''Ye...yes.'' Kristina stammered. Kevin just stood there, apparently waiting to be introduced because he had never seen Justin in person so he didn't know it was him. There was a long awkward silence in the the group of people. The DJ walked up to Kevin and asked for assistance with something. Kevin gave Nicholas over to Kristina and said, ''I'll be right back.'' She nodded in agreement. ''Okay. We'll be leaving now,'' Brithney said and lead Timothy away from Kristina and Justin. So now they were alone. ''Engaged, huh?'' Justin inquired again.
''Yes, engaged.'' she said courageously.
He forced a laugh. ''Well let's just hope you make it to the alter this time.'' he said sarcastically. His words cut her like a knife and tears burned her eyes. She strugled to keep the tears away.
''Why? Why did you walk away?'' he asked with his face turning serious. '' I- I...wasn't ready,'' she replied. He exploded. ''Wasn't ready! Couldn't you say that when I asked you?!''
It was a good thing the music was loud so everyone didn't hear him. She opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off saying, ''Do you have any idea what it was like for me, I stood there waiting for you infront of all those people! Do have any idea how embarrassed I was!!''
She had thought about it several times and knew he would feel angry, hurt, betrayed, embarrassed and lots of other feelings all at once. He had every right to feel those feeling and right now he was just venting. She felt the need to settle this once and for all.
'' Can we meet somewhere tomorrow or whenever you're not busy so we can talk,'' She knew he had a busy schedule because he was doctor.
''Alright.'' Just as he said that Nicholas smiled at him and stretched his chubby hands towards Justin.
Kristina's heart nearly stopped and Justin was taken aback. Then Nicholas said, ''Da Da!'' and tried to reach for Justin. Kristina and Justin stared at each other. She was more surprised than him because she'd been trying to get the baby to call Kevin '' Daddy'' but he would never say it. Nicholas didn't like being ignored and began to cry because he wasn't getting his way.
