, Logan."
"Too nice? Because I can get my car and we can go to Mcdonald's or something." I thought that maybe he was joking, but I looked at him and he was all serious.
"No. It's fine. I wouldn't step foot in Mcdonald's wearing this!" I softly laughed and I felt Logan relax against me.
We walked into the door and was immediately escorted to a table by the window. Outside, there was a black fountain in the center of gardens, and I was mesmerized at the scenery.
"This is so beautiful!" Peering further into the window, I saw that there were benches aligning the perimeter of the fountain and couples were sitting there, throwing their loose change into the water.
Logan watched me from the opposite side and replied, "I thought you might like the gardens. You're a nature girl, aren't you?"
Blushing, I nodded. "Yeah. When I take pictures, that's what I like to do." A waiter came to our table and asked what signature wine we wanted. Logan shook his head and instead ordered sparkling grape juice.
When the waiter left, we both started laughing because we were both underage. "You should've let him give us wine," I said whining.
He looked at me funny and asked, "Have you tried wine?"
I shook my head and he continued, "I didn't think so. Grace, if I would've gave you wine...you would've been tipsy on me."
Defensively, I asked, "How do you know?"
"Do you want to find out?" Logan's expression was that of flirty and I knew he was daring me. After thinking about it for a long time, I responded, "Yes...bring on the wine!"
Logan waited until after we finished our entrees, before he ordered the wine. I had a simple plate of spaghetti, while Logan ordered this elaborate plate called Crostini. He let me try it but it wasn't very good to me.
We finished our dinners, and then the moment came. I was going to try wine. The waiter came back to collect our dishes and Logan ordered simple white wine.
He was right. After my first glass, my head felt fuzzy and the room was spinning. He watched me with amusement in his eyes. "Are you alright?"
I nodded and motioned for him to pour me another. He was hesitant. "I'm not sure you should have another, Grace."
"Pour me another, Logan. I can handle it." While holding my glass out, I hiccuped and giggled. Logan rolled his eyes and smiled.
I held up my glass and said, "I propose a toast. To finally having happiness!" Logan clicked his glass to mine and joined in, "cheers."
Logan watched me from across the table and stated, "You're so beautiful, Grace. I wish you weren't one of my students."
My buzz kinda went away with his comment, soI asked, "Why's that?"
I could tell he was carefully choosing his words, "Because...if we do go further in this relationship, it would have to be secret."
Sitting down my glass, I laid my hand on top of his. "I'm willing to keep it a secret...if you are." He smirked and replied, "Are you ready to see those gardens?"
I had had a total of 3 glasses of wine and Logan was having to hold my hand to keep my balance. Not only, was I losing my balance easily, I was talking nonsense.
"Logan, how old are you again?" I stood up onto one of the benches and walked across it like a balance beam.
He replied, "I'm 20." I lost my balance and he quickly caught me in his arms.
I looked deep into his gray eyes and ruined the moment by my uncontrollable giggling. He put me down and I immediately turned around to face him.
"Logan...do you want to go swimming?" Before Logan understood my offer, I took off to the fountain...kicking my shoes off in the process.
He took off after me yelling, "Grace! Um...I'm not sure that's a good idea."
...I was in the water. Something in my mind told me not to get my dress wet, so I stood where it was up to my ankles. "Come in with me Logan."
He had his hands stuffed in his pockets and shaking his head. "I knew giving you wine was a bad idea. C'mon." Logan hoisted me out of the water and carried me and my shoes to his car.
The wine's happy effects were starting to wear off as we drove back to town. I leaned my head against the window and kept whining about my headache.
"I told you." Logan had been saying that all the way down the interstate and I was getting frustrated. "Ok! I get it! I shouldn't have tried the wine. Happy?"
He glanced over at me with a cheesy grin on his face. "Yes. Yes I am." I playfully slapped his arm and made him veer to the right. Angry drivers blew their horns at us, but we didn't care.
"Who's the tipsy one now?" I teased.
Logan began laughing softly and then stopped. "Are you ready to go home?"
After a quiet moment, I replied, "No. Where are you taking me now?"
He had a playful look in his eyes when he stated, "My house."
