This isn’t any ordinary story. You might think it’s about a prince trying to find true love or a pageboy falling in love with a princess and thinks he isn’t good enough for her, but ends up with her anyway. Well, this isn’t exactly like those stories but a bit similar. I said a bit. So sit back, relax, and enter the land of Starlem.
Starlem is filled with occupants unlike any other. You may have heard of them before but there is a catch. They mostly all got along. You’ll see what I mean. There are trolls, ogres, fairies, nymphs, dragons, and regular humans just like you and me. But, picture a troll walking down the road and stopping by a dragon’s house for tea. Do you see what I mean? But that’s what makes Starlem so special, there are no enemies. Everybody usually got along. Starlem has had peace for over thousands of years.
And of course, there is a royal family. The Mallendore’s. This royal family has been ruling over Starlem for centuries. King Ferdinand and his wife, Queen Annabelle keep an eye on everyone. Every week, they would visit families all over Starlem to see if they needed anything. The royal family have very kind hearts, especially Prince Christopher.
Yes, Prince Christopher was very kind. He just doesn’t know when he’s overdoing his kindness. There was once a time when Prince Christopher was visiting a troll family beside the creek with his family. The trolls lived under a bridge because they had to stay away from the sun. The sun can do damage to there eyesight. So, when they arrived at the trolls’ bridge, everything was going fine. The trolls were grateful for them visiting. The trolls were serving lemon cakes, and that’s when everything went wrong.
When Prince Christopher took a lemon cake and tasted it, let’s just say he didn’t know what he was saying. He suggested to the trolls that the lemon cake was a bit too sweet, and he told them that he’d be willing to let them see their cook, to get it just right. Let me just clue you in on something. Trolls may be nice creatures, but they can not take insults. And quite frankly, this was an insult.
Queen Annabelle explained to the trolls that Prince Christopher didn’t mean any harm; he was just stating his opinion. Thankfully, the trolls forgave him. From that day on, they never took Prince Christopher with them when they went visiting. This is where my story begins.
