Just then the chime on the door went off and Missy and I looked up to see Matthew, oh my sweet Jesus

He looked at the board and then back at me
“ill have a black coffee and one of those” he said pointing to the mint chocolate cookies
“uh okay, that will be three twenty five” I said and he handed me a twenty
“keep the change” he said
“I cant keep all the change its way over the amount owing” I said and handed him back all his change he walked over to the far table and sat but I caught his glance a few times.

Missy not being able to control herself started laughing when I mouthed that he was my new neighbour when he looked down at his coffee.
“Jesse you really need to start shutting the curtain in your bathroom you never know who will be getting a free show” she spurted out and I wanted to bang my head on the counter instead I gave her a sharp look in which she grinned.
“I’ve closed it Missy”
“Oh well I'm sure your new neighbour is very upset about that seeing as you said he was a guy” she said and gave another evil grin and I literally wanted to drag her out of the cafe and lock the door
“I'm sure” I said sarcastically
I saw Matthew move and I glanced up at him and he looked almost uncomfortable but the only sign was the set of his jaw and the square of his shoulders.
