I walked with Ronnie through the front door of her house taking my coat off.
"God, I thought she'd never let us leave" I whined throwing my heels off.
"My feet are swollen from dancing" said Ronnie as we walked in the living room and she threw herself on the couch.
"But Olivia looked happy so mission accomplish" I said sighing as I sat next to her.
"And you looked happy too" said Ronnie "Mind telling me what it is? I'm pretty sure it wasn't the dancing to Katy Perry songs".
"Well, if you must know" I said "Henry was about to kiss me".
"What?" she said excited as I nodded smirking "Seriously, I thought you liked Raymond".
"So did I" said Raymond's voice from behind us as we both turned our heads and my eyes widened when Raymond was standing there with his arms crossed.
"Umm…Hi Raymond" said Ronnie nervously.
"I wouldn't have argued about this almost kiss but there's something more important" said Raymond.
"More than your girlfriend?" teased Ronnie.
"We're not dating" said Raymond.
"Well why?" asked Ronnie "I mean you occasionally make out and you swoon over each other but you're not dating so you have no right to be angry over her almost kiss, am I correct?".
"The kiss or almost kiss is the last thing bothering me now" said Raymond seriously as I sensed something wrong and I slowly walked to him.
"What is it?" I demanded.
"Landon" he said and that was enough for me to hear. Me and Ronnie rushed to the coat closet and put our coats back on as Raymond followed us.
"Is he dead?" said Ronnie trying to hold herself from crying as I prayed Raymond would say no.
"He's not dead" said Raymond as me and Ronnie closed our eyes and sighed in relief "But he's worse than he was, they're all flying to Saint John tonight so they can go and see him".
"So they can go and say good bye" I said feeling my eyes water up.
"We're not sure about that" said Raymond struggling wither he should tell the truth or not scare us.
"We have to go with them" said Ronnie as Raymond sighed.
"I already booked us tickets" said Raymond as I forced a smile at him "2 am, it's not the best time cause it's only in an hour but it's the soonest I can find".
"And my parents?" I asked.
"They were on the 11 o'clock plane" he said as I nodded and Jessica came from upstairs.
"Did you tell them?" asked Jessica as Raymond nodded.
"We should leave or we'll be late for the plane" said Raymond as I felt my body tense up. What is this was the last time I'd get to see Landon? What am I supposed to tell him?, I hesitated as Raymond opened the front door and Ronnie walked out while Jessica walked to the kitchen and I just stood there shaking from fear and Raymond looked at me concerned.
"Hey, it'll be fine" said Raymond holding my hand than his eyes widened "Your hands are freezing Summer".
"It's nothing" I said forcing another smile "I'm fine, I knew all morning that he's going to die, it doesn't make a difference for me".
"Umm…Summer, that's pretty harsh" said Raymond confused "You know, it's ok if you're upset".
"I'm not" I lied smiling again "Can we get this over with now? I don't want anyone to think I bailed out and decided to not go".
Raymond looked at me confused than nodded "Sure, lets go but are you sure you're not upset?".
"No" I said trying my best to convince him as I smiled "Now lets go, I can't wait to go to Canada".
"Ok" he said not convinced and I knew I wouldn't be able to convince anyone that I'm not upset but all I wanted was to convince myself.
