Chapter 7
Wow, what was Jordan’s problem? I thought to myself as he walked away from me and down the hall. *Sigh, I guess he doesn’t wanna hurt me, but still I want to be with him forever, and that’s the only way and he knows it. I walked to my next class. The rest of the day dragged by, especially since Jordan wouldn’t talk or even look at me and wouldn’t sit with me at lunch. I was so sad, that I decided to call him later after school and apologize.

Well, I walked home alone that day. Jordan wasn’t even out there when I walked out the door, he must have left school fast, not wanting to talk to me. When I got home I waited a while so as not to disturb him if he was busy, then around 7:30, I called him. He answered, but when he heard it was me, he sounded sad, and a little irritated, and I tried to apologize, but he said for me to listen. He told me that being around him was putting me in danger, so we couldn’t see each other anymore, much less be boyfriend and girlfriend. I starting crying, telling him that he didn’t seem to care about that before, but he didn’t answer, he just hung up, saying,
“Nice knowing you, Jasmine.” I had the feeling something was up: this wasn’t the Jordan that I knew and loved. I decided to ride my bike to school tomorrow so I could follow him home when he got picked up. Then I would sneak in and try to talk to somebody who could tell me what was up or eavesdrop and find out.

As soon as the bell rang, ending the last period of the day, I made sure I was the 1st person out the door, then I raced to my locker and put my books away. I grabbed all my homework and books needed for it, stuffed them in my backpack, and raced outside. Whew, thank goodness, he hasn’t come out yet, I thought to myself as I saw Danny sitting in the front seat of the red Corvette, obviously waiting on Jordan. I grabbed my bike, and then raced behind some bushes a distance away from the car. After waiting for a couple minutes, I finally saw Jordan walking sadly towards the Corvette. I wondered what was wrong. As soon as he hopped in and the Corvette took off, I raced off after it, following at a good distance, but enough to still see it.

POV: Jordan
School was such a drag today. I almost cried(which I never do) when I saw Jasmine walk by, completely ignoring me. It made me remember last night when I broke up with her. I had to, though. I wanted her to be my queen, but I didn’t want her to be a vampire, so I thought it was best if she stayed away from me. Plus, with me being a prince, you tend to have enemies who want to hurt anyone close to you so they can make you do whatever they want. I thought it was for the best if she just stayed away. I mean, last time I had a romantic relationship, she turned me into the monster I am now, so maybe relationships aren’t my thing. I was so upset after she turned me that I had moved away, but when my parents revealed to me that the girl was hired to turn me and that they were the queen and king of all vampires, well, that made me feel really bad. They eventually convinced to move back to Bedford, though, but now I regret ever agreeing to it.I pondered over all this on the ride home from school. I had a strange feeling as we pulled into the driveway of our mansion that this wasn’t the ending of me and Jasmine, it was just the beginning.
