Chapter 15
I found myself a pretty decent apartment in Quebec. It has been 3 weeks since I ran away, and I’m really starting to miss Jasmine. I can’t live without her. I can’t be near her, but I can’t be away from her. I don’t know what I’m gonna do. If I go back, my dad will find us and we’ll both be in danger. If I stay here, I’ll be alone forever, and lose my only true love. If I lost her, I could never live with myself. I’m so confused right now that I have no clue what I’ll do.
About a week later, I had made up my mind. I couldn’t like without her here, so I’m going back. And no matter what happens, I’m going to protect her. I won’t let my dad do anything to her. I booked a flight for the next morning directly to Indianapolis. I would surprise Jasmine on her way home from school.
POV: Jasmine
I was on my way home from school a month after Jordan had left, feeling depressed, as usual, without him. I was about 2 blocks from the school, when all of a sudden, my dreams came true. Jordan pulled up next to me in his sports car and said,
“Need a ride?” I instantly smiled and ran around to the passenger’s side. I jumped in the front seat and turned to him as he drove off.
“So, does this mean you’re back for good?” I asked curiously.
“Yes, it does, but 1st, I have some unfinished business with my father, so I need you to stay with me at all times, never walk home alone,” he said.
“Okay,” I said. He drove me to my house and said,
“See you in you’re bedroom.” I walked into my house, greeted my parents, and ran upstairs to my room. As I shut my door, Jordan appeared on my bed. We talked for a long time, and when it was time for me to go to bed, he cradled me in his arms and rocked me to sleep. Little did I know that tragedy would ruin my life the next day.
I woke up in Jordan’s arms. He smiled down at me and said,
“Good morning, sleepyhead.” I laughed softly as he planted a kiss on my forehead. I jumped up and starting getting ready for school as he stayed in my room and waited. I walked downstairs about 30 minutes later as Jordan disappeared, saying he’d pick me up around the corner, since my parents still thought he was gone, which was for the best. I fixed myself 2 pieces of toast really quick and ate them. I kissed and hugged my parents goodbye, telling them I loved them.
“Bye!” they shouted as I ran out the door and down the street where Jordan was waiting. I jumped in the car and we headed off to school.
POV: Jordan
I knew I couldn’t go back to school, not after I disappeared like I had, so I spent most of the day driving around town, avoiding alleys and any other shortcuts that might lead to danger, because I knew my dad was combing the city for me. I got really bored, but finally my car clock read 3:10, so I raced back to the school to pick up Jasmine. She jumped in the car when I pulled up, and then we drove back to her house. I looked at her nervously and said,
“Jasmine?”
“Hmmm…?” she asked.
“Well, I was wondering, since I need a queen for me to become king, when this is all over, will you marry me? Well, at least when we get older, I mean,” I said nervously.
“Of course, but doesn’t that mean I have to been turned into a vampire?” she answered.
“Well…, yes; is that something you’d be okay with?” I asked nervously.
“Jordan, I love you, and I want to be with you forever, so…, yes, that’s what I want, as long as it means I’ll be with you forever,” she said seriously.
“Are you sure, Jasmine? I mean, you’ll be giving up your mortality and any chance you have of a normal life,” I said, worried about what her answer would be.
“I’m sure, Jordan, I love you more then I’ve ever loved anyone,” she said, and with that, she leaned over and kissed me on the cheek as I parked a block away from her house. I walked Jasmine up to her front door, then started to walk away as she unlocked her house door and went in. As I jumped in my car and started the engine, a scream came from Jasmine’s house. I use my super fast vampire speed to race up to her door. I broke the door down and rushed inside to see a gruesome scene in the living room. Jasmine was standing in the doorway of the living room, eyes wide with fear, horror, and sadness. Her mom and dad lay dead on the living room floor, with blood splattered everywhere. Jasmine turned towards me and wrapped her arms around my waist, burying her face in my chest as she began to cry. I wrapped my arms around her to comfort her, but it was just a façade of how I really felt. I was angry and furious. I knew who had actually done this, which made me even more furious. My dad wanted to hurt Jasmine, so it would make me come back here, so he could find me. So my dad hired a trained killer that was a vampire to kill Jasmine’s parents. Something had to be done, but right now I didn’t know what. But there was one thing I knew for sure: I was going to confront my dad about what had happened to Jasmine’s parents.
