Hey! So, I've read the first half of this story, and I'm sorry about the tenses! I've never been very good with grammar, (ironic for a writer, haha) but its something I've been working on and I would fix it but I'm too lazy lol. So until may lazy period ends, just bare with me! Thanks for reading! :)- nev

There are 3 types of people. The ones who actually like school, the ones who hate school, and the ones who just don't care. I happen to fall in all three of those categories, for these reasons. For one, I like school because of my awesome best friends, and seeing Chase Evelan[ the hottest guy in sophomore year atSpiron High. But then I hate school because of homework and stupid Sydney Dooley, the dumb chick who happens to be trying to get with my future soul mate. I mean, what kind of a last name is Dooley? Anyway, I also don't care about school because I honestly have no trouble in any of my classes. I'm perfectly comfortable because the gods of the school have blessed me by putting at least one of my best friends in each of my classes (thank GOD).
SAME DAY, THE START OF SCHOOL 7:45am
The hallway is packed with people when I get to school. And I'm glad. I got to admit, I'm feeling pretty good today. Wren was actually nice to me this morning instead of being the jerky- big-sister she normally is. She even let me borrow her super cute pink and blue striped dress that I've been begging her for like all my life. Thanks to my awesome fashion skills I managed to dig a light blue jean jacket and some pink flats from my messy closet. I attempted to curl my hair, but like always the curls that look so great at home disappear when I arrive at school and my hair returns to its natural waviness.
"Hey Muchacho!" I squeal to Trent, sucking him into a big hug. (BTW, Trent=one of my BFFL's) Trent has tan skin, deep blue eyes, and brown hair styled in Justin Bieber's old style, but it looks way better on Trent. Today he's wearing black jeans and a gray shirt that says SWAG in big black letters.
"Hey- I can't breathe Tori!" Trent gasps, patting my back.
"Sorry." I say, still smiling. He can tell I'm in a good mood because he's rolling his eyes and doing that knowing half smirk he always does to tell me he can read me like a book. He is my best BFFL. As in, we know each other way better than Charlie and Syria.
"What's got you so hipped up?" he asks, swinging his arm around my shoulders. I couldn't ignore the tingling sensation that buzzed through my system at his touch. What's happening to me? He's my BFFL (best friend for life) and nothing more! I think…
"Wren let me borrow this!" I gesture to my dress, ignoring my previous thoughts- "And did you do your half of our history report?" I put my hand on my hips, slipping out from under his arm. I already know the answer of course. No. Trent is more of a "I'll do what I want, when I want." Type of go with the flow guy.
"You know the answer." Trent says barely hiding the fact that he's way bored.
"What does Tori know?" Syria asks suddenly appearing at my side. Of course she looks fabulous. Even though I would never admit this out loud, Syria is definitely the prettier one out of the two of us. She's got milk chocolate skin and curly hair I would kill to have. But instead she wears it in long braids down her back, which still makes her every bit as gorgeous as before. Today she's wearing a white blouse and a gray cardigan over black skinny jeans and plaid black and gray flats. The fact that she looks so fab almost brings my mood down. Almost, but not quite.
"Trent thinks he can just worm out of our Social studies project-"I start, but I don't finish because Chase Evelan picks this moment to walk over to us with his twin sister Ashley.
"Hey Tori, your Wren's little sister right?" He says, nodding his head up like boys do. It's really simple how he looks. He's got a beautiful voice, beautiful blond hair and a beautiful body. He's also got light hazel eyes. The TOTAL package! Ashley has pretty much the same features except she's way pretty as a girl. They're like the twins of the school. All the boys like Ashley, and all the girls like Chase.
"Hey1 what's up? How are you? And yeah, I'm Wrens little sister. But I heard you scored the winning touchdown in our last game…that's so awesome." I know, I know I'm babbling , but I can't help it. Chase is just so darn gorgeous! I look over to Trent for help but all he does is roll his eyes and glare at Chase. Ever since I told Trent I liked Chase he's had some weird thing against him.
"Heyy Trent, how are you?" Ashley says flirtatiously. Ugh! Cant she just go away! She totally needs to stop falling all over Trent! I mean she's doing the whole twisting her hair around her finger and biting her lip thing. She's even inching closer to him! I don't know why but I really hate it when girls flirt with Trent! (its not like he hasn't had a girlfriend before because he's had tons. So many girls like him! He's like the most liked guy in school besides Chase.)
"I'm cool Ashley." He looks at me when he says it and our eyes meet and we both raise our eyebrows.
"You can call me Ash you know…" She's even closer to him now, almost on top of him. Thankfully he just nods and puts his hands in his pockets, and flicks his finger at me, which is our secret language code. Its hard to explain what it means because it really depends on the situation. Yeah, we know each other THAT well. In this case, I'm pretty sure you can guess what it meant.
"Uh Tori?" Chase is literally waving his hand in my face.
"yeah?" I look back at him to see he's pretty confused at what's going on.
"I asked you what lunch you have." He looks about ready to give up on me and I'm totes scared.
"Oh I have first!" I spit out.
"Same. Maybe I'll see you at my table?" He raises his eyebrow and my heart skips 10 beats. Before I answer I sneak a peek at Syria to make sure everything's good. She gives me a double thumbs up. Trent on the other hand scowls at me and flicks his finger again meaning: 'do what you want with your jerkwad.' I flick my finger back at him, a pleading look on my face. 'don't be that way. You know I won't go without you.' He just ignores me and goes back to his stupid conversation with Ashley. So I take matters into my own hands.
"totally! I'd love to!" I'm smiling and batting my eyelashes at him. Out of the corner of my eye I see Trent looking super pissed and flicking his finger rapidly. You should have thought of that before I think to myself.
"So Trent, you should so come sit with us to! I would really, really like it if u would come." Ashley is literally snuggling up against Trent and putting her hand on his chin to turn his head towards her. Don't fall for this Trent! I'm thinking this over and over and over again.
"I mean, I could, sure." He's turning red now and I can tell he's actually falling for this! But before I can punch him in the face the bell rings and we all have to get to home room.
"I'll catch you later 'kay?" Even though I'm mad I can't help melting at chase's smile.
"Definitely." I smile back too.
"I'll see you later cutie!" Ashley taps Trents nose once more and then struts down the hall after her brother.
"What was that Trent!!" I am fuming mad right now. How could he flirt with HER??
"I think Trent's dead." Syria says waving her hand infront of his face. Of course! He's stuck staring after Ashley.
"Come-on!" I yell grabbing Trent and pulling him into our home room. "See you in math Syria!"
SAME DAY, HOMEROOM
"Good morning Class." Says Miss Sykes. Too bad no one actually listens.
"How could you do that?" I whisper harshly. Trent and I are sitting next each other, with tons of other kids from class while Miss Sykes calls role call.
"Do what?" He whispers back, raising his eyebrows.
"Like you don't know! How could you flirt with Ashley!"
"What are you talking about! How can you be mad at me when you were too busy falling all over that dooshbag?"
"I guess you have a point there…"
"Yeah, I know I do…" He has this guilty look on his face and I know there's more to the story.
"what is it?"
"I…uh… I've been going out with Ashley for a while now." He says this so softly I have to strain to hear him.
"You've been WHAT? How could you? Why didn't you tell me? I can't believe you!" I am majorly pissed now. My bestest friend in the world just betraye!
"For this exact reason! I knew you'd freak out about it!"
"Oh so you just lie to me?" I snarl, glaring at Trent
"Listen, it wasn't just me who wanted to keep it a secret! Ash didn't want anyone to know at the time either."
"When did this happen?" I ask, anger pulsing through my veins. How could he betray me like this? How could he not tell me?
"it was an actual accident Tori! It was at the dance a month ago. You were with Syria and Charlie was trying to hook up with girls as usual. I got bored so I just thought I'd take a walk and I saw Ashley in the hallway. It wasn't meant to happen… it just did I guess. ."
"Wait, I thought Ashley had a boyfriend already then!" I say, trying to whisper but not succeeding.
"yeah, but she was breaking up with him-"
"You were the other guy? How could you stoop so low? And for her! How could you fall for that? She's just going to hurt you." I growl, my hands clenching into fists.
"It's not like that." Trent says, putting his hand on my shoulder. "I promise, that's not what it is."
"Don't touch me." I jerk my shoulder away from him and rub my tempals, trying to calm down.
"Just leave me alone." I am so pissed off and hurt at the same time that I feel like I'm going to explode. How could he do that? How could he be with the girl that's been such a bitch towards me since the 2nd grade?
"Tori Jenkins?" Miss Sykes calls, peering through her glasses.
"Here" I mumble, not wanting to talk to anyone. God, I wish Syria was here. She'd know exactly how to cheer me up at a time like this. I hate how fragile I get sometimes. I mean, on the outside, I probably look really mad and angry. But on the inside, I'm breaking down. Its not even the fact that he was with Ashley. Its that he lied to me. His best friend, The girl who knows literally everything about him, The girl that's been their since before preschool, and that girl is me. and to think the day started out so well. L
"Tori…" Trent whispers. I can tell he wants to quit fighting but I don't respond. I just keep scratching the paint off my worn out desk. Not giving up, he puts a piece of paper on my desk when Miss Sykes isn't looking. It's not like she would do anything about it anyway, I mean all she's doing is reading morning announcements. I open up the paper to find a small note:
You're gonna have to talk to me at some point.
Sure I will. Just not right now.
