Forgotten About You

Novel By: Kitkattish
Romance

Katrina-Kitty-Hollands has just woken up from a five day coma, only to find out that she has just suffered a memory loss of one year. This lands the young seventeen year old in some serious hot water.

Firstly, waking up to a whole new life isn’t easy.

Secondly, finding out that crazy crushes and sparks are still there isn’t exactly helping the situation.

And lastly, indirectly bullying: is it a new form of a warm ‘Welcome Back, we've missed you’?

Not only is Kitty hot tempered and hilariously dense, she is also a dangerously hormonal teenager.

Can this hotheaded redhead untangle her heart and fix the muddle she’s in…without a trip back to the hospital bed?

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it. This was the first completed novel I had ever written in my entire life. Hahaha, enjoy! :D

Prologue ~ The Breakup

It’s cold.

Like, really cold. The I-wish-I-never-left-the-warm-cozy-house-of-mine-cold.

Karma was definitely mad at me for ditching my two best friends to hang out at Mina’s place for ‘Girls’ Night In’. I should say sorry…but I won’t. Karma is so being a bitch.

I should’ve brought my jacket. I really, really should’ve. Why didn’t I? Oh right, because I was too busy being stupidly stubborn to think about the weather.

I shiver, shifting from one foot to the other, in an attempt to keep warm. My eyes flicker to the bus stop sign for the hundredth time and I can’t keep my head from turning this way and that as I search for the comforting headlights of the bloody bus.

Way to go, smartass. Want to have another go at showing off your utter brilliantness? How about you suggest walking in a bikini in this lovely weather?

Go on, no one will judge you.

Right.

Damn Danny for being right –again. Great. Me and my big fat mouth. Ugh.

Cursing myself, I search in my jean’s pockets and pull out my phone to send a text to Danny, gritting my teeth all the while. Who on earth asks a friend to hang out after a ‘Girls’ Night In’?

Who?!

Well, besides the obvious person who I am currently sending a freaking text message to. My hands are frozen to the point where it’s a complete miracle that I’m able to send a coherent text.

I am SO not cumin ovr. U c the weather? No way am I walking all the way there!

Even if it’s just a bus stop away…was he crazy? This weather was so karma’s doing. I shiver in my too thin blouse and curse myself –again. My phone buzzes, indicating that Danny just sent a reply back.

“Oh, of course he sends a reply fast. He’s in a warm house while I’m stuck outside,” I mutter to myself, ignoring the weird looks from passer bys who were all, may I remind you, in warm coats.

Curse me….again.

LOL. No prob. Dnt 4gt 2 get Star 4rm twins place :P

I stare at the message and slap myself on my forehead.

Shoot.

I forgot about my little sister. I should pick her up from the twin’s place. Damn Danny for knowing me too well. He knows me to the point where he knew I would forget about everything when I’m cold.

Stupid, stupid Danny.

See? This is what happens when you’re too focused on your cheating boyfriend to remember anything much. Damn. My older sister is also coming back, something my brain also managed to lose for a bit.

Wonderful.

A cool breeze drifts by, ruffling my short hair and making a stray newspaper dance along in its wake, not to mention, freezing me up even more. A soft giggling sound had me glancing at a couple seated on the bench, cuddled up and flirting outrageously with each other. Next to them, an old man sat, reading a novel about the changing world or something similar. I sigh, trying not to stare at the couple. I wish Troy and I were like that.

Too bad we’re not.

That cheating scumbag. Yes, I knew he was cheating on me with a girl called Bitchy Lindsay. Okay, well, not the bitchy part. That’s our nickname for her.

But seriously? I think her parents should have named her Bitchy Lindsay. Those two words work beautifully together.

Bitchy Lindsay’s a boyfriend thief. A sickly seductive but highly stupid one at that.

Chloe’s heart got broken two weeks ago. Troy started cheating on me two weeks ago. Maybe Bitchy Lindsay was doing a three-some? Disgusting, I tell you.

How ironic, I just found out Troy was cheating on me for two weeks and here I am commenting on how I think Troy and Bitchy Lindsay are doing a three-some.

I must be losing my mind.

Hah, Melinda would totally relate to that. Speaking or rather thinking about my sister, I have to pick my five-year-old sister from the twins’ place which might I add is another block away from my house.

Glam…

Utterly glam.

I really, really wish I brought my jacket. I really do.

Stupid, foolish, idiot me.

I was still cursing myself when the bus finally pulled up and decided to put me out of my misery. I let the flirtatious couple get on first. God only knows how much they want to resume their flirting competition.

I turn to see the old man still reading. He doesn’t notice the grand arrival of the bus, although it is pretty hard to miss, seeing as the bus comes all clattery and noisy.

I tap his shoulder, anyway, and he looks up in surprise.

“Excuse me, sir. But the bus is here…” I say, pointing at the bus. Well, duh.

Was there a reason to point? Once again, brilliantly done, stupid me.

He jumps up in surprise, closing his book. He turns to me and smiles.

“Thank you, lass. I wouldn’ haff noticed.”

I smile back and get onto the bus after the old man, giving the driver a disdainful look. How could he be late, even if it was just by three minutes? I mean, people could be dying while he was casually taking his time!

I pick a seat next to the window, sighing as I enjoy the warmth of the bus. As I get off at my stop and round the corner, blowing on my hands, I spot Troy with Bitchy Lindsay and a bunch of his stupid jock friends standing in a group in front of Cal’s coffee shop. Ironic, how Troy was cheating on me in front of the place where he first confessed to me.

With a tight smile, I walk up to them, unnoticed. They all had their backs to me. I watch with a breaking heart as Troy leans down and kisses Bitchy Lindsay on her lips. She giggles against his lips and I feel like slapping her.

I did, however, smack Troy’s head- hard-making him bump his face into Bitchy Lindsay’s face and thus causing her cry out in pain. Troy spins around, irritated…..of course, until he sees me. Then his face just becomes white.

“Uh…Kitty? Um…W-what are you doing here?” he stammers, dropping hold of Bitchy Lindsay who gasps and takes a step back. I was pleased to see a little blood on her lips which shows that Troy was biting on her lip when I smacked him. Oh dear, I hope it doesn’t make me sadistic.

“Oh…nothing. Just felt like taking a little stroll down here and see you guys making out. You know, the two-week usual routine,” I reply, with a sarcastic smile. Troy looks at the ground and then at me.

“Listen, I can explain—” he starts.

I slap him. Bitch-slapped him would be a better term, I suppose.

He brings a hand to the side of his cheek with surprise in his eyes. Yeah, what was he expecting? A kiss to congratulate him?

Oh, Troy! I’m so happy to find out that you’ve been cheating on me after we dated for, like, six months! Oh, I’m so proud of you.

Uh-huh.

“Don’t try to explain anything. I know what I saw,” I snap. I turn towards the boyfriend-stealing bitch but then I stop and turn to Troy again.

I slap him once again, for greater effect. Ah, that felt good. No wonder girls slap boys a lot.

“For the record, we are so over,” I tell him, giving him a fake smile and batting my eyelashes at him.

“Wait, Kitty!” Troy starts, sounding upset. I give him another of my brilliant fake smiles and wiggle my fingers in front of him.

“Read between the lines, my darling yet unbelievably stupid ex.”

Bitchy Lindsay shrieks in anger, her fists balling.

“Why did you slap and insult him? He didn’t do anything to you!”

“Funny, Lindsay. He did, actually. You know what he did?” I turn and take a step towards her. “He cheated on me with a bitch like you. How on earth did he find you attractive, what with your annoying high pitched voice and fake eyelashes. Darling, even my sister’s Barbie dolls are more real than you.”

Burn, bitch. Burn on fire.

Lindsay takes a step forward, towards me. The stupid jock friends of Troy back away nervously, proving that they, at least, had half a brain. Lindsay, however, proved otherwise. She jumps at me with her ridiculously long nails. And they weren’t even manicured properly.

Psh, they deserve to get broken.

“Kitty! How dare you! He doesn’t love you! He loves me! You aren’t even pretty, Kitty!” she shrieks, attempting to scratch my eyes out.

Really. This girl has a loud voice. And her defense lines aren’t sounding right. She hasn’t read enough breakup books.

Passer bys stops and stare at her, giving her weird looks.

How rude of her; ruining other peoples’ pleasant evenings.

I grab her hand before she gets to my face.

“Sorry, but I happen to like my face the way it is,” I say pleasantly, pushing her away. I advance on her and slap her hard.

“This one is for being a total bitch. I seriously never liked you.”

I slap her again. “This one is for stealing my stupid boyfriend.”

I slap her a third time. “And this one is for calling me Kitty. My name is Katrina to you, bitch.”

I turn and walk away, aware that my vision’s starting to run out on me. I was crying. Obviously, my heart’s broken now.

Even though Troy was one hell of a stupid douche bag who fell for Bitchy Lindsay’s evil charms, he still made me smile and laugh.

As I walk, I notice water drops land on the ground in front and around me.

It’s raining.

I stop and look up at the sky, letting the raindrops fall onto my face to mix with my tears. I hear footsteps and Lindsay’s loud crying.

I glance over my shoulder and see Troy making his way over to me.

I feel anger boiling up and I ignore him. I walk on until I reach a pedestrian crossing.

I peer at the other side of the road. The twins’ place was just there. Okay, I’ll get there. I carefully make my way across the road and towards the wet pavement. Someone runs by and pushes against me, causing me to fall down. Next thing I know….everything goes black.

Author's Note: I'm very sorry for the confusion with the re-writing and everything. I seriously am! But, i couldn't wait for this to finish and I really want to concentrate on my action novel. I'm sorry for the comments which may confuse you but I'll be putting comments which my past (new) commenters have posted. I love you all so much for being able to put up with this person's madness! LOL xD
