Chapter 4
POV: Jasmine
Oh my gosh! We just kissed! I thought to myself as his lips pulled back from mine. He looked me in the eyes, and said,
“Jasmine, before we go any further in our relationship, there’s something really important I have to tell you about me, so please listen to everything I say, and don’t run off, at least until I’m done.” I put on a really confused expression and wondered, Why would I run away from him? *Sigh*, there must be a lot more to him then meets the eye if he thinks I’ll run away, I thought to myself as he readied himself to begin explaining. He took my hands, but couldn’t bring himself to look at me. He said,
“Jasmine, I’m not what you think I am, there’s more to me then you can see.” He paused her a minute and I held in my breath, waiting for him to say it. Oh, come on, just spit it out! I thought impatiently. As if he had read my mind, he said quickly,
“Jasmine, I’m a vampire.” I choked, as I tried to let out my breath. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing!
“You’re a vampire?????? I thought they didn’t exist! I don’t believe you, prove it!” I said.
“Well, ok then, if you insist,” he said, and then looked up at me and smiled, revealing two sharp fangs in his mouth. I almost screamed as I saw them. A second later, he frowned, closing his mouth, since he saw how I had reacted, and then looked back down at the ground. I still loved him, though, and still wanted to be his boyfriend, so I said,
“Do you like bite people and suck the blood out?” He laughed to himself and said,
“Not really, I haven’t bitten a mortal in years, I mostly get blood from these packs that my parents get for me.”
“Why don’t you feed off of mortals?” I asked curiously.
“Because if I did, I’m scared that I’d have to kill them because they would’ve seen my face and told somebody, then I’d have to move,” he said, sighing.
“How old are you?” I asked.
“I look around14-18, cause that’s when I was turned, but I’m really 105 years old,” he said, smiling, but not revealing fangs this time. I said,
“Well, have you ever been in love in those 105 years?” He sighed before he answered,
“Once, but it didn’t work out so well,” he hesitated before continuing,
“she turned me when we were on a date, in this park, to be exact, and after that, I moved away because I couldn‘t stand what I was, until my parents convinced me to move back here."“Oh my gosh, I guess it’s hard to trust anybody, then, right?” I asked sadly. He said,
“Yeah, but I’m in love with somebody now, whom I trust, for the 1st time since then.”
“Who???” I asked, surprised, wondering who it was.
“You, Jasmine,” he said, and then looked up and kissed me. My heart fluttered. I was in love with a vampire!
