CHAPTER TWENTY
TWO MONTHS LATER
I ran from the lounge room and to the bathroom to throw my guts up. I didn’t know what was going on. I had thought my sickness had gone after graduation which was two months ago. It had gone for two weeks and then came back and has stayed ever since. I threw up everything I had just eaten. I lay down on the bathroom floor and the coolness of the titles felt wonderful.
“Are you alright?” Simon asked.
“I just need to sleep for a minute.” I said weakly as I shut my eyes.
“Babe, do you think you’re pregnant?” Simon asked softly.
“What?” I laughed, “No. I mean, I don’t think so.”
I think I should do a pregnancy test but I didn’t want to be pregnant. I mean I want to have kids but not now. But even if I was, I’d give up my hopes and dreams for it. I sat up slowly and looked at Simon.
“What if I am?” I asked.
“We will support it the best we can.” Simon smiled.
“But we are only seventeen!” I cried.
“Oh babe.” Simon said as he hugged me.
I cried a little more before sucking it up and telling Simon I need to go get a test. We went to the shops just out of town so no one knew that Simon and I might be expecting a baby. When we got home I went to the bathroom.
The three minutes you had to wait was like hell. Once it was over me and Simon looked at it. I gasped as I saw two lines on the pregnancy test. Two blue lines meaning positive. I looked at Simon who was looking like stone.
“Simon?” I said, “SIMON!” I said a little louder and snapped him out of it.
“You’re pregnant! I’m going to be a dad… We’re going to be parents!” Simon said.
“I guess so.” I turned and hugged him.
“I’m going to be a dad.” Simon said so quietly that I didn’t know if he was speaking to me or himself.
We stayed like that for another minute before I felt myself going to throw up again. I pushed Simon off of me and my head went to the sink.
I hope this isn’t all what pregnancy is like.

“Mum, I, I mean we, have something we need to tell you.” I said.
“Sure love, what is it?” Mum said.
“I think you should sit down.” Simon said quietly beside me.
Mum went into the lounge room and sat down and we sat across from her.
“Alright, tell me what it is.” Mum said.
“I-I’m p-pregnant.” I said quietly.
“What was that?” Mum said staring right at me.
“Nina’s pregnant.” Simon said.
“P-Pregnant!? How many weeks? Boy or girl? How long have you known for!?” Mum said excitedly.
“Mum, calm down. I only found out today, I don’t know if it’s a boy or girl and I don’t know how many weeks.” I smiled at her.
“Oh my god! Have you told anyone else yet?” Mum said.
“Nope, just you. You’d would be the first to know anyway Ms Davison.” Simon said.
“Oh yay!” Mum said as she made her way over to us.
Mum hugged us tightly before saying she was going to ring the doctor and get an appointment for this afternoon and at the end of all of what she said was congratulations. I didn’t expect my mum to take it so good. I was expecting her to be angry and disappointed but no, she was more excited than a little kid in a candy store.
“It’s a good thing you have graduated, Nina. You don’t have to drop out of school and you can take a year gap before you head of to college or work or whatever.” Mum called out.
“Yeah I know Mum.” I laughed.

“Alright Nina, you are only eight weeks along so it’s a little too early to see or hear anything. But you will need to come back at twelve weeks just to have a check up.” Dr Samson said.
“Okay, thank you.” I smiled as he wiped the goo of my stomach.
“You’ll need to start taking pregnancy tablets as it will help with the morning sickness a bit.” Dr Samson said.
“Alright.” I said as I sat up and looked at Simon and Mum who has smiles on their faces.
“Well, you good to go. Just make an appointment before you leave.” Dr Samson smiled as he opened the door for us.
“Thank you again.” I said as I walked out.
We went to the front desk and I am an appointment. The lady said she would phone the day before to make sure I was okay for it as it is in four weeks. Once that had been done we left for home. I wasn’t going to tell anyone yet as I have been told it’s bad luck to tell anyone before twelve weeks. When we got home I went straight to bed as I was still feeling sick and I felt tired. As soon as my head hit the pillow, my eyes shut instantly and I went into a deep sleep.
A/N: Dun dun duhhhh! What do you think of Nina being pregnant? Tell me your thoughts of what you think honestly. Sorry it's short but the next chapter is longer for sure. I promise you that. Anyways, comment and such. ByeBye.
