Hey! So, I've read the first half of this story, and I'm sorry about the tenses! I've never been very good with grammar, (ironic for a writer, haha) but its something I've been working on and I would fix it but I'm too lazy lol. So until may lazy period ends, just bare with me! Thanks for reading! :)- nev

Wednesday, 6:ooam September 30th, The start of school 7:45am

The hallway was packed with people when I got to school. And I was glad. I got to admit, I was feeling pretty good that day. Wren was actually nice to me in the morning instead of being the jerky- big-sister she normally is. She even let me borrow her super cute pink and blue striped dress that I'd been begging her for like all my life. Thanks to my awesome fashion skills I managed to dig a light blue jean jacket and some pink flats from my messy closet. I attempted to curl my hair, but like always the curls that looked so great at home disappeared when I arrived at school and my hair returned to its natural waviiness.

"Hey T!" I squealed to Trent, sucking him into a big hug. (BTW, Trent=one of my BFFL's) With tan skin, deep blue eyes, and brown hair styled to perfection, Trent was a total ladies man. Today he was wearing black jeans and a gray shirt that read, "SWAG" in big black letters.

"Hey-can't breathe Tori!" Trent gasped, patting my back.

"Sorry." I said, still smiling. I know he can tell I'm in a good mood because he's rolling his eyes and doing that knowing half smirk he always does to tell me he can read me like a book. We met back in kindergarten during play time, and Trent he's helped me carry a heavy bucket into the sandbox. About ten thousand play dates and dinners later, it was safe to label us as best friends for life.

"What's got you so hipped up?" he asked, swinging his arm around my shoulders. And a familiar tingling sensation buzzed through my system at his touch.

"Wren was actually a decent person for once and let me borrow this." I gesture to my dress, ignoring my previous thoughts- "And did you do your half of our history report?" I put my hand on my hips, slipping out from under his arm. I already knew the answer of course. No. Trent was more of a "I'll do what I want, when I want." Type of go with the flow guy.

"You know the answer." Trent said, shooting me a breathtaking wink.

"What does Tori know?" A voice sounded. Syria suddenly appeared at my side. Of course she looked fabulous. Even though I would never admit this out loud, Syria was definitely the prettier one out of the two of us. She's got milk chocolate skin and curly hair I would kill to have. But today she wore it in long braids down her back, which still made her every bit as gorgeous as before. She wore a white blouse and a gray cardigan over black skinny jeans and plaid black and gray flats. The fact that she looked so fab almost brings my mood down. Almost, but not quite.

"Trent thinks he can just worm out of our Social studies project-"I started, but I didn't finish because Chase Evelan picked this moment to walk over to us with his twin sister Ashley.

"Hey, you're Wren's sister. Tori, right?" He asked, nodding his head up like boys do. It was really simple how he looked. He had a beautiful voice, beautiful blond hair and a beautiful body with light hazel eyes to match. The TOTAL package! Ashley had pretty much the same features except she was way pretty as a girl. They're like the twins of the school. All the boys like Ashley, and all the girls like Chase.

"Yeah, I'm Wrens little sister. I heard you scored the winning touchdown in our last game…that's so awesome." I know, I know I was babbling , but I couldn't help it. Chase was just so darn gorgeous! I looked over to Trent for help but all he did is roll his eyes and glare at Chase. Ever since I told Trent I liked Chase he's had some weird thing against him.

"Heyy Trent, how are you?" Ashley says flirtatiously. Ugh! Cant she just go away? She needs to stop falling all over Trent. Literally, she's doing the whole twisting her hair around her finger and biting her lip thing and inching closer to him. I don't know why but I really hate it when girls flirt with Trent.

"I'm cool Ashley." He looks at me when he says it and our eyes meet and we both raise our eyebrows.

"You can call me Ash you know…" She was even closer to him now, almost on top of him. Thankfully he just nodded and put his hands in his pockets, and flicked his finger at me, which is our secret language code. Its hard to explain what it means because it really depends on the situation.

"Uh Tori?" Chase was literally waving his hand in my face.

"yeah?" I replied, snapping out of my weird funk.

"I asked you what lunch you have." He looked about ready to give up on me and I was totally scared.

"Frst!" I spit out.

"Same. Maybe I'll see you at my table?" He raised his eyebrow and my heart skipped 10 beats. Before I answered I snuck a peek at Syria to make sure everything was good. She gave me a double thumbs up. Trent on the other hand scowled at me and flicked his finger in a way that resembled the way you would commonly wipe off a crumb on your seat.' I flicked my finger a thiamin reasoning, but he just ignored me and returned to his stupid conversation with Ashley. So I took matters into my own hands.

"Sounds great." I smiled and batted my eyelashes in a flirtatious way. Or at least I hoped that would be what it would look like. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Trent looking super pissed and all I did was roll my eyes.

"So Trent, you should so come sit with us too! I would really, really like it if u would come." Ashley snuggled up against Trent and put her pointer finger on his chin to turn his head towards her.

"I mean, I could, sure." He's turned red and I could tell he was falling for her little act. But before I could punch him in the face the bell rings and we all have to get to home room.

"I'll catch you later 'kay?" Even though I was mad I couldn't help melting at chase's smile.

"Definitely." I smiled back.

"I'll see you later cutie," Ashley tapped Trents nose once more before strutting down the hall after her brother.

"What was that Trent!!" I was fuming mad. How could he flirt with HER?? How could my best friend flirt with my enemy?? Ashley and I had a very...shaky past. It was jam packed with gossip, lies, crying, and tons of secrets, but more on that later.

"I think Trent's dead." Syria said, waving her hand in front of Trent's face. Of course he would be stuck staring after Ashley.

"Come-on!" I yelled, grabbing Trent and pulling him into our home room. "See you in math Syria!"

SAME DAY, HOMEROOM

"Good morning Class." Miss Sykes said to the class. Too bad no one was actually listening.

"How could you do that?" I whispered harshly. Trent and I were sitting next each other with tons of other kids from class while Miss Sykes called role call.

"Do what?" He whispered back, raising his eyebrows.

"Like you don't know! How could you flirt with Ashley!"

"What are you talking about? How can you be mad at me when you were too busy falling all over that asshole?"

"Chase is not an asshole!" I huffed. "But I guess you have a point."

"I know I do." He had this guilty look on his face and I knew there's more to the story.

"what is it?"

"I…uh… Ashley and I are sort of.... Dating." He says this so softly I have to strain to hear him.

"You've been WHAT? How could you? Why didn't you tell me? I can't believe you!" The questions tumbled out of my mouth before I could stop them, and I could feel all the rage in my system bubbling up.

"This is exactly why I didn't tell you! I knew you'd freak out about it!"

"Oh so you just lie to me?" I snarled, glaring at Trent

"Listen, it wasn't just me who wanted to keep it a secret! Ash didn't want anyone to know at the time either."

"When did this happen?" I asked, anger pulsing through my veins. How could he betray me like this? How could he not tell me?

"it was an actual accident Tori! It was at the dance a month ago. You were with Syria and Charlie was trying to hook up with girls as usual. I got bored so I just thought I'd take a walk and I saw Ashley in the hallway. It wasn't meant to happen… it just did I guess. ."

"Wait, I thought Ashley had a boyfriend already then!" I said, trying to whisper but not succeeding.

"yeah, but she was breaking up with him-"

"You were the other guy? How could you stoop so low? And for her! How could you fall for that? She's just going to hurt you." I growled, my hands clenching into fists.

"It's not like that." Trent said, putting his hand on my shoulder. "I promise, that's not what it is."

"Don't touch me." I jerked my shoulder away from him and rubbed my temples, trying to calm down.

"Tori-"

"Just leave me alone." I was so pissed off and hurt at the same time that I felt like I' was going to explode. How could he do that? How could he be with the girl that's been such a bitch towards me since the 2nd grade?

"Tori Jenkins?" Miss Sykes called, peering through her glasses.

"Here" I mumbled, not wanting to talk to anyone. God, I wish Syria was here. She'd know exactly how to cheer me up at a time like this. I hated how fragile I got sometimes. On the outside, I probably looked really mad, but on the inside, I was breaking down. Its not even the fact that he was with Ashley. Its that he lied to me. His best friend, The girl who knows literally everything about him, The girl that's been there since kindergarten. And to think the day started out so well.

"Tori…" Trent whispered. I can tell he wants to quit fighting but I didn't respond. I just kept scratching the paint off my worn out desk. Not giving up, he put a piece of paper on my desk when Miss Sykes wasn't looking. It's not like she would do anything about it anyway, I mean, her main purpose was reading morning announcements. I opened up the paper to find a small note:

'YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO TALK TO ME AT SOME POINT. '

Sure I would. Just not right now.
