Chapter 1

Do you ever get the feeling that someone's watching you? You know? Like their watching everything you do, they know exactly what time you get on the bus and what time you get home, they know where your parents work and how much time they have to stare at you through your window before they get home, and they know exactly where to find you when they need you.

I met Chase when I was fourteen, we quickly became friends, since I never really had a group of my own and he never had one either. After about a week, he asked me on a date. Of course I said yes, I was fourteen at the time. I didn't know much about boys at all. At the end of the night he kissed me and said I was the most beautiful girl in the world.

Another week later we were dating and I was happier than ever. I finally had a friend, and not only was he a friend but he was my boyfriend too. We dated for one month, before things began to get weird. He started to get clingy; he would sometimes be violent towards me so I decided that we should have a break from each other. He started to wonder why I was avoiding him and why I was ignoring all his calls and texts. He would peak in my window while I was changing or go into my house while I wasn't home. Eventually I asked my mom what I should do and she suggested I break up with him, so that's what I did. After that he still wouldn't leave me alone and would follow me home from school telling me he loved me. He often suggested we get back together, because he missed me. I didn't miss him though; I just wanted him to leave me alone.

Finally, after two years I gave up. My parents decided it was time we moved. The only thing was that we couldn't afford too. Me being a straight A student theyDo you ever get the feeling that someone's watching you? You know? decided to send me to a private school in New York. McHenley Private School was one of the top schools in New York, it was for those rich kids that have way to much going for them, it was also for those kids who had difficulties in their lives and needed to get away from it. It was for those kids, like me.

"Leave me alone!" I screamed at Chase. He was following me home from school again, like he usually does. I was getting tired of it, luckily for me this would hopefully be the last day I ever saw Chase again. I was tired of being followed every day, I was tired of being paranoid every day, that I would wake up and have him staring at me.

"Ally, wait!" He yelled back. Honestly, I wanted to hurt him. He deserved it. "I love you, why won't you love me?"

"Because you're a lunatic!" I yelled.

I was almost home; I could see my house now. A little faster and I would be home free. I glanced behind me to see Chase running after me. His blond hair flopped up and down and his blue eyes twinkled. Once upon a time I thought I loved him. Now I look at him and I want to throw up.

"Ally, if you give me another chance I promise I will do it right!" he screamed. There was no way I was giving him a second chance, he blew it a long time ago.

Finally I was at the door; I flew it open and ran inside. I slammed it behind me and let out a sigh of relief. I locked the door and leaned against it, I sure do get a lot of exercise running home every day. My parents stared at me from the living room; a small frown appeared on my mom's face.

"Chase again?" she asked. I nodded. She smiled. "Don't worry in a few hours you won't have to worry about him."

"Yeah," I said. I sighed once before making my way to the stairs. "I'm going to grab my bags," I said as I made my way to my room now. I packed some last minute things and grabbed my two suitcases and bag before dragging them down the stairs. It was a three hour drive to McHenley and it was almost four now, and knowing my parents they don't like driving in the dark (even though they probably will end up having too).

Jacob, my older brother who is nineteen, three years older than I am probably isn't looking forward to coming but my parents are making him, considering we won't be seeing each other for a while now. The thing is, is that he is too lazy to go to college since he just got out of school eight months ago, what a dumb ass. Eight months, he's been out of school! He's not exactly the smartest guy but he could at least try and go to college.

"Alright, I'm ready!" I muttered. I would much rather stay here, then try and make new friends at McHenley. I'm not exactly very good at making friends at all. Look what happened to me when I tried to make friends with Chase.

"Jacob!" Dad yelled up the stairs. Jacob dragged himself down the stairs grumbling about the long drive we would be making, he annoyed me so much, but man he really helped me out sometimes when I had problems with Chase. Sometimes it's nice to have him around.

"I'm here, let's go and get this over with." He put his shoes on and grabbed a suitcase from my hand. "I'll take that."

"Thanks Jacob," I said. He followed me out the door, but smacked into me when I stopped dead in my tracks just outside of the door.

"I thought you would never come outside," Chase said as he walked towards me. I groaned.

"Chase, please go away," I said.

"But Ally-"

"Go!"

He grumbled something and began walking away. I let out a small sigh before making my way towards our car. He whipped around quickly and ran to me, "Ally, where are you going?" he asked curiously.

"Somewhere," I said glancing over at Jacob who shrugged.

"You can tell me," he smiled.

"No," I muttered. "Goodbye Chase." It was like I was talking to a little kid.

He frowned and turned making his way back in the direction of his house. I watched him walk away making sure he was gone before I actually got in the car. After loading all my bags into the car we finally pulled out of the parking lot. It was hard to believe that this could be the last time I see my house for a while, I would be going to McHenley School for the rest of the year and I probably wouldn't be seeing my brother or parents for a while.

The entire drive to New York consisted of Jacob playing games on his phone, and me listening to music. Jacob still wasn't very happy about having to come with us to drop me off at McHenley, I wouldn't blame him though, and driving isn't very fun, in my opinion.

Finally we arrived in New York; we drove through the city and arrived at McHenley. The place was huge; at least it looked like it. We pulled into the parking lot and I climbed out excitedly. Maybe now I can live a normal life without having to worry about Chase or anyone else watching me. I sighed happily as my dad and Jacob pulled my bags out of the back of our car. They handed them to me,

"Well," Dad began, "are you capable of going in there by yourself or do you need you daddy to come with you?"

"Dad," I groaned.

Jacob and I laughed and my mother smiled. "If you have any problems here you can always call home and we will come get you," Mom said.

"You mean you two will come get her, no way is I ever making another trip like that!" Jacob muttered.

I laughed. "Yeah whatever guys, I'm sure I'll like it here so you don't need to worry about me."

"Ally, I have some rules before you go," Dad said in a firm fatherly voice. I would have laughed at how serious he was but I decided that might not be such a good idea.

"Oh great," I muttered.

"No drinking, no doing drugs, and no boys!" he said.

I frowned. He has got to be kidding about the boys! I understand the drugs and drinking but no boys?! "I don't want you coming home telling me that your pregnant!" He said.

"Dad!" I groaned once again. "I'm not going to get pregnant!"

"He has a point, haven't you heard of the show Sixteen and Pregnant?" Jacob asked.

"Jacob!" I snapped slapping him on the arm.

"Well your sixteen so it makes sense," he shrugged.

I glared at him. "I think it's time for me to go."

We all said our final goodbyes, before I made my way into the building. I watched them drive away before making my way into the building. I walked up the sidewalk; on each sides of the sidewalk were small bushes. A huge, beautiful water fountain stood on my right. The doors to the building were clear and read McHenley Private School above them. To my right was a bench that was slightly hidden behind a small street lamp against the wall of the school. I pushed the clear doors open and walked into the school.

Ahead of me was a desk which sat a woman in her early forties. She was wearing glasses and fiercely typing at her computer. She didn't noticed me as I looked around the place, on both sides of her desk were two staircases and beside those were two doors which I'm assuming was the way to class and the cafeteria. The walls to my sides were very tall and contained a huge painting on each side. Jeez, this place is nice.

"Can I help you?" the lady asked.

"Oh, yeah," I said hurrying towards her desk, dragging my bags with me. "Um, I'm new."

"I can see that," she muttered. My lips formed an O as my gaze fell to the floor. "I'm Mrs. Palone." I looked up at her to see a small smile on her face.

"I'm Ally," I said.

"Oh yes," she said glancing over at her computer screen. "I was told you would be arriving today." She rolled her chair over towards her computer and began typing furiously at it. I leaned on the desk watching her and stumbled back when she glanced over at me with a disapproving frown. "Your room 346," she said. The printer began to print something and as soon as it was done she pulled it roughly out of the slot. She folded it and handed it to me. "I suggest you read that, it's the rule book."

"Why can't you just tell me the rules?" I asked.

"Why can't you read the damn book," she muttered.

"OK," I said frowning at her. Who peed in her Corn Flakes this morning? I felt the urge to ask her but I don't really want to get kicked out of McHenley before I even get started.

"Anyway, here is your uniform," She handed me a bag and I glanced inside. "There are three uniforms in there so you have three outfits. Oh and just in case you don't read the book there is absolutely no boys in girls dorms, vice versa." She frowned.

"Yeah I was-"

The door suddenly opened and a very attractive guy walked in. Mrs. Palone and I stared at him. He glanced up at us, "Hey, Mrs. Palone," he greeted her.

I glanced over at Mrs. Palone who shook her head at him. "Hi, Brett," she muttered. "What are you doing out so late?"

"Just stuff," he muttered. That's when he noticed little me standing there awkwardly. "Hopefully I'll be seeing her in my bed tonight," he waggled his eye brows at me.

I frowned. "Excuse me?" Guys don't just say that to girls! That is just so rude and disrespectful!

"Brett, go!" Mrs. Palone pointed in the direction of the boys' dorms.

He didn't listen though instead he strolled over to both of us and this time I took a real good look at him. His hair was dark brown and spiked up messily on his head, his eyes were the color of milk chocolate, his skin was tanned and his body was tall and strong. I could almost feel myself drooling at his muscular arms. Wow, he was just... wow.

"What's your name?" he asked.

I debated on telling him or not. "Um, Ally," I said nervously. He made me slightly uncomfortable, because he was just so hot.

His eyes lingered over my body and I felt even more uncomfortable. "Brett, do you have to hit on every girl you see?" Mrs. Palone's voice was behind me. I would have laughed that she was saying that but I was too nervous too.

"I'm sorry, what?" Brett asked, "I was too busy imagining her naked."

Is it too late to go home now? I was pretty sure that my cheeks were red as a tomato. "Um, I should go to my room." I grabbed my bags and hurried off towards the left staircase up to the girls dorms. I glanced behind me only to see Brett smirking at me. I gulped.

After dragging everything up two sets of stairs and stopping to admire some more paintings and such I made it to my room. After gaining my breath I knocked on the door.

No one answered.

I knocked again only this time I leaned my head against the door. Maybe I could hear someone in there. Sighing I was about to pull my key out when the door swung open and I fell flat on my face.

"Oh great another roommate," I could hear a girls voice say.

I groaned and pulled myself to my feet. A girl stood in front of me, her long brown hair fell all the way down her back and her brown eyes blinked at me. She stood there her hand on her just waiting for me to speak.

"Um," I began not knowing what else to say.

"I'm Zoey," she said.

"Allison," I said, "but I go by Ally."

"Alright Allison, welcome to your dorm room for the next year," she said stepping aside to let me in. Clearly she wasn't going to call me Ally. I looked around the place, the walls were painted white and the furniture was black, it had a cool vibe to the room that I kind of liked.

"Oh my god, hi!" a high pitched voice said excitedly. I looked over to see an overly cheerful blond girl running towards me. She wrapped me in a huge hug, her blond curls fell down her back perfectly and her bright emerald colored eyes Shaun brightly.

"Uh, hi," I said slightly overwhelmed.

"I'm Shelby," she said, "We get to be roommates for the rest of the year!"

"Cool?" I said but it came out more as a question.

"What's your name? Oh my God we can be best friends. I'm so excited." I glanced over at Zoey who shrugged; I guess she was just always like this. Great.

"I'm Ally," I said.

"Well, Ally we can be best friends," she exclaimed cheerfully, finally letting go of me.

"Um I have to go put my things away," I said.

"Of course you do," she said. "I'll show you your room." She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the room on the left. The entire place was set up weird right by the door was a small kitchen and table and to the right was one room. Straight ahead was the living room and to the right of that was another room, and next to that was another room that I'm assuming was mine. The place was nice and I was glad to live be living in such a nice place like this, and Chase wasn't even here.
