I walk down the aisle of lunch-tables in my usual ripped, red skinny jeans that have snake skin designs, black 'combat boots', as my friends would call them, and a black and white horizontally stripped shirt, that my mom would say didn't match at all. I sit down with my tray, slightly throwing it on the table.

"What's up guys?" I say to my friends once they recover from my dramatic entrance.

"I think you spit in my face." Nya, my petite friend with chocolate skin and dark brown eyes, says while wiping something off her face.

"Aw, poor you," I say, squinting my eyes and shaking my head. "I highly doubt I really did that though." I glanced back looking for somebody, but I didn't see him. "Maroon is never in here, it's like he never eats lunch! He's probably freezing his butt off out there."

"What is it with this obsession with this boy; you don't even know his name." My best friend, and twin sister, Kimberley said. We aren't identical twins, we're fraternal. We think alike, most of the time, but we don't look alike.

"Must I tell you the story again?" I said. Kimberley and Nya looked at me like I was going to tell them either way. Well, they were right. "On Friday I went to the Teen Center. You know, they have the foosball table. So my friend was playing against this guy, whose name I don't know, and he was winning. But instead of me looking at the ball going back and forth, I was watching his movements. He had a very good strategy."

"Wait, so you're saying you like this guy because he's good at table sports?" My friend, Isabella, said, butting into my story.

"You didn't let me finish! Anyway, first, I was looking at his hands, not a glance at his face. I could feel my heart starting to beat. I slowly moved my eyes up, to meet his face; his gorgeous face."

"He's not even that cute, now Salmon, on the other hand is quite a looker." Kimberley said. Her crush was the captain of the football team. I would tell you about that, but that can be explained in a Taylor Swift song easily.

"Would you guys just let me--?"

"He had beautiful hazel eyes. But they were also green, wait, I don't remember. Oh my gosh, I just completely adore him!" Nya said, mocking me in a southern accent that I don't even have.

"Oh, I see how much you guys respect me now," I started dramatically. "I'll just eat my chicken sandwich and drink my apple juice at the corner of this table while listening to Adele songs…" I started to sniff as if I was crying, faking it, obviously. I put on my headphones and started eating. Then I burst out, "Never mind I'll find someone like you! I wish nothing but the best for you, too! Don't forget me, I beg. I'll remember you said 'sometimes it last in love, but sometimes it hurts instead'." People started to look at our table and stared at us.

Kimberley and Nya groaned. "Please stop." Nya said, trying to hide her face.

"I'll join you, Valentina, in annoying your sister and friends." Isa said. We then sung 'Tainted Love' together in our fake voices, attracting more attention to the table.

I looked back at the door and he walked in. "Okay, I think that's enough. Shall we erm… uh…"

"Let's go. It's about time we leave anyway." Kimberley said.

"But, Maroon just walked in!"

Kimberley just rolled her eyes and sighed. "Let's go. We're leaving, no buts about it."

"Gosh, fine." I said, glancing at Maroon as he walked by. That wasn't his real name; it's just what we called him because I could easily pick him out of the crowd by seeing his maroon hoodie he always wore. His eyes met mine, and I quickly looked away and just walked on.

We walked out of the cafeteria and towards the 'soccer cage'. We called it the soccer cage because it was a soccer field with a fence around it. In addition to that, all the cliques hung out in there and it looked like they were caged zoo animals. I mean, they were so interesting to look at. They had unique behaviors not seen elsewhere. Yup, just like zoo animals

Instead of entering the cage, we stood outside, like all the other viewers, under our normal tree. We talked while watching them, about random stuff. Today, it was about girls of this generation.

"I don't get it. I mean she threatens to go anorexic if Salmon didn't want to go out with her, but then she breaks up with him. I seriously do not like her." I say about Morgan, the typical cheerleader who was dating Brayden, also known as Salmon, the captain of the football team.

"She's not really that bad. I don't hate her anymore, I hate Salmon." Kimberley says.

"I thought you liked him." Nya said, butting in. She usually stays quiet, but sometimes she has something to say.

"Yeah, Morgan is a total drama queen. I mean I do not get the juniors at this school. Sure, we're a grade younger than them. At least the seniors are mature. Actually to think about it, the seniors aren't really involved in the drama." I think about it, then I add, "I mean believe me, you only see her from a distance, Mackenzie knows her. And Mackenzie says she's a total B. And Mackenzie knows." Mackenzie is my sort of friend who is in the same grade as Morgan. She is more of my go to girl whenever I need to know about an eleventh grader, but I don't have the guts to actually talk to them.

"Val…" Kimberley started to say. I knew she didn't want to doubt me. She knew I was right, I'm always right when it comes to gossip. I hate that, but it's true.
