***PROLOGUE*** This is something that would be added in the story somewhere.
Standing on top of the highest mountain I looked beyond this
world and into something that I yearn and loved the most. The
love I had for my sister's boyfriend, Nicolas. He's the reason
why I live. The laughter he carries around in my world warms my
heart and makes me feel like I am human. I have emotions when I
am with him. I know how to cry, laugh, and love.
There he stands next to me. His eyes had bags under them. He hasn't had any sleep ever since chaos has erupted between the angels and the vampires. Even when he was looking distress he was still beautiful. I admire the scar that ran from his neck to his chest. It reflects the pain and yet the courage he held inside of him. Tying my hair up into a ponytail I looked at him.
"How much do you love my sister?" I asked already knowing the answer. My heart was hurting and that sharp jab of pain is making me weak.
"I am willing to switch places with her and walk through purgatory for her. She's my life." He said with severity. My heart is finally falling apart and my soul was being ripped apart from my body leaving me in desolation.
"Then I'll do it for your sake, Nicolas." I heard myself say to him. I was afraid that he would see the emotions playing on my face so I shifted my gaze to look at the setting sun.
"No, you don't have to, I don't want you to." He said softly.
I sighed trying to ease some pain. "It doesn't matter. I love my sister too." As tear escaped from my eyes and its warmth scorched my skin like lava scorching the earth ridding it of its beauty. He wiped it away with his thumb. I flinched at his touch.
"I'm being selfish." He whispered.
"I'm stronger than my sister." I started I hated that fact because I didn't want to be the one who is stronger.
"You are." He nodded his eyes intense and blocked from feelings or emotions.
The sky was getting dark now and standing on the top of the mountain gave me chills. I shiver in response to a cold breeze. James held the most beautiful eyes ever because it had a green gold lightening streak running down the middle of eyes.
"Let's go before it's late." He said noticing my shivers.
"Okay." I whispered and slowly followed behind taking in what might be the last I would see of him. If I was to take my sister's mission there might be a chance that I won't be able to ever tell Nicolas that I have fallen in love with him.
