Chapter 2- Not Who I Was Expecting

“Hola chica!” she said smiling brightly.

She had changed out of her floral skirt and cami/cardigan combo, into her black cheerleading shorts and a tank top that said ‘I <3 Daniel, Chris, Scott, Luke, … ME!’

I had changed too. I wore dark denim cut-offs and a The Maine tank top instead of the skinnies and Hollister shirt that I was wearing earlier today.

I walked in. Her house was beautiful. It was two stories and decorated perfectly. Her mom was an interior designer so that’s why everything in her house seemed so put together.

Cassie’s older brother, Joshua, came down the stairs. Every time I see him I think of how different he is from Cassie. Cassie’s mom and Josh’s dad had gotten married when we were in middle school so they look nothing alike. While Cassie had golden curly hair and green eyes, Josh had dark straight hair and blue eyes.

He gave me a sly smile. He had started crushing on me a few years ago.

“Well hello beautiful,” he said to me.

“Hi Josh.”

“Will I have the honor of having you sleepover tonight?” he asked me.

“Yes, she will but that does not give you the right to bother us,” Cassie answered for me.

Josh puts his hands up in surrender. “Ok, ok. But if she keeps dressing like that, I can’t make any promises.” He gave me one last smile and went up to his room.

“Gosh he is such a creeper,” Cassie said. She hated that Josh liked me. She thought that it was against nature. I actually thought it was kind of cute.

“Come on,” Cassie said pulling on my hand. We went to her room. It was overflowing with pink. If I didn’t know better I would think that Barbie lived here.

“Abby please don’t kill me but this guy really want to go out with you. It’s a different guy than before,” Cassie said.

“I’m gonna pretend like I didn’t hear that,” I said turning up the radio.

Cassie got up and locked the door. “Abigail, I am not letting you leave until you agree to this,” she says blocking the door.

I give her a death stare but she doesn’t move. “Cassie, step away from the door.”

“Say yes to the date.”

“No!” I run for the door. She holds her arms out and blocks me.

“Agree to the date!”

“No!”

“Yes!” She puts her arms down and gives me a menacing grin. “If you don’t say yes, I will tell Chase about your obsession with him…including the wedding.”

I froze. I might not have the guts to do something like that, but Cassie did. I groaned. “I hate you.”

She smiled. “Yay! Ok so the date is tomorrow night. You’re gonna love him!” she squealed.

Oh my gosh, what did I just myself into?

We heard a faint ring coming from the doorbell.

“I’ll get it. It’s probably Sam,” I said.

I ran downstairs to get the door. I opened it.

“Hey Sa…oh. Hi Chase.”
