A/n:YAY! It didn't take me forever to update this time. Warning though, super lame joke today!
Chapter 5
I still didn’t know who that girl was. I needed her name! Why was she in the house? His daughter? But it wasn’t on the record! I got off my motorcycle and took off my helmet. I turned around and came face to face with a girl with familiar eyes. “Sorry…” she grumbled. She took a step away, then suddenly turned back and stared into my eyes. ‘What the hell? I quickly looked away. “Uh… sorry. Hey. I’m Scarlett… You new here?”
“Uh…yea…” I trailed off.
“Cool, whatever.” Her face was still inches from mine. The smell of lavender on her was intoxicating. I stepped back hurriedly, making me bump into my bike, lose balance and flip over to the other side. I landed headfirst and cursed as my ass hit the ground. I heard her soft giggle as she leaned on my bike on looked down.
“Hey, hey… you okay?” She asked, while still trying to stifle her laughter. “Oh shit. You’re bleeding!” She reached toward me, her eyes worried. Instinctively I reached up to my head, and absent- mindedly wiped with my hands. She slapped it away, and took out a hanker-chief and gently wiped around the cut on my forehead as her eye brows furrowed together in concentration. I sucked in a breath.
“Is that clean” I quickly said, the first thing I could think up with.
“What do you think. I wash it everyday” She glared at me a pulled away, her eyes hardening instantly.
“Thanks… I should get to the office now. To check in.” She nodded and stepped back. I quickly grabbed my backpack and ran towards the orange building. Damn… I forgot how much of a nuisance these bags were. I pushed open the metal doors and stepped inside. A blast of cold air hit me as I stepped in the hallways. I looked around at the black lockers and slowly walked towards a door that was labeled ‘Office.’ I pushed open the doors and trudged inside.
“Hi, I’m Xavier.” I announced loudly. The secretary jumped and glared at me.
“Right. New student. Here’s your schedule, I’ll get someone to show you around.” She flicked the schedule at me and turned back to her computer. I stood by the doorway; unsure of what to do when the door behind me opened and caught me by surprise. I stumbled a bit a regained my balance.
“Am I just unlucky today or what?!” I spun around just to see Scarlett standing there with embarrassment.
“Oh my god I’m so sor-YOU!” She grinned. “So we meet again.”
I rubbed my shoulder painfully. “Unfortunately, yea. We meet again.”
The secretary took this chance and quickly butted in our conversation. “Scarlett! Can you show Xavier around the school and his locker after your done trying to kill him with the door?” She nodded while smiling sheepishly at me. She grabbed my hand and pushed me out the door.
“So…your name is Xavier huh. Cool, let me see your schedule.” Before I could reply, she snatched my schedule from my hands and looked at it. “OH MY GOD your in ALL my classes!” She shrieked while jumping up and down with my schedule flopping around. I laughed at her childish reaction.
“Well? Are you going to show me around school?” As she was about to reply, a pair of hands wrapped around her waist.
“So… I see you’ve made a new friend. I thought that was impossible.” Her eyes flashed with anger.
“Let go of me you son of a b*tch!” She yelled as she struggled to get out of his grasp. I don’t know what came over but suddenly I wanted to punch him and wipe that smirk off his face. “You asshole!” She hollered. The crowd that soon gathered around us gasped.
“Let. Her. Go.” I said as calmly as I could. I glared at them and glanced back into his emerald eyes.
“Who do you think you are huh?” He pushed her to the ground. She whimpered as her head hit the tiles, then was out cold. Adrenaline pumped through me. I wanted some action. I held back my urges and bent down. Soon Scarlett was being carried away, and as I watched, he kicked me. This was the last straw. I jumped back up and this time, I didn’t hold back my urges. The onlookers roared as I swung my fist at his pretty face. The fight has started.
Corny Joke of the Chapter/Day
A group of friends went deer hunting and paired off in twos for the day. That night, one of the hunters came back alone, staggering under the weight of an eight-point buck.
"Where's your buddy Joey?" the others asked.
"Joey had a stroke or something. He's a couple of miles back up the trail," the successful hunter replied.
"You left Joey laying out there and carried the deer back?" they inquired.
"A tough call," nodded the hunter. "But I figured no one's gonna steal Joey!"
