Chapter 1: Unusual Lifestyles

Why am i running? Why am i terryfied? well it all started a month ago...............I was down at the old park with my friends. Our usual hangout, no one ecer bothered us there. We are what you'd call the "goth" group. To everyone else we're the creepy, dark kids who went out of our way to stay away from other. But to us we are the normal ones, everyone else is simply out of place in our world. The group consists of Jade, Jasmine, Cal, Seth, and myself, Rose Killson.

Lily or Jade as everyone calls her is my best friend and my second in camand in our gang. She is though and isnt someone to mess with. She can knock your teeth out in one punch. She is also our third best fighter besides myself and Seth. She was a goody goody until the third grade when she relized this world is so much better then the one our parents want for us to live in. As a rebelious action she cut her hair and dyed her bleach blonde hair a beautiful midnight black. This was also around the time she announced she was not Lily, that she was Jade and would only answer to Jade.

Cal is seventeen and a year older then the rest of us but can act like hes fourteen. He is the one who likes to crack jokes and make us all laugh. I'll admit he is funny. As far as we know his parents expected perfection but he didnt care. He is Seths second in comand in the gang and currently in an on and off relationship with Jade.

Jasmine is fairly new and had no title. She just recently converted from goody to goth. She went all through elementy, middle, and half of high school as a wannabe princess but she was one of us on the inside. She funally made it officil three months ago by putting red streaks through her perfect blonde hair and changing from pink princess to purple punk. It was a huge shock around school, its not everyday one of them comes running to us.We usually would never have allowed a new member that easily, but its also not everyday one of the popular wannabes comes to our doorbegging on bended knee toaccept them. So we ,ade an exception. Inthose short months she has become a full member ofthe gang. If you never met her you'd think she was always one of us.

Seth is my co-captain, second in camand, and my other half. They say everyone has a twin and he is mine in almost everyway. Some people say we are dating, they insist we are a couple and we are going to get married but we are like siblings. We go as far back as birth. Our mothers were best friends. But that was until his parents got in a car crash and never came back. Seth came to live with us after that. For a long time he never spoke to anyone but me. But now hes as hyper as anyone but he likes playing the serious person. That was all back when we were five. Hes been my roomate now for...goodness eleven years. When i say roomate i mean it too. back then we were in a small house and had to share. now we have a huge house where we could each have our own rooms, bathrooms and more but we were so used to it we atayed together. Seth is tall and i maen that hes a good foot and a half taller then myself. He has amazing natrual black hair with one purple streak in it. He has been goth since the day he started hanging out with me. We both came from punk/goth families and are closer then any two can be.

Then theres me, Rose Killson. I'm co-capain number one in our gang and this is because I brought us all together. I'm the only one born into a family that made me goth/punk from birth. My parents were way differnt from normal parents.They filled the house with Goth gear from before i was born with everything they could find. I suppose my mother like daughter though. My father died when i was twelve But he left me with something i will love forever. You see my parents both owned their own shops. my father owned a tattoo shop he simply called "Tats" I remember sitting in the shop watching as the bright colors blended perfectly with the costumers skin My father promised he would do my first tattoo. He also knew he was going to die, so my parents didnt exactly win parents of the year when they let me get my tattoo at twelve. I got a cross right above my ankle that went up to my theigh. It hurt like hell but i tryed to not let it get to me.It was breathtaking. It was also his last tattoo he ever did because he died shortly after. I miss him tons and the tattoo is my more prized posession.

After my dad died we had some money troubles but we got by. My mother used to tell us one day we'd live on the Ceader Hill in the mansion. She said it was perfect but we never thought we actually would.. Now we actually do live here though. Its all because of her job and talent. Shes a phycic, she sees all the good things that will happen. But she only Helps those who want to know about the good. Things were slow for a while until someone came in asking about a man named Jerry Miller. My mother told them she saw behind the bricks and soot. The man payed triple what he owed. the next day we saw a man namd Jerry Miller arrrested for mass murders. Found in coal factory made of brick. After that mymother got hiredwith the F.B.I. helping them with hard cases.

I did say Sethand I were almost thesame right becauseIm not talking just boy and girl.I have my own sckills to fall back on. You see im phycic too.Only different from my mother, I only see bad things. I have been called in to help on those harder cases that no even my mother can solve. I dont exactly go around advertising it though so my names off record. Besides a few members of the F.B.I and my mother only Seth knows my secret. To everyone else Im a all around misfit. To them they see me as the " Leader of the Misfits" Which I guess in a way I am. I have pitch black hair with multiple purple streaks in it. Seth put the purple in his hair in an atempt to match mine. I wear only my usual goth/punk wardrobe and dark makeup. I dont advertise my F.B.I job but i deffinetlyadvertise my job as head of the "misfits." But dontgo thinking that Jade, Jasmine, Cal, Seth and I arethe only gang, there are three more just like us butwe are thehead group. Seth and I are in the top postions. We make sure no one starts with us and no one does. For years its been the same we ignore them, they ignore them, they fight us, we fight back. This was my perfect life in a total disfuctional kind of way, and this is how i wanted it. But soon this would be what it would never be like again. the choices I would make would change everything for the rest of my life, and not just mine but my friends as well.
