Chapter 6
POV: Jordan
“Ask away,” I said.
“I was just wondering,” and here she started to whisper,
“I always thought that relationships between vampires and humans never worked out, since they’re dangerous and all; I thought the only way they can be together is if the human is turned into vampire.”
“Well, they usually don’t, but I can control my vampire tendencies, so trust, me, I won’t ever hurt you,” I said.
“But I’m a human liability, if a vampire shows up and tries to hurt me and succeeds, and I start to die, then what will you do?” she asked curiously.
“Well, lets not think about it ‘till that time comes,” I said, avoiding the subject.
“But I wanna be with you forever Jordan, even if that means being a vampire,” she said.
“Jasmine, I will never put you through that much pain, I won’t, I don’t want to give you a life like mine,” I said, sad that she would even want to give up her mortality.
“But, I don’t care, it’s the only way we’ll ever be together,” she said.
“I won’t Jasmine, end of conversation,” I said and stalked down the hallway to my next class, ignoring her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After school, I ran home, not wanting to even talk to her. I ran upstairs to my room and locked the door just as I heard my mom pulling up. She worked the dayshift so at night she could hunt with my father and brother, but I didn’t always go because I wasn’t as hungry as they were. They still fed off of humans, to my distaste, and didn’t even know that I had a human girlfriend. My mom came up to my room, knocked on the door, and came in(no lock on a door can hold back a vampire). She could sense something was wrong with me and asked,
“Honey, what’s wrong?; Danny said you didn’t even get a ride home with him after school, and was worried. You know you shouldn’t be wandering off by yourself, because if something happened to you, the entire vampire kingdom would be in trouble, since you are the heir to the throne. That’s why you have a bodyguard.”
“Ok, ok, mom, I know, but it’s just that…, well, you know how I have to get married soon to become king?” She nodded her head, motioning for me to continue.
“Well, I’m in love, and she’s, she’s,” I stuttered, and in her mind she was saying to spit it out, so I continued,
“She’s a human; there, I said it.”
“Oh, honey, you know you shouldn’t get involved with a human, unless you turned her and made her your vampire queen,” my mom responded, disappointed.
“I want to be with her forever and vice versa, but I just don’t want to inflict that much pain on her, or take away her mortality; that’s how much I love her mom,” I said sadly.
“Well, honey, you’ve got to make a decision, either turn her, or stay away from her,” my mom said, and then she left my room.
