……………. Sam pushed open his bed room door and grabbed his cell phone from the pocket of his Jacket he hit dial.

Radlov * Sam is there a problem?

Sam * oh there’s a fucking problem alright

Radlov * Tricia’s okay isn’t she? You’re okay?

Sam * no on both damn counts

Radlov * Samuel calm down you’re not making sense

Sam * Larson sold you his own daughter… he fucked her over from being a baby

Sam sat on the floor and banged his head back against  the wall

Radlov * are you sure

Sam * yes I’m fucking sure she just told me herself

Radlov * Sam calm down where’s Tricia now

Sam * in her bed

Radlov * is she warm

Sam * Shit

He got to his feet

Radlov * you cannot go in there mad, if she’s opened up to you like this you cannot upset her and scare her more than she must be already

Sam * I know I want to go there and shot the fucker in the knees  and make him…

Radlov * go take care of Tricia… stop letting your own emotion get in the way, She needs you… do it for Lauren

Sam * I am… I’m sorry to…

Radlov * we were just talking about the situation… do not be sorry I’m sure Larson will soon regret doing the things he’s done

Sam * I’ll talk to you later

Radlov * sure

Sam hung up the phone and walked back out of his room Mary was walking up the stairs with folded laundry

“Out of her bed are we?” She tipped her head and looked at him

“Not even going there” He put his hand on the door handle

“Next filler for the bed is it”

“You don’t want to push me Mary…”

‘Can’t see what’s under your nose”

“I said don’t’ push it” He growled Turning and looking at her

“Whatever Sam” She walked down the hall He took a deep breath and turned the door handle and pushed it open he walked over to the bed

“Hey” he stroked my hair making me jump, I looked round at him “Damn you’re lips are turning blue again” he reached for the phone on the night stand and hit #1

Walter * Yes Miss

Sam * Walter, it’s Sam can you bring up some more hot chocolate please

Walter * Yes sir

Sam * thanks

He hung up the phone he stripped out of his clothes again

“Okay you’re going to get hugged again” He smiled at me but his smile didn’t reach his eyes He pulled back the covers and got in with me he wrapped his body tightly to mine, I felt myself tense

“It’s so cold” I murmured

“I shouldn’t have left you I’m sorry” He sighed he reached for one of my hands and started to rub my fingers “We need to get you warm on the inside as well as out” the door knocked “Yep” Sam called out it opened  and Walter walked in with two steaming mugs “Thank you”

“You’re welcome” Walter nodded his face a perfect poker one as if seeing Sam in bed with a woman was a regular thing… who was I kidding it had to be a regular thing men like Sam didn’t seem to be the type not to have a string of women. “Can I do anything else for you?”

“No It think were okay now” Sam Nodded sitting up and reaching for one of the cups “Tricia you need to drink but take sips” I sat up and  he kept his body packed tightly against mine He helped hold the cup as I lifted my shaking hands from under the covers. “I’ll call you if I need anything” Sam Looked at Walter

“Yes sir” Walter picked up the other cups and walked out of the room Mary was standing out in the hall looking in She said something to Walter as he slowly closed the door making Sam look up

“She likes you” I said quietly as I sipped at the sweet chocolate

“How’s that feel”

“I have no idea I don’t think anyone’s liked me?” I shrugged as I took another drink relishing the warmth that seemed to fill me with each mouthful

“I was meaning the hot chocolate” He groaned “And you have people here that like you” I pushed the cup back into his hands. And looked down “After what you just told me… I understand you probably won’t believe me but people do like you… I like you” I looked at him

“I’m tired”

“You’re trying to get out of talking to me” He chuckled putting the almost empty cup on the nightstand and picking up the other one drinking it himself. “Why didn’t he give you up for adoption?”

“I don’t know” I moved down the bed and flipped the damp pillow that was wet from my tears I heard him put the cup down and shift his body back till it was level with me he wrapped his arm round me and draped his leg over mine “I wanted to kill myself but I knew if I failed at it I’d be beaten to the point of death again so I never had the courage to do it” I felts Sam rest his forehead against my back “I promise I’ll work hard for Mr. Radlov I’ll do whatever he wants me to for the kindness alone and for the fact he got me out of that house”

“He doesn’t expect you to work for him” Sam took a deep breath “He didn’t buy you to make you a slave… he brought you because…” he trailed off  “I think you should get some sleep and then you can have a bath when you wake up”

“I can’…”

“Yes you can you can do whatever you want even make a mess in the bathroom and sleeping this bed our any of the beds in the house… you’re a human Tricia you’re a beautiful woman that needs to let loose and do whatever other girl does at her ages” Sam sounded upset “I’ll help you do that if you’ll let me” He rubbed his hand up and down my arms as my eyes slowly closed. I’d never felt so safe as I was feeling lay here with him, there was something about Sam and his boss that gave off the sense that it was going to be different for me from now on………….
