“His sister? Wait, what happened!?” She sighed quietly, watching the tomato juice move as she began to slowly rotate the cup. “We were able to convince the doctor and a man cut your throat by joining the two holes made by his fangs. It should heal soon though.” I moved my fingers up to my neck, running them softly over a bandage that I hadn’t noticed before. “Then…how long have I been here?”
She glanced over at me “I guess I have a lot to explain then don’t I?” She hesitated breathing in softly “Here goes.”
“Well you parents have moved, and are preparing you home in Arizona. It will take them a few months…so when I found out about this I volunteered to take you in. My parents were fine with it, but Scaris didn’t agree to it at all. He said it would be too dangerous for the both of you, my parents, already knowing about his loss of control…actually…welcomed you.” I stopped her right there. Something was wrong. “They knew about everything, and they want me to stay?” My voice was highly suspicious, and obviously she caught on. “They want you to be safe I guess. The hunters are every where now.” I nodded my head slowly in understanding “What about Scaris?”
“He’s…upset.”
“Upset?”
“About the incident, that’s one of the main reason I’m here. I need you to help.”
“How could I?”
She interrupted me softly “It doesn’t seem as bad from your point of view right now. You have to understand that my older brother has avoided the taste of human blood for years. That was his pride as a vampire, but now it’s been tarnished. I don’t know if you understand the effect of your blood. That defense and will power that he has spent years constructing has nearly fallen to ruble. I can smell your scent now, and to me it’s already a temptation, yet to him it’s different. That taste must appeal to him all to well, making it more of a drug that a meal.”
I shivered at the thought. Was it really that bad for him? He could resist it after ten days of imprisonment. It didn’t seem difficult until that last night.
“Then why could he hold out for so long? Why would it on that last night, become so difficult for him?” She finally looked up at me, her bright eyes shinning with the light that loomed over head. “It was because he had begun to loose blood. He truly didn’t expect the substance to be so addictive, but a drug doesn’t seem to tempt until you have used it. One may become curious, but not until they feel the effect do they become an addict. With vampires it’s quite close. That is why I need you. He will need assistance in controlling himself, but he will also need temptation to build that will power back up. If not…then he could fall lower until he becomes nothing but a feral beast.”
“Great…” I whispered standing silently before a massive door. “Well good luck, I will pick you up in maybe thirty minutes.” I gave her an uneasy look “Thirty minutes? Alison isn’t that a bit late?” She shrugged walking past me down the hall “Don’t worry you should be fine, you just have to go in there and tell him what’s going to happening.”
“Happening?”
“Well, for one your going to live with us. For two you are right next door, and for three he can’t do anything about it.” She paused thoughtfully “Oh and one more thing, if you tell him this he will stay about ten feet away from you. Just say that my parents said if he endangers you in any way they will use plan H.H.T.F. he will get what you mean.”
“Plan hhtf?”
She laughed slightly as if remembering something in the past that seemed to humor her “L-let him tell you.” Her voice cracked slightly.
SCARIS’S P.O.V.
I flinched as my hearing doubled then suddenly decreased wildly, all of my senses fluctuation painfully. I already knew before the room door opened, who was on the other side. “Scaris?” Her voice echoed all around me, first booming then a barely cacheable whisper, the door softly shutting in my ears suddenly evolving into a massive explosion before resorting to a small tap.
I couldn’t stand this, this constant plague of senses, the smell and sound of her pelting my defenses. So many ways of her death were intruding my mind and it took all I was to dismiss them.
I could just kill her and get it over with.
