Time wasn't passing by….at least that's how it felt. I was just standing there waiting, for his death I suppose. Somehow, I have managed to find a reason to blame myself for this, the reason wasn't clear but it didn't have to be…I just blamed myself for everything that's happening in this moment.
"Suddenly" Landon answered me while we sat in his backyard on a red blanket.
"You want to die suddenly" I said more of a question than a statement.
"Think about it" Landon told me "Who wants to know that they're going to die? The idea is intimidating just lying there and waiting for yourself to die".
"Strange way to think about it" I said as he nodded.
"I'm a strange person, what can I say?" he said smirking as I chuckled and shook my head in disbelief.
~End Of Flashback~
I cringed once I remembered that. Landon was getting exactly the
opposite of what he wanted. I wish I could change it, I really
wish I could.
"Why is the surgery taking so long?" asked Ronnie.
"Surgeries always take long" said Nora.
"Not this long" said Landon's mother crossing her arms as a nurse walked to us and Landon's mother looked relieved "How is he?".
"There are….some complications" said the nurse as everyone's face froze.
"Is he dead?" asked mum as I cringed at that thought.
"No" said the nurse as she looked hesitated "But his heart keeps stopping…we manage to get the pulse back but the surgery is too much for him to take, but we are doing our best, there are some of the best doctors in the country inside there".
"Thank you" said Landon's mother as the nurse nodded smiling than walked away.
"Why is all this happening to us?" I asked Landon as we took a walk in the forest "I mean….why can't we be just like everyone else?".
"We're jinxed" he said shrugging "but look at the bright side".
"Is there a bright side to going to the hospital every week because I faint whenever I get upset?" I snapped.
"Well,. you skip school a lot" he said smiling as I chuckled "Oh and your parents don't make you do a lot of chores any more plus….Life would've been so boring without all this".
"Yeah, who wants the regular parties and hanging out? Lets go to hospitals better" I said sarcastically.
"That's the attitude" he said putting an arm around me.
"I hate you" I whined as he laughed.
"That's good" he said "You have feelings for me".
"Hate feelings" I said.
"Still counts as feelings" he said as we both stuck our tongue at each.
~End Of Flashbacks~
"I need coffee" said Landon's mother expecting someone to
volunteer and go get some coffee.
"Me and Summer will get them" said Ronnie as I rolled my eyes. She took my wrist and pulled me behind her. I didn't really know where we could get coffee in this place so I just followed Ronnie.
Suddenly Ronnie stopped and I gave her a confused look "What's wrong?".
"Well…I don't really know the way" said Ronnie nervously.
"It's fine, we'll just ask someone" I said shrugging as I noticed we were in the hallway of operation rooms "Or maybe, we don't have to".
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"This place is strictly for staff only" I said.
"So we should leave quickly than" she said heading to go as I pulled her back.
"Or not" I said "Landon is in OR7 right?".
She looked at me remembering than nodded "So?".
"How cool will it be if we saw him in surgery?" I asked as she smirked. We walked quickly from OR2 to OR7 and looked from the glass in the door where the doctors were standing around the operation table.
"I can't see anything" said Ronnie peeking.
Suddenly the doctors all stopped working and moved away from the table where the blanket was over the body.
"Time of death" said the doctor looking at his watch "14:43".
I froze in my place as I looked at the room's number again and it was OR7, it was OR7 the room where Landon was.
I looked at Ronnie in shock and we quickly rushed in the room as all the doctors looked at us surprised.
"What-" said the doctor but I didn't give him a chance and walked pass him than took the blanket over the face and it was….it was Landon, Landon was lying there dead.
