Chapter 25

Dee Dee came into Zen room and informed him, “Scha is calling for a sick leave. She told me she’s having migraine and not feeling well. She’s headed home directly.”

“I guess it best that I get going and see how’s she’s doing,” he stood up from his chair smiling at Dee Dee.

“Yeah, you better,” she chuckled. “Good luck.”

“Thanks” he nodded and walked out from the office.

He and Dee Dee had expected Scha would do that. She will definitely feel disappointed when the guy that she’s yearning for going after someone else. She is sure feeling depressed and frustrated when her love is not returned. She must have felt the same hurt he’s feeling when she rejected him. He and Dee Dee didn’t mean to have a revenge on her but that’s the only way they could think of, to make her accepted him. That’s the only way to show her that he will always be with her no matter what.

He rang the doorbell once he reached her apartment. Nearly 10 minutes later he heard the door click indicating someone is trying to unlock the door. Sure enough it was Scha. She opened the door just nice for her too peek through and see who. She was shocked seeing Zen standing at her door with a bouquet of Peach roses in his hand.

Zen looked at her and smiled, “Hi, Scha, can I come in?” he asked.

She returned his smile shyly and unlocked the chain at her door, opened it wider to for him to come in, “Yeah, sure come in,” she said softly, still shocked to see him at her door because she never expected him to come at all. He looks dashing as always, Scha thought and realised how much she missed that dashing looks. He’s wearing the blue stripes shirt she has given him last Christmas. His hairs look messy as if he’s been combing it with his fingers way too much often. Maybe he was nervous to see and talk to her again.

“Dee Dee told me you having migraine. I know how bad your migraine is so I’m here to see how you’re doing,” he said smiling sweetly at her and handling the flowers to her.

She took it from him inhaling the scents and smile. “Well just a slight one. I have taken my pills,” she told him as she leads him to her living room.

“You should rest. You shouldn’t work too hard,” he said sitting down on his favourite sofa. Yeah, he has a favourite sofa in Scha apartment and Scha had never allowed anyone else to sit on it.

“Don’t worry, I’m resting,” she told him while arranging the flowers in a glass vase, “You want any drinks?” she asked looking at him.

“Don’t worry Scha, I could get it myself. I know my way around the house, remember?” he said to her, “Unless of course you don’t me to treat it like my own house anymore?”

“Of course I still do,” she scolded him, “What make you think I don’t allow it anymore?”

“Well, you haven’t been treating me like your friend lately,” he pointed out looking directly at Scha.

She blushed. Ashamed with her owns attitude towards him. Biting her lips she looked down at her hands and playing with her fingers. She’s speechless don’t know what to say to him.

Zen stood up from his sofa and walked towards Scha. Putting his hand under her chin, he lifted it to face him, “I missed you Scha,” he said. “I missed doing all the fun and annoying stuff with you. I missed hearing your whining and complaining and most of all I missed you laughing with you. I missed us – together.”

His words made Scha flushed. The words are so sweet. It would be romantic if the words come from a lover, thought Scha, but Zen is not her lover. She’s rejected him remember? She told herself. She had rejected this wonderful and amazing guy.

She feel her tears coming down her eyes, “I missed you too,” she chocked and Zen pulled her into a hugged. “I’m so sorry for treated you that way,” she sobbed on his chest.

“Hey, it’s ok,” soothed Zen rubbing her back softly and tenderly. “I still love you no matter what,” he said softly.

“I love you too,” she said softly. It feels so warm and comfortable being in his arms that she didn’t want to let go. They hugged for a longest time. Neither she nor Zen wanted to release each other. It felt so good. Perfect, in fact. She closed her eyes and inhaled his sweet manly cologne that he’s been using. Gosh, she loves his manly smell. She could feel his heart beating so fast as fast as hers.

Still hugging her, he put his chin on top of her head, “I’m sorry if I’m the caused of your migraine.”

She looked up at him, but still in his arms, she pouted her lips, “What make you think you the cause of it?”

He chuckled, tightening his arms around her, “Well I know why you have migraine. You have a lot of things in this small head of yours. And I know, I’m one of it,” he teased kissing her forehead.

She chuckled with him hiding her head in his chest, “Gosh, you are so proud of yourself. You always want to be a part of me.”

Zen sighed deeply, “Yeah, you right. I always want to be a part of you as I wanted you to be part of me,” he said softly as if talking to himself, but Scha could hear him. Does she want to be a part of his? Her mind asked her. She remained quiet in his arms but can’t stop thinking about it.

After a while still in each other embrace, Zen asked again, “So you want to tell me what causes you migraine?”

“You,” she simply said to his chest.

Zen chuckled, “See I know I’m the reason.”

“Don’t be so proud of yourself, Mr Harrison,” she mocked, “You are not the only reason for my migraine.”

“Hmm I’m not huh?” he nodded and hugged her tighter, “Who else? Him?”

Scha remained quiet. Not a single word came out from her mouth. She didn’t want to tell him anything.

Seeing Scha remain quiet, Zen pursued, “Want to talk about it?”

“No,” she simply replied.

“Come on Scha, who knows I could help?” he pressed.

“I don’t think you or anyone could help. I think you might laugh at me,” she said hiding her face in his chest but he knows she’s pouting which it her habits whenever she angry or depressed.

“I’m not going to laugh at you, I promised,” he convinced her and making her looked at him. She looked down with face fully flushed, “Come on and tell me about it. At least talking would help you to release your tension. Come on Scha,” he persuaded.

Knowing that she hesitated, he pulled her with him and sat on the sofa. “Come on,” he persuaded again. “Tell me what’s wrong?” wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

She played with her fingers thinking whether she should tell him. She sighed, “He didn’t love me. He’s in love with another girl,” she whispered.

“Huh?” asked Zen, he can’t really make out of what’s she was saying because it’s too soft.

“I’m actually in love with this guy I met online.” She started, “I know him through his poems and writing. I never meet him before,” she sighed and moments later continued, “I fall in love with his poems that he actually wrote for a girl whom he’s interested in. Those poems not even meant for me, but I’ve fallen in love with it. When he told me that the girl did not in love with I was so happy thinking that I have a chance to tell him how I felt towards him. I was waiting for a right moment to tell him but today I received an e-mail from him telling me that he found out that the girl has actually fallen for him but didn’t know that they are from him. He told me that that’s gives him the encouragement to continue going after her. He’s going to convinced her that he’s the one written all the poems for her. Received his e-mail today makes me realised that he never take an interest me except as a friend. I’m the only one is whose crazy over him.”

Zen remained quiet. He’s eager to tell her that what he is feeling at the moment but would she believe that he are the same guy? Seeing Zen quiet, Scha turned and looked at him. She expected him to laugh at her but instead he remained quiet.

“You suppose to laugh at me,” she said to him.

He looked at her, “Why? Because he didn’t love you?”

“No, because I am so stupid, falling in love with someone whom I know nothing about, yet rejected you whom I know all my life,” she said softly looking down at her fingers.

He tilted her chin up making her looked at him, he said, “You are not stupid, love is stupid, not you.”

‘Yeah you are right,” nodding her head but they didn’t take their eyes on each other. They just couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Scha just realised what a beautiful deep sea blue eyes Zen has and she’s drowning herself into it. Her eyes then move to his lips, his beautiful curvy lips and wonder how it tasted like.

“You better stop staring at me Scha. Because if you don’t I might do something we both would regret,” warned Zen suddenly waking her up from her thoughts.

Her eyes moved back to him and they eyes meet. The way he looked deeply into her made Scha feel like she is the center of his universe. Her temperature shot up and an ache built deep within her. “What would you do if I still stare at you?” she asked instead as if challenging him.

Lowering his face toward her he said softly, “This,” and lowered his lips on hers.
